This is a fantastic neighborhood candy store. The kids love it(obviously), but the handcrafted chocolates are really amazing. Our favorite gift for any occasion is a box of their famous, handmade chocolate Jakes: chocolate, caramel & pecans, yum! The owners also offer treats for the kids as a reward for good grades on their report cards. That is what it is all about.

My family and I were in Chicago for a vacation and saw the great reviews on Sweet freaks and decided to give it a try. The owner was very friendly and kind. They have a wide variety of fudge, chocolate, and candy. We loved the Jakes and Jacques, Great trays and platters of chocolate for parties and guests with a sweet tooth. Me and my family order chocolate all the way from North Carolina because we love it so much!

Sweet Freaks is a cute little family-owned candy store located in a group of quaint little shops right next to the 99th Street Metra station in Beverly. Even if you’re not a huge chocolate lover, you’ll love this place. Besides chocolates, they have a variety of other candy and fudge. However, their main specialty is hand made chocolates and candies – hence the name Sweet Freaks. One step inside and you can tell they’re passionate about what they do. Everything is meticulously made and tastes incredible. Must try’s are the Howies, Jakes(their version of a Turtle) Jaques and cherry bites(chocolate-dipped red licorice. Because everything is made fresh in small batches, they might be out of something, but there’s always plenty of other options. I guarantee, once you give their stuff a try, you’ll be hooked.

I am hooked on the chocolate there. I especially like the little marsh mellow birthday style cakes. Its like my birthday everyday with a little mock candle on the top. The owner Katie Murphy is as sweet as she can be. They can make anything and have a wide variety of goodies; fudge, pralines, grahm crackers. Even had Oscar cookies for Oscar night. She also has some penny candy. Go there and go next door to Blossom Boys, flower and gift shop and the coolest ladies boutique on the corner. While you are in Beverly go down three blocks to RH Design and consignment shop on 103rd and Wood for cool furniture.
