I had an awesome time the first time I went to this place to watch a UFC fight. I dragged my girlfriend along even though she didn’t want to come. We ended up debating future fights with another guy and one of the owners. At the end of the night, we left anticipating our next visit. The 2nd visit ensured that I will never go to this place again. When I arrived with my niece they told me that there was a cover charge. I paid the cover for the 3 of us and we had a beer and stood around watching the preliminary fights. After about an hour a waitress came to us and told us there was a 2 drink minimum. Even though I was bothered by the fact that I didn’t know about it, I said okay and she walked away. A few minutes later the owner(the same one I had been talking to in my previous visit) came over and told us that we have to buy another drink. I told him that I didn’t know about a 2 drink minimum and he said that he would give us back our cover and we could leave or buy a drink. As I stood there, thinking about leaving because of how uncomfortable and angry this guy made me, another guy pulled him away. Moments later waitresses came over back to back to harass us and ask us if we wanted another drink. I couldn’t figure out why we were being singled out, standing right behind a woman with a cup of water, or why it was so urgent to get a drink right this moment and the main event hadn’t even started. Needless to say our night was ruined and we both ended up creating Unilocal accounts to let the rest of Chicago and it’s visitors know about this«business». The owner responded to my wife’s post saying that he offered us our $ 5 back. He failed to mention that he never offered us back our dignity, the effort we used to get to the place we thought we liked, or the time we wasted choosing the wrong bar. This post isn’t about the additional $ 10 we spent on drinks we didn’t want, it is about the fact that we were singled out, harassed, embarrassed, and denied an enjoyable experience for a $ 4 profit.

Near the end of our night at 6 corners, my roommate turned to me and asked, «Yen, are you going to Unilocal about this place? Please?» So here goes my first one-star review in a long time. We came in to this ridiculously convenient location(1 – 2 min walk from Damen blue line) for trivia on a Wednesday, which they say happens at 8. Apparently it was their first week with geekswhodrink(one of the big trivia companies…) and they guy wasn’t the happiest about it, but he did it. About half an hour late, grumble grumble. Beers were on special, Bell’s for $ 4, but then they ran out. Comically small and not very good draft list: Bell’s Oberon(then it runs out), Sam Adams Boston Lager, Green Line, two other not that great beers. A few decent bottles(Fat Tire, Magic Hat, Firestone Union Jack…) but overall beer list is disappointing compared to all the nearby bars. Food was awful. He had a turkey burger that came with limp fries, she got some tempura vegetables which were tasteless and took 45 minutes to come out. Thought we’d be adventurous and try the wasabi ginger sauce of the nine or so choices; it was inedible and we got some sweet and sour instead. And the food isn’t *that* cheap when there’s big star and sultan’s around the corner, and that pizza place, and you can get a cheeseburger at the Tavern for $ 1 or something stupid. Board games exist, but they’re mostly broken(guess who, sequence, and rock em sock em robots were all basically unplayable). Connect 4 is playable though! Service is friendly and available, which was pleasant, but everything else was bad. And good service is the cherry on top or the whipped cream: it still won’t make your ice cream taste better if it’s bad ice cream. Skip it.

I had a good time here this past weekend. Board games and booze. Digital juke box to play your own music. $ 0.25 a song is decent. or was it $ 0.50? The alcohol here isn’t priced too bad at all. Skip out on them cheese fries they were not all that good. The service here was okay. We kept having to flag our server down for more drinks. But basically this place wasn’t busy at all and it’s a sports bar where you can play board games. The big pro about this place is the huge screen behind the bar and there are plenty of flat screen tvs all around this bar.

I usually wouldn’t bother reviewing the food for a «Sports Bar», but walked out of here disappointed enough with my food that I had to try and save somebody else from the experience. Came here for trivia on a Wednesday night. They get a large turnout of tough competitors and as far as that goes they’re fine. The food is largely another story. We have had the boneless wings two different times(both buffalo and some Asian version) and those are standard, but good. This time though, I ordered the«Slam Dunk Mushroom» burger and my friend had the potato skins. Now, it’s worth noting that their menu lists the names of their five or so burgers without any description whatsoever(save what you can figure out from the name) AND it also doesn’t list the price, just«$ 8.99-$ 11.99» on the header. When I asked the waitress(who was pleasant and attentive all night) what all was on the«Slam Dunk Mushroom» burger, she handed me a placard with pictures of each burger along with their prices — but still no description of what’s on it. Since the picture had mushrooms and bubbly white cheese oozing out of it, I figured it was safe to assume it would be a typical mushroom/swiss/grilled onion combo. You’ll have to check the pictures above to get a better idea, but when I got my burger it literally had three very small slices of mushroom on it along with a modest mix of white cheese and what I can only assume was a Kraft single. We were laughing as we took pictures of it next to the menu. To top it off(literally) was this gigantic bun that must have been taken straight from the refrigerator and plopped on the grill for 30 seconds. It was cold to the touch and not fully thawed out in the middle. Fries weren’t bad. The potato skins were slightly better, but not by much. They had a generous amount of bacon on them that had a great smoky flavor, but the skins just weren’t cooked nearly enough. They were borderline crisp — not the good toasted kind of crisp, but the barely-cooked-nearly-raw kind. Like I said, the voneless wings were good, the service was good, and the trivia was decent. So that’s enough for two stars, but the menu, overall food, and the bathrooms that belong in a college town dive keep it from being anything more than that.

meh, it’s ok here. we were here specifically to watch the UFC158 fight and they had it on all screens, except for a couple for the hawks game, which was nice. the food was terrible… so luckily most of us had eaten before we got there. for the bathrooms, it was only a one person bathroom so lines kind of sucked, esp after you broken the seal!

Nice little hole in the wall sports bar. Lots of TVs and had all games on. The prices for the specials were very reasonable; but the food was no bueno. I ordered a burger and wings because I was really hungry and the waitress highly recommended the burger. The burger was not cooked to my specifications and the bacon was on the burger was not crispy. The fries were soggy and the wings were cold. Overall very poor eating; I am still really hungry. I would go back to this place to watch the game and drink some beers, but never again to eat.

I have been to 6 corners twice now and the place is just a hole in the wall and not in a good way. The only good thing about this place is that it is rarely packed so you can always find a seat to watch the game. Originally we tried to go to Piece Pizza to watch at the bar but it was jammed pack so we ended up here. The beer was flat but the servers were nice.

Great little spot in Wicker Park. My husband and I are absolutely addicted to the garlic aioli sauce here– order it with anything. The food itself is average, but you get a lot of it. This is also the best place to go for TCU football games– the owner plays the fight song every time they score. Droves of misplaced Horned Frogs seem to know just where to go to feel at home on Saturdays in the fall.

6 Corners is a great little neighborhood bar. Nothing fancy. Not a dive. Just a good old neighborhood bar. It’s for sure a 3 star kinda joint, but having Dion there behind the bar bumps it up. Not only did he make the only Bloody Mary that I’ve ever(EVER) liked before but that man will keep you laughing for quite some time too. Your mixture of Zing Zang, Guinness, vodka, and spicy goodness are damn near perfect, good man. As everyone else has said, they have lots of TV’s and they have board game.

I don’t remember much about this bar, other than it turns alfresco. Nice.

I come here week after week for trivia. Lopez, the trivia curator/administrator rocks, so he gets five stars. The service, however, gets one star. I don’t want to blame the waitresses, because they’re usually overwhelmed, but something needs to change. Most importantly, get rid of the busser who keeps grabbing my beer cans to see if they’re empty, as well as poking at my food and asking if I’m done. Oh yeah, he also amuses himself by banging empty glass bottles together while he’s walking them from tables to the garbage cans, where he throws them away as loudly as possible. Literally the most insufferable human being I know. The food is OK — 2.5 stars. Just your typical bar food, with a nice menu touch allowing you to get your food with a good variety of mostly-delicious sauces. The prices are average, but the wait time can vary between«Hey, that was fast» and«I forgot I even ordered food, that was two hours ago.» It is adequate as a sports bar. Plenty of TVs, but a pretty sub-par beer selection. Also, their biggest TV screen is located in a place where only the few people seated at the bar can see it. A waste, if you ask me. They also deserve some bonus points for opening early for soccer games on the weekends. In summary, I like the trivia(Chicago Trivia Guys is the group that puts it on, as they do at several other bars) and the weekend soccer games. Everything else ranges from«meh» to «why do I keep coming here?»

The main complaint is how long the food takes to be prepared, over an hour, which was the second time in a row on a Monday it took so long. The first time we had the waffle and chicken special, all 11 eating, they don’t have enough waffle makers or something to run a special in a near crowded place. The second time in, 2 of 12 had the special and it still took an hour. Also, since it bills itself as sports bar, the music is way too loud, it’s not even the jukebox.

Valentines Day drinks after dinner at Piece. Why didn’t we stay at Piece to drink? Because Piece didn’t have $ 2 wells, board games, a jukebox and a bartender that looked like she was 20. Good service, clean restrooms, and a projector for the wall above the bar makes for a large arsed TV. They also had $ 1 tacos that night, but we did not indulge. But one day I’m going to eat that taco.

I’m guessing that this is strictly a sports bar and nothing else then? Hit it on an early Saturday night to celebrate a gathering of good friends. I think Jillian was our server and did a good job of keeping us intoxicated. Strong pours of Vodka cocktails and Jameson’s shots. Loud music in the background, sports on TV, lively crowds with lots of lovely ladies and an overall good vibe. We were totally engrossed in each others company we didn’t notice that once midnight struck it was a wasteland. Patrons and pretty ladies poured out to other bars and we were left stranded with a few random dudes at the bar which meant it was time to motivate. Few people ordered different finger foods and most were happy with their orders. Every drink I got was poured with a heavy hand, so I was thoroughly pleased. Not a bad place to hang for drinks, I’d consider revisiting them on a weekend, earlier in the evening.

It was a Saturday night and I somehow invited myself to a friend’s friend’s birthday party, but only to realize I already know 1⁄3 of the people there. Anyway, it was one of those bar hopping nights and our first stop was 6 Corners. It’s a small, sports bar located a door down from Ohm on North Avenue. A few of us arrived around 11PM while everybody else and the birthday boy eventually trickled in within the next half hour. 6 Corners isn’t the typical bar with pool tables and dart boards. They have a wide selection of board games, anything from testing you on vocabulary(Scrabble) to a mini, kiddy gladiator arena to test your«thumb» powers for knock-out. It can get intense especially under the influence of alcohol. Saturdays are $ 15 domestic buckets!(None of us actually took advantage of the promotion but alcohol isn’t expensive to start with. Most of the beer ranged between $ 4 – 5.) In conclusion, 6 Corners is very casual and comfortable. It is not as popular or festive as its surrounding bars and clubs, but the upside is their lack of an invective mess of drunks and lunatics. It was a great way to start off the night.

Stopped by 6 Corners to catch the Bulls-Heat game on Sunday. The menu is small — you have the choice of some appetizers or sliders or sandwich wraps. They think by giving you option of 12 different sauces for your sliders that this will provide some variety to the menu, but it does not. The beef sliders were ok. The pretzel rolls were a tad dry. The turkey sliders were even drier. Could barely get it down even with the wasabi ginger sauce. The spicy bbq sauce wasnt bad, but it wasn’t very bbq and it wasn’t very spicy. The«buttery buffalo» sauce was decidely buttery and nearly inedible. But the worst part about this place was the sound. The volume was cranked up to ear-shattering levels. Yeah, great, we can hear the game over the roar of the bar crowd, but now I can’t hear myself write this review.

What’s better than watching the Bulls win against those«let’s play dirty» Pacers with a bunch of your closest friends? …Nothing really. Life is good. 6 Corners proved to be a great place to watch the Bulls game! There are TONS of huge tv’s all over the place, so there’s not really a bad seat in the house. AND they had the sound on the ENTIRE game. Bless this bar, I swear. Since we were expecting a larger group(like 15 people), the manager and staff came over and started rearranging the tables for us. He also let us know that there were extra stool we could use in case we ran out of chairs. Our waitress was also great… and kept the refills coming. My frend, however, ended up getting the wrong food order… but I think she was fine with whatever she ended up getting. It got suppppper packed in there, so I was very thankful that the waitress gave us all separate checks! With a big party like that? Amazing! Ordering off the menu proved to be confusing for me, so I had to ask the waitress to clarify Oops! So, you can choose a meat(wings, calamari, shrimp) and a side(potato wedges, skins, home fries, salad), right? The«differentiation» factor with 6 Corners is that they have a billion sauces you can choose from and they’ll be served up with your food.(Like, on the side, so you just dip whatever you order into the sauce. Yeah…) I got to choose 3 and ended up with Caribbean Honey, Wasabi something and Garlic Aioli? All were interesting, but the wasabi one was my favorite.

So… I’m going to go with ‘standard’ as a description for 6 Corners. If you’re whiskeyed up enough(much like I was on a very random recent Friday night) and you find yourself in Wicker Park and in desperate need of a bar where you can actually sit down, head to 6 Corners. I’ve lived in the area for years, I go to Wicker Park a lot for dinner and drinks and I’m not a completely oblivious fool, but I never knew this joint existed. And it’s smack on the 6 Corners, right by my beloved Empire Liquors. Seriously… this joint is undercover, hence why you should go there if you need to park your butt at a table for a bit. I popped in at around 11pm on Friday night and there was hardly a soul there. Atmosphere is clearly lacking. This bar is bright, has TONS of TVs, boring tables and chairs and completely uninteresting décor. I’m at the age now where I need some ambience served along with my Jack and Diet, mmmkay? I felt like I was in someone’s basement. And not in a good way. Drink prices? Standard. Not expensive, but certainly not cheap. Despite the lack of atmosphere and bar patrons, there are some redeeming qualities of 6 Corners. The manager couldn’t have been nicer to our party. He even slipped me a $ 5 to play some jams on the jukebox to liven up the joint. There’s plenty of aforementioned seating, too. Perfect if you need to rest your toesies in between stops on your Wicker Park bar crawl. Would I go out of my way to go to 6 Corners again? Probably not. But I wouldn’t say no to grabbing a quick drink there, either.

Hmmm. 6 Corners seems to be a sports bar for the passive sports fan. Sure, there are TVs, and plenty of them. But where’s the cheering, jeering and screaming? Not here. It’s just lacking some soul. Even if I was a die-hard sports fan I can’t imagine I’d want to go spectatoring in a quiet, big room. I do realize they’re still new, so maybe it’s just an issue of getting the word out. The menu is very… interesting. Everything revolves around their housemade sauces, and the layout of the menu is a bit confusing. However, don’t let the lack of menu aesthetics turn you off: the food is actually pretty good. I had the grilled chicken sliders which made me happy and the fries? Oh, the fries… I’m not big on fried potatoes but these I really liked. Especially when you pair them with excellent dipping sauces. Who doesn’t like dipping? I wasn’t drinking the day I was in, but the beer line-up is decent. 6 Corners still has some kinks to work out, but I think they’ve got the potential to satisfy the Wicker Park sports fan.

If you are at the nexus of Wicker Park and Buck-town and you are looking for a Sports bar(and you don’t want Pizza), come here. 6 Corners has lots of t.v.‘s, a massive projection t.v. screen behind the wall, AND they turn on the volume for the game which a lot places don’t. The service was good, the staff was friendly, and the bar was pretty cozy. They do need to get one of those ugly winter doors though to control the draft(hint, hint). Their food menu revolves around sauces. You pick the sauces that you want to go with the food you choose. I had their sirloin sliders and their beef sliders. Both were really tasty. My friend and I had two sauces a piece. Two were very good and two were average. The Garlic Aioli was excellent, as was the Wasabi Mayo. The Terrriyaki was terriyaki and the Buffalo was… Buffalo. Make sure to get the pretzel buns. Yum! If you are looking for a hip trendy neighborhood place, this isn’t it. This is a sports bar, with lots of sports, good food, and a friendly staff. One other plus is that the place is pretty d-bag free(unlike Cans and Tavern). I know I’ll be back.
