This golf course has some considerably high netting to block golf balls from flying above & past onto surrounding lawns & drive ways… pretty surprised to still find a ton of golf balls around this course everyday. Not a golf course problem… but apparently a personal one. Take lessons please! Pretty golf course, though!

Nice and clean area. Better food and the golfing is decent.

Yesterday I had the pleasure to Golf @ Stoney Creek Golf Course in Oak Lawn yesterday with my Grandfather and two uncles and I must say this is ‘the worst’ golf course we have shot at. First the organization was horrible. There wasn’t an employee at the first tee box to ensure that the correct people were checking in at the right times and players were just teeing off whenever they felt they wanted which made for the twosome behind us CONSTANTLY hitting into us almost as if it were funny to them. Secondly the course itself was AWFUL. The greens were torn up; it seemed as if no one had ever heard of proper golf etiquette on this course. Sand traps were not raked greens had ball marks all over them and half of the fair was just dirt. The fairways were narrow so don’t hook or slice the ball at all or you will find our self either digging thru the forest for on the fairway of another hole and by then someone will have picked up your ball. That brings me to my next point — THISCOURSEISDANGEROUS! In the course description it says for beginners. But to make the fairways as narrow as they are YIKES! Better bring your hard helmet!!! NUMEROUSTIMES did we other players balls come flying into our tee boxes, sand traps and even onto our greens that we were putting on! It was ridiculous… The course layout was just horrible. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had played at and will not be coming back.

Stoney Creek has a nice workers, the clubhouse has a good atmosphere, and the bathrooms are clean. When I went there was quite a queue to tee-off despite entering a tee time. The holes are short mostly par 3’s and 4’s with one par 5. The courses have a lot of cart path and if you slice or hook, will lose a ball either over a fence or into the woods. Hole 7 is tricky. The river/creek is about 200 yards from the tee-off, but the gap itself is about 50 yards! It isn’t just a creek, it is a creek+mini valley, with trees growing from the bottom. Nice, short course for beginners, being that is mostly par 3’s and 4’s, but expect to lose some balls into the vast canyons.
