They charged my wife $ 185 dollars just to cut her split ends and bleach her hair. No to mention she has fine thin shoulder length hair and they still want to add additional costs to color it, what a rip off!

I have super unmanageable hair. I’ve colored it so many times I’m surprised at the amount of hair I still have left. I am also super opposed to getting it cut. with that being said I have to say Ashley is an amazing stylist. every time I want to color my hair it’s goes from one extreme to the other and it’s always a funky color. she always helps me make a decision as I’m usually undecided between a few hair styles and or colors when I walk in. she lets me know what’s best for my hair and I trust her to cut what needs to be cut so my hair doesn’t look dead. people have said the salon is pricey but I defiantly think for the experience you get at BCS and the amount of skill everyone has, it’s defiantly worth it. I live in Tinley park but I always make it down to Bridgeport because I don’t trust anyone else with my hair.

Jessica is amazing! I’ve been coming here for about a year now and I have always been very happy with the results (and I have long hair and a lot of it!). She is always very funny and sweet and the staff has always been friendly. Full scalp massage when they wash your hair. Jessica is also very helpful with products and recommendations whenever I’ve had questions about what to use for my hair thought the year. Great place in Bridgeport to get a quality hair cut at a fair price.

I went to this place couple months ago to get done a hair color, and all I can say is that it was a bad experience and was not satisfied with the results AT ALL.

BCS has to be one of the top Salon places to go to in the Chicago land area. I’ve been going with Jessica for awhile now, and she always leaves me walking happy with a fresh haircut. As it’s hard to find a stylist for a girl, it can be difficult to for a guy myself. I trust her. The crew at BCS is always friendly, helpful, and I would recommend anyone to try this location out.

Jessica Jennings is such a sweet girl! She is the ONLY person I will trust with my hair. She cuts its just the way I want it each time. And she also gives amazing shampoos that will put you to sleep! Everyone at BCS is very talented in their own way, but Jessica has an eye for detail and perfection.

If you want a «bargain» price for mediocre service /​treatment then to each its own, however if you want above & beyond PHENOMENAL customer service then look no further.

i just left BCS and had the worst experience ever. i paid $ 200 for a shit ass dye job. i told the stylist not to take me platinum blonde… guess what… im platinum blonde. i was worked on by 4 different girls even though i made an appt with 1. lastly the dye job itself is shit. the blonde is choppy at the root and now i cant even part my fuckin hair on either side. DO NOT waste your money at this salon. 5 hrs of my life wasted.

I like coming here because they use Paul Mitchell products. I have a very sensitive scalp & if cheap products are used on me I have a horrible allergic reaction.
One of my favorite things is when they wash your hair and they give you a awesome massage. The washing of the hair takes place in a separate room where it is very soothing. There are low lights, candles burning, and the smell is very relaxing. The massage is one of my favorite things here.
The stylist Liz is the owner. She is great. She knows how to use her scissors and how to cut a fantastic pixie.
Color always comes out very nice, rich and glossy.
They always use Paul Mitchell tools which are fantastic. I recommend coming here if you appreciate a good color, a good cut and a great massage while washing your hair.

Erandi is a very talented colorist as well as stylist. I can be a pretty (perhaps very) difficult client at times just because I am so particular and Erandi, over the past years, has always been so patient and understanding. She is also honest and will let you know if something will work or not, we are so lucky to have her in Bridgeport! Bring cash, you still cannot put tips on your credit card though.

My friend recommended me this place. my hair is curly but frizzzy… basically hard to manage. I’ve been afraid to get a haircut… but Gil was amazing. He explained everything he was doing, how to work with my hair, etc. Totally recommend it!

I am weirdest Chinese girl because I love being a red head at least twice a year and this time around the Ombré’ style has come onto the scene and I love that new trend. Gives me a good reason to keep my roots black and my ends red. I like going to BCS salon because I love what Erandi’s work. There is nobody else that can do what she does to hair and to my hair.
It’s been about a month since Erandi (my hair dresser) did my Ombré’ red hair. And it’s still a deep red and I love it. It she did a technique where the red will fade into an orange ensuring it will still look good as it fades a little bit until I see her again. I’m a very picky person to please when it comes to hair. She has been my hair dresses for about 3 years now I wouldn’t go to anybody else. I will be seeing her again in January for a touch up and I will try to remember to take picture of my hair to post next time.

So happy with this salon right down the street! Professional stylists and staff, very knowledgable and so happy with my cut and color. Price is great too!

Great first experience! Gil did a great job at retouching the ombré I had done elsewhere 6 months ago! He brought life back into my color and throughly explained what steps would be best to take to get the best result. I actually like it better than the first time around. His haircut technique is unique and added a lot of bounce to my very flat hair. Customer service was amazing! The young man at the front desk even offered to run out and feed the meter for me. I enjoyed my cup of coffee and the incredible head massage I received in the very tranquil shampoo room. I will DEFINITELY be back. Thank you BCS!

I love this hair salon. They make you feel like a special customer with excellent treatment.
I am a young male, and my cut usually runs around $ 20, which I feel is a good price for an excellent hair cut.
My stylist Jessica is always great conversation while I am getting my hair cut, and she even lives in the area– so knows all about Bridgeport! Not to mention, she is attractive and has a very pleasant personality.
Couldn’t be happier. :)

Jessica Jennings is the absolute best!!! I ONLY trust her with my color & cuts. She listens & 100% cares about the Health of my hair. I have been a client of BCS for 4 years. The whole staff is amazing & talented, Erandi, Paulina, Gil, Liz, Joel, etc. As a fellow professional in the beauty industry it is refreshing to patron a community salon that truly cares. Love!

Well — took my son out of school a little early to make my 3:45 appointment with Gil. By 4:05 he saw me waiting and just looked away. By 4:15 I was out the door, a half an hour later and a quick «sorry» from the front desk personnel (including the owner, Liz, who had previously been so accommodating). Gil is in very high demand apparently to be so overbooked. If he doesn’t want to do a children’s haircut (even tipping at 20% after my last visit), he should let the front desk know and stop booking them.

Change is hard, especially for me I tend to be a creature of habit. Years ago I used to go to Iffergan on Oak, after a few years of it not being convenient for me to get to I did find a new place close to home within walking distance, score! So I had been going to the same place for quite a few years now, and was very happy with them, but now I was faced with the same problem I moved and it’s just difficult to get there, between my being on the other side of town and her being so popular I just can’t seem to get there. So I need to make a change.
As I said, change is hard and the first place I tried wasn’t a good choice. I didn’t review it since it would have been a one, maybe two star review and I don’t think it would have been fair after one try, however I did sense that it wasn’t going to work out.
So here is the break down.
The staff — Very friendly, being that I was in the area I decided to walk in to schedule my appointment, as I started to walk past the window (door is on the side) the receptionist and I made eye contact and she gave me a smile, at this point there was no way for her to know I was even headed in. Today when I came in there were different people at the front desk, but they were just as friendly.
The salon — Clean and inviting, they did offer me a beverage, the place is well laid out.
Liz — One of the owner’s and my stylist today. Friendly and informative, she took the time to listen to what went wrong with my last cut, without being being judgmental, we even both agreed that it can take more than one time to get the feel of someones style. Perhaps this is true, however I do think it’s a listening skill, because she nailed it in one try, I had this same experience with where I used to go too. She did an excellent cut, I love it, better yet my husband loves it, since he has to look at it that’s an important consideration to me. The color, she did a color blocking technique, also an excellent job. She made it look easy, that’s the true hallmark of someone that has skills, people who are pros always make it look easy.
Parking and the White Sox — I didn’t find this to be a problem and my appointment was just about the same time the game started. Here’s a hint, don’t take 35^th. all the way there, take Morgan and while you’re on Morgan park south of 35^th. and walk. There are no parking restrictions on Morgan, and south of 35^th. no meters. Okay, so you have to walk two or three blocks, are you telling me that when you go to your Lincoln Park or Gold Coast salon you don’t have to walk? If so you’re living life right and have some good Karma going on.
Area — Someone said «dicey or sketch» you’re kidding right? You know you’re in Chicago? Maybe you don’t. If you’re worried about it CC is for you.
Price/​products– I didn’t think the prices were out of line for the expertise. I’m a firm believer of you usually get what you pay for. I didn’t feel pressured to buy anything, Liz showed me a couple of products at the end, and I explained that I have plenty now at home and I’ve been using Aveda products which she agreed that Aveda makes good stuff, there was no pressure.
I’m very happy I gave them a try, and I’ll be returning. Next time I’ll walk or just bike down, today I needed my car for other errands after. So if you live on the south side, and want to support a local business give them a try, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

I decided one Saturday morning that my hair was in serious need of a cut. I had been trimming my own hair (well the layers anyway) for a few years. I definitely don’t recommend doing that yourself but in my defense, I do have my cosmetology license but I am not a practicing hair guru at the moment.
Anyway, a friend of mine had mentioned this salon and I decided to call on a Saturday morning to ask if they had any openings. I assumed they didn’t, especially because I called on the Saturday before Christmas! To my surprise, they had an afternoon opening and the person on the phone, a nice gentleman whose name I didn’t catch, was very friendly and accommodating. I was excited for my 1:00 appointment and decided to show up a few minutes early to check out the salon.
The salon itself is really cute and has a modern and comfy feel to it. I was offered a beverage while I waited on my stylist and figured I should accept their glass of wine, I didn’t want to be rude after all =) As I waited in the reception area I was told that my stylist, Erandi, would be out in a few minutes and I didn’t mind at all. A few moments later she came and introduced herself to me and we talked a little about my hair. She said she would come back for me in a few minutes because she was still working on her previous client.
Once it was time for my appointment I explained to her what I’ve been doing myself at home and I mentioned that I didn’t want to cut too much from the length. Erandi convinced me that I needed more than just a trim and said that my curly hair (well curly on a good day; usually it’s more like a ball of frizz) would curl better if it was cut a little shorter than what I initially wanted. Erandi was very friendly and I felt comfortable talking to her.
Towards the end of my appointment I was feeling relaxed and was just observing the other stylists and their hair cutting skills. Everyone at the salon seemed very talented and had their own creative style going on. I was very happy with my hair cut and was happy Erandi convinced me to cut more from the length. I will definitely visit Erandi again.
Overall this place is pretty cool. They have a good selection of Paul Mitchell products, the salon itself is cute and trendy, and the staff is fun and professional. The only reason I gave this place four stars instead of five is because I did end up waiting a little longer than a few minutes. I am not an impatient person and trust me, having worked in a busy salon on a Saturday I know that it can get pretty hectic. I think a client should be made aware if their stylist is running 20 – 30 minutes behind because it can help a client feel more at ease and not assume someone forgot about him/​her. Again, this is not how I felt and I didn’t mind waiting but someone else may not be as understanding. =)
