My instructor, Victor, is just the best. He is patient, knowledgable, punctual, and friendly. Highly recommend this school to all learning to drive. I passed my driving test on the first try!

I passed my behind-​the-​wheel test on my first attempt and I never could have done it without Victor’s help! Victor is an amazing instructor. I requested him based on a Unilocaler’s review and I’m so glad I chose Amigo Driving School. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I had very little driving experience and zero confidence before signing up for lessons. I’ve always been extremely nervous of driving and I could never get over my road fear, but from just my first lesson with Victor, I started to overcome my road fear almost instantly with the confidence and encouragement that he gave me. Victor is very nice, patient, and professional. He teaches driving skills in a way that improves your confidence.. He is extremely patient with his students, takes a personal interest in helping them with their driving issues and corrects them in a calm and composed manner. His explanations on what I did wrong helped me understood better and helped me to prevent making the same mistakes again. After the first lesson, I felt I’m no longer terrified of driving.
Victor’s instructions are easy to follow. And he focuses on developing a safe driving habit. His rates are very reasonable. He offers pick-​up at your house. You get to drive for two full hours each lesson. Victor was always on-​time for lessons, communicative by phone or text, and gave me useful feedback on what driving skills to work on. I really enjoyed learning to drive with Victor compared to practice driving with others. Why? Because a nice, calm, and patient driving instructor is always preferable over a screaming friend, or family member. :-)
I highly recommend Victor for anyone who’s nervous of driving and wants to overcome their fear, to build confidence and to learn safety driving skills.

The instructor was everything you would want him to be; prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. I felt confident going into my driving test and passed with flying colors. I also did my research on prices of other driving schools and you can’t beat the price at Amigo driving school.

I called a day before to see if someone was available to take me to get my drivers license, right away Brian called me back and meet me at the dmv in the morning. He helped me practice before the test and made me feel really comfortable. A very affordable school and very nice.

Short version: The best school and teacher ever. I have highly recommended this driving school to everyone I know. Worth the money. Extremely happy with my overall experience. I honestly can’t think of anything bad to say about this school. Go for it!
Long version: Based on the other Unilocal reviews, I went with Amigo Driving School and requested Victor as my teacher. I’m 25yrs old and sought out my license for the first time with almost zero experience behind the wheel and none in terms of being out with other cars on the street. Four classes and a road test later I got my license all inside of two weeks.
The minute I’m in the car for classes, its down to business and no time is wasted. Victor used great metaphors to help me understand what I needed to do. I was super nervous for every class but his calm demeanor helped me relax a little after a few practice exercises. He is a very good teacher and knows what he is doing without question. Trust what he tells you. He was very honest when I made mistakes and gave great constructive criticism which is very important if you want to improve. I’m not gonna lie, parking was very difficult for me at first, but he found a way to get through to me and i can do it now with no issue.
It took me a total of about 9hrs to pass (on the first try!) and that includes the one hour of practice you get right before you go in for the test. That hour of practice is critical and really helped me calm down, focus and tighten up my new driving skills. He shows you the route of the actual road test. This school was worth the money no question. Thanks again to Victor and Amigo Driving School.

I am a new driver and I took my driving classes with Brian. His teaching methods really helped me to learn driving. He made me comfortable btw and did not yell at my mistakes, but nevertheless made every attempt to correct the same. I passed my driving test in my first attempt after taking 4 classes with Brian. I would recommend him as an instructor.

I found out about Amigo Driving School through Unilocal (Big thanks to the other reviewers!) last month, and today, I just got my driver’s license!
I was very scared at first that I didn’t even want to pull out into the street. But with each class, my confidence and skill level continually improved! There are times when I’d get discouraged during or after class, but then we’d work on my weaknesses in the next class. Soon, I was able to execute the different driving maneuvers!
Victor taught me how to drive. It is obvious that he has a lot of experience teaching this skill, and has had many different types of students in the past. He is strict and pushes you to really exert yourself, which can sometimes be frustrating (I cried, unfortunately), but in the end, all my hard work paid off.
We drove around everywhere in Chicago! I feel like I had a good sampling of the different driving areas/​conditions, and find that an invaluable experience! He also gave me a lot of highway driving experience, and taught me the skills necessary for highway driving as well. In one of my later classes, we went to my work (at Lemont: we took 90/​94, and then 55, took about an hour each way), and back. Victor suggested that we do this when I told him that I needed to learn how to drive to get to work when the Metra and carpooling don’t work so well anymore. I thought that was a sign that he wants me to be a safe driver both for myself and for others, and not just pass the road test. It was a challenging drive, I thought, but it actually wasn’t so bad and I did well. At that time, I felt that I can actually drive now! It was a really good feeling.
Amigo is an excellent driving school and has surpassed my expectations, and I will not hesitate one bit about recommending it to others. Of course, passing the road test is a critical step in the driving journey, and they made sure that I can successfully do this. But more importantly, they make sure that you are actually a competent and safe driver. Driving schools can be expensive, but with my experience at Amigo, I definitely feel that I got my money’s worth and more.
I was very wussy when it comes to driving, but I managed to do it, and so can you! Now’s the best time! :-D

Based on my experience, I would say that amigo is one of the best driving school in chicago. Although I literally had no experience in driving, Victor helped me in getting the license within 1 week. After analyzing your driving, He will always make sure that you end up correcting the mistakes which you make in the process. He really understands where you stand and will patiently teach you on mastering the skills with his easy techniques. If some one really follows on his advice, then I am sure that they will end up with license in their hands within 4 days even if you have not touched the steering wheel before. If you are now deciding on your driving school, Don’t hesitate and go for AMIGO!

I’m a sort of a nervous driver but I used to be an extremely nervous driver. Thanks to my instructor Victor I’m gaining more and more confidence each class. I highly recommend Amigo.

There’s no such thing as a bad student, only a bad teacher. I was so lucky to find the right one and can’t be more thankful to him. When Victor told me that he could teach me driving a car in one week, it seemed completely impossible. I must say that he was a man of his word. I got my driver’s license on April 1^st and I don’t doubt anymore that everything is possible! :) It took me only 4 lessons to successfully pass my road test on my first try, which was totally beyond my expectations. I am especially happy because my permit expires in a couple of days. I nailed it! Thank you, Victor, for your patience, detailed explanations and precious guidance! You are awesome! Now driving a car seems way easier than before: D Trust me, guys, if I could make it, you can make it too! All you need is a good teacher and a belief in yourself.

Unilocal helped me to decide what driving school should I trust to pass my road test. This is far the most reliable and affordable. Since I already know how to drive, I took the road test package and got an hour extra «lesson». It was worth it since Victor gave me a lot of pointers which you don’t learn from the manual the DMV gives you. So he taught me a lot of pointers which I can use for the road test and apply it as well in «real» life. He makes sure you drive safe to protect yourself and the cars around you. He also taught me to do parallel parking seamless.
So yeah, if you’re thinking of a driving lesson or need a car or instructor for a road test, this is the place to be. Victor is awesome but the rest of his team is reliable as well. They work with integrity and pride. Value for money too!

Brian helped me get my license in no time! With only two lessons to be exact. He was very informative and patient. His teaching methods help me master my turning! Everything he said to do on the test helped me pass! I had a very busy work schedule. However, he did everything he could to get my lessons in. I would definitely recommend this driving school to anyone wanting to learn how to drive! Look no further. You need to sign up for a few classes with him!

Received excellent service from Amigo Driving School. They really went all out to make sure I passed the written and road tests and made sure I had the right documentation to bring to the DMV. Highly recommend!!!

This driving school is by far the best one in town. Brian is a very good instructor. I needed to learn how to drive and Brian taught me everything I needed to know. I took my driving test and passed it with a perfect score and got my license. It’s also very affordable comparing other driving school’s. They have the lowest rates. They are flexible and will work around your schedule. I would highly recommend them.

I learned how to drive in 3 days. Took 6 hours and took the driving test. I passed on my first try. The instructor Brian was very honest and gave me criticisms but I took it to heart and passed my test. He definitely knows what he is talking about. Very Professional.

Victor’s an awesome instructor. He sees not a money bag but a friend who needs help. Great communication and teaching skills, loads of patience and competence that will make even a dumb and terrified student like me to pass the test on the first try! Classes are considerably cheaper than anywhere else in Chicago, besides he’ll give you a deal if you book several classes, which is very convenient and most of the times necessary if you learn to drive for the first time. Go for it and you won’t regret! But make sure to book an appointment in advance, it took me some time cuz they’re pretty busy

1. The car was appalling. It wouldn’t go straight and I when I tried to correct it using the steering wheel, I was yelled at for fidgeting with the steering wheel. It obviously had some wheel alignment issues. Overall pathetic condition of the car.
2. Big Negative! The driving instructor was extremely rude and kept telling me I am going to fail from the word go which made me nervous. And he wouldn’t stop saying that.
Sure…it is cheap… but I got nothing in return.
Make sure you meet the instructor and then sign up. My instructor needs anger management therapy.

I started driving with Victor. And it was just amazing.
He teaches in a very practical, logical and scientific way. I have developed much confidence under him

OH MY! I needed to get my license renewed BEFORE Monday. I called several places and they were charging $ 225 without availability until Monday. I called Amigo Driving school, Victor not only quoted my at $ 150, but also took into consideration my urgent situation and accommodated my request. Upon arriving to school, Victor walked me through both the written test and the driver’s portion. By the time, I parked the car in line for the driver’s exam, i knew exactly what I was getting into, what to do, and what not to do. I passed with flying colors! All throughout the process, Victor was patient, informative, and detail oriented. He went above and beyond– Don’t bat an eyelash about coming here. Great price and fantastic customer service!

Awesome Driving Instructor!
I learned to drive at this school with Victor and I had a great experience from start to finish. I called and they worked with my schedule to fit in lessons later that week. When I had my first lesson in traffic– I was very nervous– but my instructor Victor was kind, patient, and a great teacher! We practised together until I was confident that I could drive safely and pass the road test. I booked the driving exam with the school car. My instructor gave me a lesson right before the road test– he knew the entire route used in the test. I passed on my first try.
