Angler Charters

We booked an outing with Captain Gintas for a bachelor party of 6 at the beginning of June. The morning of was foggy and overcast, so we were skeptical of how well the trip was going to turn out. The sun ended up burning off all of the fog/​clouds for a beautiful day, but it wouldn’t have mattered anyway because Captain Gintas put us directly on the fish. Within 10 minutes of having bait in the water we were catching fish — and that pace kept up the entire day. We caught our limit in Lake Trout as well has a fair number of Coho salmon. Captain Gintas was incredibly knowledgeable and had 20+ years of experience and stories to share along the way. The deckhand Nick was also great and offered tips as well as cleaned/​bagged all of our catch for us for transport when we got back to the dock.
The entire experience exceeded all of our expectations, and we are already looking to book another outing before the end of the season. Highly recommended for a fun and successful trip!

We called last minute and the Captain dropped his plans and came back to boat to take us out. What an amazing trip, we caught our limit of lake trout and there were some TOADS in there.
The biggest one was 35 inches and man was it fat, felt like pulling in a massive log… so fun.
The Captain was spectacular, he cleaned all of the fish and bagged them for us to take home. Great conversation, a wonderful experience, would totally go again.

Great fun on the lake!
I’ve fished with Captian Gintas on the Angler numerous times over the years with consistant success. My most recent trip on the Fourth of July was no exception. The fishing was great and the spectacular view of the city was an added bonus. You don’t have to be an expert fisherman to catch lots of big fish because Cap’n Gintas makes it simple and easy, even for the novice. He’s been fishing Lake Michigan forever and knows where the fish are. He supplies the boat, tackle, bait, and expertise. We supplied our food & beverages. Mother Nature supplied beautiful sunny weather. At the end of the day we had a cooler full of fish, a seriously good time and maybe a little sunburn. If you are looking for a fun, hassle free fishing experience right here in the city I highly recommend a trip on the Angler

Seven of us went out last weekend on a fishing trip with Captain Gintas and his first mate Nick.
We had a blast. Drank some beer and caught over 300 pounds of fish. Holy carp! (Get it… hahaha). Just kidding, no carp. Salmon, trout, etc.
The Captain and mate knew their stuff and taught us some great stuff while providing a really awesome day on the lake. Nick filleted our fish right there on the boat and wrapped it up to take home. He even made some sushi right there on the boat… freaking delicious.
Captain Gintas ONLY does fishing trips. No booze cruises. Which means… if you want to have an awesome fishing trip… this is your guy. That is not to say we didn’t get drunk. We did. But we caught a ton of fish. Big ones. And that was a riot.
