Know nothing about electronics? Need a sound system but you’re still rockin’ Radio Raheem’s boom box? Yeah, me too. First of all, I don’t know nothin’ ’bout birthin’ no babies or putting electrical doohickies together. That ain’t my skill set. Secondly, I sorta miss the NYC of the 1990s (I know DTRT came out in ’89). Um, what? Oh yeah.
I needed a sound system for an event and I was deep in the weeds. I was ready to throw up my hands and have a Joan Baez acoustic free-​for-​all as I rocked myself back and forth in the corner and reminded myself it was alright. I didn’t know what to do. Luckily, a healthy dose of Nachos steered me in the right directions. After translating my needs into tech/​music speak, I contacted the guys at Andys, spoke phonetically, arranged the order, and HAD IT DELIVERED, SET UP, BROKEN DOWN, AND TAKEN AWAY!
What?
All I had to do was point, click, call, order and pay? And, everything got done? Successfully? Hot d@mn. Someone should make a website that connects people to great local businesses or something. That way, if you had something you needed, you could find it, read reviews to assure yourself you’re getting something good, get it and go about your day. I’m gonna be rich!

My experience here was fine except that when I called the day before to confirm my equipment order, the guys there had no record of it.
Luckily all the stuff was available, so no worries, but I was anxious for a minute.
Once there, the guys were curt but helpful, and they told me everything I needed to know.
I admittedly didn’t do much price comparing, but the cost seemed reasonable for what I rented. PA mixer, 2 speakers, 2 mics, stands and cables was about 110 total per day.
Unless I find something dramatically cheaper, I’ll go with Andy’s for my sound rental needs.
