We wanted to receive a quote for work on our gangway /​sidewalk.
The salesman /​contractor arrived on time and promptly to provide a quote. However when he reviewed the cracked sidewalk area he could not adequately give an estimate or recommendations on repairing the sidewalk without more detailed instructions.
I offered to show him the previous quotes /​detailed email with the instructions from our condo board meeting on my iPhone while reviewing the sidewalk with him. He said «I can’t read anything on that small phone and I also don’t have my glasses.»
To be fair, I am not an expert on concrete or what exactly needed to be done. That is also exactly why we wanted the contractor to review and give us a quote on fixing the sidewalk.
He requested that someone from the board who is making the final decision be onsite to give him exact instructions on what needed to be done. His concern was there are «too many chiefs in a condo on what needs to be done. I can’t give a quote without very detailed instructions on what needs to be done.»
He said he was happy to come back in a few days, and he was very polite.
However, when I inquire an expert /​contractor to do a quote and ask for their recommendations I expect them to at least provide some details or recommendations. I did’t get any sense of that. I am giving two stars as the person was on time and polite. But not reviewing the details because you can’t read an email on an smartphone, and you don’t have your glasses.

I left them two voicemails and they never called me back, despite their voicemail greeting saying that they try to return all calls within 5 minutes.

I received a quote from this company to repair my front steps. Promptly sent them a signed contract and a deposit check, and waited 3 months after various calls for them to call me back to tell me that they underquoted me on the steps and they could not do the work at that price. They DID send me back my deposit and an additional $ 50, although 3 months later I have to start the entire quote process again. I am beyond irate.
