Only because I had to give one star. I have been a loyal customer of the little village location since I was a child. I decided to try the kedzie location and was very very dissapointed in taste aside from that my orders were warm smh. 7 tacos a bitter melon juice $ 30 no thank you.

I remember this place when it first opened. It used to be clean with great food. I visited today and the food is still great but the inside is disgusting. The floors and the grout have layers of crud from what looks like years of not properly cleaning the floors. Most of the light bulbs are burned out and all the heating and cooling vents have dust bunnies hanging and ready to bounce onto your plate. The walls are filthy and need a good scrubbing. This isn’t from a few weeks of neglect, it’s from years of neglect. The food may still be good, but if the areas we can see are this filthy, I wonder how bad the walk ins and food storage areas are where we can’t see.

While I genuinely enjoy the tacos al pastor from Atotonilco’s, I do not care for the horrible customer service. The man at the register(is there often during lunch time) was not friendly and kind of arrogant. I know they don’t take debit cards(I don’t know why they wouldn’t) so I called to place my order and asked if he could give me a total so that I could see if I had enough cash before going to pick up my order. He said he couldn’t give me a total until he rang me up. I know they have an ATM in the lobby, but I have been there before only to find it was out of service. I asked if the ATM was working and he yelled out to a waiter who said he didn’t know. Rather than going out to check to see if it was working, he told me I should just stop by somewhere else to make sure I had enough money. When I came to pick up my order, he barely addressed me other than to take my money and then did not even thank me. There is nothing more off putting than poor customer service. Especially in a neighborhood full of taquerias! Make yourselves stand out for good food AND good service! Please, talk to your employees about treating customers well. A happy customer comes back and recommends the place to others. Yes, your tacos are alright, but your service is not.

Not one of my spots to visit. The food is ok if you’re getting out of a bar or club and nothing else is opened. Otherwise I wouldn’t go. It’s cash only which is a huge minus. The best thing they got are probably the licuados(shakes). Place is always full parking lot is small. Usually parking on side streets. Wouldn’t miss it if it was gone.

The best tacos outside of Mexico. Our absolute favorite. It takes so long to drive here in Chicago traffic but it’s worth it. Ask for the special red salsa they use for the Al Pastor.

Horrible!!! Just plain awful! It was my first time there and the torta de Carne Asada was tasteless! It had no salt whatsoever the meat was extremely dry and there were ants on the table. Service was horrible, the waitor literally forgot half my order, and they do not accept credit cards! To top it off, their atm doesn’t even work! A restaurant should be prepared for everything, especially new customers. Would not recommend.

LoAll tacos were dry and meat was tasteless. We ordered asada taco, picadillo taco, avocado tacos. For a place that sells tortillas wholesale you would think they are good tacos. Not really. Our tortillas were dry and fell apart. Must have been old tortillas. When we arrived, all the available tables were dirty. I had to clean the table myself with the napkins left on the table. Gross. The server was ok. Polite. Food was mediocre. I will not be returning. Very dissapointing. Weired thing, we saw a waiter pouring the horcharta from a dirty bucket into the dispenser. Kinda gross.

Awful, awful, awful!!! I have ordered Tortillas to be delivered for my business for several years from this company. Since the beginning, their customer service has been the worst I’ve seen. They do not come in a timely manner, nor do they even block a window of time to have the product delivered. Basically, they come when it is convenient for them, not convenient for my business nor myself in running it. Recently, they set up a specific day that they will only be in specific areas, I signed up for Friday, which was fine by me. At least I was getting a day! But, instead of coming on Friday, they came on Wednesday and then had the audacity to question why I was unavailable to drop everything and allow them to deliver the product. When I spoke with the driver, he said«why don’t you just order from someone else, I’m the boss here, and I can do whatever I want». I spoke with the supposed manager/owner at the company, and was given a similar response. It’s too bad, I’m happy with the product, but I will never do business with them again.

Their asada tortas are the worst. Dry meat, dry everything. My torta fell apart at how badly it was put together. Never ordering that item from here.

Filthy, dirty restaurant. I am calling bd of health. Oh yeah, hair under my tasteless taco. No gloves, no hair nets, Jo chips. And way way too expensive. Taco Bell would be better, cleaner, cheaper. Not even an apology for the hair… it must be part of the rancid meat. Stay away, so far no diarrhea… what a surprise!!!

I come here for the tacos de asada and strawberry milkshakes. Seriously their milkshakes are great. My sister and I alway order them when we go, and we’re not really milkshake type of girls(if thats even a thing). And their carne asada tacos are great.

If I can give this place no stars I would. First of all I had 2 hairs in my food. That is soooo disgusting they should be wearing hair nets. Second of all the steak has noooo flavor at all. Very disappointing. Hopefully I don’t get food poison from this place.

Tacos al pastor are the best! I ordered take out 2 tortas and 3 tacos, for 3 people. They gave me 4 tiny salsa containers. When I asked for more, he wanted to charge me 30 cents per container! Ridiculous! What a joke! This is the only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars.

Why are people coming on here to review Tortillas bought at Eurofresh!!! Nothing to do with this restaurant!!! And then people talking about«The only way to eat tacos is with flour tortillas»!!! Seriously?! Your palette will be happier at «Chipotle» not at an authentic Mexican restaurant. Atotonilco tacos are delicious and it mostly has to do with the tortillas, they are awesome! The cons is that parking is scarce and they don’t take credit cards.

Por eso estamos como estamos! I’ve been coming to Atotonilco since I was a little kid myself and now I bring my kid here too. Best alpastor tacos ever! And asada is really good too. I love their salsa and licuados! Now I’m hungry.

I thought for sure I’d eat a torta, some tacos, a side of cebollitas, and then consider dessert… but, I started with the order of a torta de carne asada as to not scare my family. It wasn’t pretty, but it was tasty. At the table were tacos of all kinds, tortas, a carne asada plate, agua de tamarindo and horchata. It was all very tasty and filled us up. The prices are very reasonable at $ 4.50 for a torta and $ 11.50 for a carne asada plate which is a huge portion of meat, rice, beans, half an avocado, grilled serrano peppers, and green onions. It’s not fancy, but it’s a good place to get some solid Mexican food. They have a small parking lot, and be warned everyone in the area seems to drive an oversized SUV, so you might not fit in a space or drive down the street with ease. Otherwise, definitely worth hitting up.

Talk about OVERRATED! Well, someone,(namely ME) is finally here to knock this franchise down a few pegs. I ate at the one in Worth off 111th… and since this IS a franchise, one can intelligently assume the food basically tastes the same at all their locations. SInce I ordered 3 different types of tacos there can be NOCONFUSION that this wasnt an off night for them. I ordered 3 tacos on flour(for me, flour is the ONLY way to order a taco… corn overpowers the flavors) Steak, Chicken and the much touted«Al Pastor», ie, marinated pork. Aside from the chicken(which came in chunks instead of shredded and marinated) these were the DRIEST, blandest tasting CRAP tacos Ive ever eaten! The steak and pork were chopped so fine and from being so dry they basically DISINTEGRATED in my mouth as if I were fed sawdust. YUCK. The cheese wasnt even a good mexican crumbly cheese but was the melty no flavor type they use at Pete’s Market when ya order their bland stuffed chili relleno. Dont believe the hype about this place folks — I review mexican food SOBER. ;-)
