Alfedena Gallery is a relatively new gallery exhibiting mid-career artists and a few emerging artists with strong mature work. From the artists represented, I think there is a strong attraction to non-objective work: abstract, abstraction, and even hints of conceptual art. The gallery has great strengths in graphic and sculptural work by Vera Klement, Barbara Cooper, Lisa Boumstein-Smalley, Diane Simpson and Gary Justis, to name a few. Alfedena Gallery also hires itself out as a small private events space with a full working kitchen. So far, I’ve had pleasant dealings with gallery director John Brunetti, and I’ve enjoyed the mix of artists.
