I called to make sure someone would be there. The gentlemen assured me he would be there until the top of the hour. Upon arrival, I discovered he had left 20 minutes early. Thanks to the hotel concierge, I received a great shine across the street at Nordstrom.

admittedly, I’ve never let anyone else polish my shoes, but today i had my burgundy wingtips while staying at the intercontinental. so i got them polished! the guy was helpful and polite. answered my questions (tips so i can do it myself). was such a treat!

I normally drop off my heels for repair at the 35 N. Wells location. I decided to take a chance on this one while out and about on my lunch hour. The little room is off to the right as soon as you enter the Hotel Intercontinental lobby. At first, I thought it was only a shoeshine service here because there wasn’t much of an intake desk area like the other place.
I was wrong. I forgot the nice guy’s name, but he took my shoes and gave me a shoe repair ticket. He told me to wait for a call within a couple of days. What? A couple of days? Yes! I dropped off on a Thursday, and my repaired and (complimentary) shined heels were ready for pick up the following Tuesday. Sweet!
By the way: pickup is at the same location. There was a miscommunication on my part. The Wells location called to confirm my shoes were ready but didn’t specify where they were. I automatically assumed that’s where I would pick up. Be sure to double-​check!

My man Lynn made my shoes look like new! I couldn’t stop staring at them after he was done with them. Before they were scuffed up and the color wasn’t uniform.
Lynn is a hardworking older gent who takes pride in what he does. And it shows! The shine was only $ 6 and so I gave him a $ 3 tip.
