My boyfriend & I’s favorite Italian Beef spot. Literally less than amile away & they delivery. Win Win. Everything here is delicious. especially the cheese fries

This neighborhood is totally ghetto but I ordered a sandwich here. Was delicious. I went through the drive thru and stepped out of my car momentarily to be attacked by seagulls swarming everywhere. The whole lot is littered with garbage everywhere by locals who just toss their garbage anywhere and everywhere.
No worries, the food was so good. dripping hot delicious sinful pleasure. loaded with hot peppers and spices. I wouldn’t advise dining in.

Just ordered delivery from here, because let’s be honest… I wouldn’t be caught dead in that plaza… but on to the review.
Ordered the loaded fries and and an Italian Beef sandwich. Delivery was pretty quick ~30 minutes. My loaded fries were delicious. Fries and cheese sauce were hot, lots of bacon FTW. I just wish it came with more sour cream. As for the sammich? Blech. It was a greasy, peppery mess. More peppers than meat, which was insane and since when is Italian Beef tough?!!
Ahh, you had one job Al’s.

Took forever to deliver one italian beef. They messed my order all the way up and charged me for things I didn’t get. Pop was melted and watery by the time it got here. They give me a credit for a free beef for the inconvience.

I have been at this restaurant several times — so I love the food. Today, however, was a disappointment: dry, flavorless meat, cold fries and carbonated water instead of the soda pop I ordered.

About a good as the one on Taylor street… plus it has a few stools to sit and eat… get the combo dipped with sweet and hot and some fresh cut fries… you wont regret it!

I was on my way to the only checkers left in Chicago until I seen a sign that said Als beef I began to think when was the last time I had a real beef sandwich so as I was thinking my tasted buds had a change of heart, so I went next door to Als beef and yes it is small but classy the guys in there were very nice and clean I was so interested to taste there food so I ordered a reg beef dip wit hot peppers and frys and a drink it was under 10 dollers which was not bad so when my food was ready I looked around I notice he had stool the young man made me feel so comfortable I decided to eat my beef there so I sat down and began to bite into the sandwich it was incredible the frys made it even better it was so good I took one home for my father and he loved. I will be back really soon I think I found my joint in Chicago Go Als…

This Al’s is even less commodious than the original. I’ve seen bathrooms at Starbucks that are bigger than the whole dining area here. Sure, there are chairs, but they’re bolted to the floor and occupied by people waiting for their orders.
But it’s the same magically-​spiced, paper-​thin beef Al’s is known for, with Gonnella bread, proprietary giardinera, and generous au jus. Fries are skin-​on and made in-​house. Thursday you can get a beef meal deal — fries and a drink — for $ 5. Nice deal.
I think it’s the best beef you can get near Hyde Park. Just plan on getting your order to go.
