This location has always been a Mexican restaurant, but it’s now under new management. They make«from scratch» FREE guacamole at your table as you watch… plus they offer really good, authentic mexican food.(not all cheesy and gross, sorry Pepe’s) a lot of variety on the menu… a specialty is «char-broiled steak tacos» and it’s all pretty cheap, plus drinks,(beer and margaritas, of course, casuelas, and micheladas) but since there’s a full(male-dominated neighborhoody) bar in back, you can probably get anything you want. Price wise, you can make a plate of cheaper items($ 1.50 tacos, $ 2 quesadillas.).or go for a huge, but more expensive platter(8 – 12 bucks with the shrimp and seafood costing the most) .Ingredients are VERYFRESH and attractively plated. If you live in the south burbs, and can’t run up to Pilson, this is the next best thing. Décor is basic,(with tvs playing world cup or spanish language histronics,) but here, at least, you can get a table tucked around a corner without being bathed in fluorescent light… and if that’s not your scene, you can order, sip a cool one, and wait for your to go chow to get bagged t’go. Or they deliver now! 10÷26÷11CLOSED over the summer of 2011. I kept waiting as they looked they were remodeling and might re-open. But now the signs are gone and it’s stick-a-fork-done. Not sure if something new will come in to that location. SAD half the stuff I’ve reviewed in the south suburbs for Unilocal has CLOSED in 2011.
