Atlas Galleries has been a fixture on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile for decades for good reason. Their vast collection runs deep, from the Old Masters through to today’s finest contemporary artists, spans the course of over 500 years of fine art history. Out of the past emerge fine etchings and paintings by Rembrandt, Durer, Renoir, and Whistler. Hanging next to these works, one will find masterpieces by today’s contemporary world-class artists including Angel Botello, Jean-Claude Gaugy, Ruth Bloch, Romero Britto and«Chicago’s Artist» Michael Cheney, among many other celebrated artists. A stroll through either of Atlas Galleries’ Magnificent Mile locations reveals a treasure trove of art that links the past with the present. Upon entering the gallery, one is essentially taking a trip back through time — one might arrive as an interested pedestrian(such as my first visit) but given a few minutes or a few hours, one either emerges enlightened with a broader knowledge of over 500 years of fine art and history or emerges a fine art collector themselves(as is my case) — enjoying famous contemporary artists such as Michael Cheney traveling back through the decades and centuries of fine art to the likes of Rembrandt — an experience one might only be exposed to through a trip to a world-class museum. The key to any business thriving nearly 50 years strong on «The Mag Mile» is of course the people who work there day in and day out. First of all, Atlas Galleries is a local, family-owned business — one of the last of its kind on N. Michigan Avenue among the likes of Gucci, Prada, Cartier, Tifanny’s, etc,. This is perhaps the most important factor as it really translates to consumers like you and I — they just run their business differently than corporate America — they seem to pride themselves on developing clients for life and to do that they treat their clients with great respect, understanding and kindness, at least that’s been the case for myself and my family and friends’ experience over many years of doing business with them. Also very important is Atlas Galleries’ experienced and well-respected Art Advisors, many of whom have been with the company for over 20 years, who have proven to collectors the world-over(myself being one) that Atlas Galleries is Chicago’s preeminent fine art dealer and among the best and most experienced one can find around the world. Also, the depth and breadth of fine art in their collection also points to their history and experience, and the vast historical and industry knowledge possessed by their team of highly respected Fine Art Advisors is stunning. Just ask about any piece in their gallery new, old, expensive or affordable — you will learn everything there is to know about the Artist, the style and media implemented, the story about the piece itself and anything else you could imagine — the staff members at Atlas Galleries are consummate experts, many of whom have advanced degrees in fine art, art history, architecture, etc. But of most importance to you perhaps(it is quite important to me) is that the staff is VERY friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable without any scent of stuffiness or affected attitudes that one sometimes encounters at other galleries. Every time I enter Atlas Galleries I am greeted right away by a consultant or their welcome staff and within a moment or two someone always asks how they can be of service — certainly not the standard fare at most other galleries I’ve visited. Lastly, but of great importance as well, are the bonus benefits that Atlas Galleries offers: Free shipping with purchases over $ 1000, free local delivery and installation, in-home consultations, interest-free layaway and a full suite of benefits that I dare you to find at any other gallery of this caliber.(I’ve taken advantage of almost all of these great services and I can tell you their moblie staff is top-notch as well!) I’ve said my piece, now I implore you to go enjoy Atlas Galleries as I always do! Disclosure: I am not, nor ever have been employed by Atlas Galleries — I’m just a fine art fan and a big fan of this business and its people!

By far my favorite galley in the city. Their events are great(fun after work activity once or twice a month on Fridays I believe). And their taste in artists is amazing. The staff is always very friendly. If you are at all into artwork, I highly recommend this place as a MUSTSTOPSPOT on your way down Chicago’s magnificent mile.

Ehhh, it’s ok. Small space with very colorful paintings. I didn’t see anything very impressive. Price rages $ 3k — 60K. The bronze scluptures were interesting, but very unoriginal. A lot of full figured women with babies. Overall, bland art.

Art galleries in posh shopping malls usually peddle art that is slick and not too offensive, and that is also the case here. The artworks and sculptures are certainly attractive and well-crafted and colorful, but there is not too much here that I would categorize as cutting-edge or particularly memorable.
