I had an early morning flight so arranged for a car to pick me up. The driver was on time, however the first impression was not good. The car was very outdated, dirty, and did not feel professional. Within the first minute of pulling away from my place, the driver says something about their computers being down and asked for me to pay cash. I was completely taken aback — for one, I’d already reserved the car with my credit card online. I said I didn’t have that amount of cash, they already have my card, and why don’t they just charge it when the «computers are up». It felt like a complete scam to get me to pay cash — I also worried about double billing. In the end, I had to give my credit card to the driver and he wrote down my card # on a paper receipt — of which I had to ask for a copy. In the end I was not overcharged, but the experience was very strange and unprofessional. I sent a very appropriate and constructive email with my complaint after my trip, to which I received no response. I ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT USE THEIR SERVICES AGAIN.

AWFUL!!! Idiot driver got lost going downtown from airport to high end hotel, claimed that his gps wasn’t working, which is why he couldn’t find hotel. Then claimed that he lived in the suburbs, which is why he didn’t know downtown. Then, to make it worse, the car reeked of cigarette smoke, so much that I was physically ill by the end of the ride. You’re a freaking driver! You should know your route!!! There isn’t supposed to be smoking in hired cars in Chicago!!! So making a complaint to the taxi commission when they open on Monday!!!

After calling several limousine services, A1 was the only company that truly offered one-​way service. While most companies advertised one-​way service, I found that most required a 3 hour minimum, at a price of around $ 300. Unless I’m going to Champaign, I don’t really need 3 hours for a one-​way service.
A1 happily provided one-​way service at a great price, and without any minimums. A spotless limo with a pleasant driver showed up on time and took us to our destination without any fuss. The total ($ 98) which included tax and tip was quoted to me upon booking, and they accepted my credit card, which was convenient and one less thing for me to deal with the day of the wedding.
My only complaint is that we asked for a white limo, which they didn’t have available, so they said they’d send us a black one. In the end a navy one showed up… kind of random if you ask me. Normally I wouldn’t care, but this was for a wedding and the bride was really hoping for a white car.
