AP Deli

Decided to give A.P. Deli on Madison a try today. There aren’t many places to grab a good corned beef sandwich and the heart of Chicago’s west side isn’t the first place that comes to mind.
The store is clean and the menu offers several items. I’ll only focus on the CB sandwich since that’s what I ordered and came there for.
The sizes are small (6oz), regular (9oz) and large (11oz) served on white, wheat or rye. I ordered a regular on rye with swiss cheese and mustard. They’re were only two issues (1) the corned beef wasn’t as lean as most kosher CB’s and the size of the bread was nearly half the size of the 9oz of meat, so much of it couldn’t be held between the two slices of bread.
Otherwise the sandwich was warm, fresh, and tasty. For just over &10 this sandwich (which came with a dill slice and jalepeno peppers???) can be improved but considering it’s also one of the only decent places to get a CB sandwich its a reasonable place to go for a sandwich. If they address those two issues it’ll be 5 stars.
