Falafel Pita is fresh as can be and always a hit. Glad to see them in Lincoln Park where you can grab a parking spot for a quick in and out. I’m stuffed, yet I don’t feel guilty about the meal. I don’t get here nearly enough! YUM!!!

Really good middle eastern fast food. You go to the counter and can see all the fresh ingredients to choose from. I ordered the box with chicken shawarma with all the toppings. For $ 10 my lunch was filling and delicious, will definitely be stopping by again in the future.

I got their flight which consisted of a falafel pita, a chicken pita, and a steak pita. The steak pita was my favorite by far. They also offer a cup of Merkt’s cheddar sauce on the side of your fries for $ 0.99 — whattttt!!!

The food is absolutely fantastic. If you are looking for Mediterranean head over to this place. I have always enjoyed the food and customer service here, but last night they went«above and beyond» when I had an issue with my order. This place showed that they care about their product and customers.

I’ve had a better lunch at BenjYehuda a few years ago — this time around, I got the BenjYehuda flight: three mini pitas w/a lot of fries. The fries smelled delicious, attracting the attention of my colleagues at lunch, but they were unfortunately overcooked. Same deal with the chicken and beef schwarma — smelled and looked good but pretty dry. Falafel was not bad but all three mini pitas were overloaded with the Jerusalem salad, which was mostly shredded cucumber and tzatziki. Pretty disappointing when my first impression of this place was so positive.

Excellent healthy option in a great location. Like someone else said — a Middle Eastern Chipotle. You pick you type of wrap or get a box. I’m not eating bread right now, so I got a box. You can get rice or lettuce or both. Then pick your protein: beef, chicken, falafel or a mix!(I really like not having to actually decide on just one.) Then there are many different salads and fixins to pile on: hummus, baba ganouj, those delish middle eastern pickles, fresh tomatoes, red onion, carrot salad, cucumber salad, corn salad and beautiful red cabbage. Top with hot salsa(special!) and/or tahini. Such a fun way to eat– mix different foods on the fork. Every thing I had was great. And a lot of food for $ 8.49. They also have fries and lentil soup on the menu, but I can’t imagine ever being able to eat more than the generous box. The space is pretty good. No table service — you order then sit. Comfy booths. Good people watching through big windows. Loud hip hop and dance music seemed a strange choice in the middle of an afternoon. Service was mixed. A tall, dark blond guy who appeared to be the manager seemed annoyed to have customers. Maybe grumpy because they were almost empty? Tip: maybe be nicer to the customers you do have… Not exactly rude, though, so no stars deducted. Everyone else was great, especially the young Latina woman who coached my through how it works my first time. I will definitely be back!

Portions were small ! And unfortunately the tall guy behind the counter was incredibly rude and short with me ! The food was just ok. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Holy mother Teresa! What I was thinking when I continued to place my order after the blond tall guy behind the counter gave me an attitude for asking about the discount listed on the board outside. Why would you bother yourself with advertising a discount if it’s causing you discomfort when customers trying to use it. Life is too short to do this to yourself. Anyways, I passed on the discount and proceeded to place my order and OHH dear Obama Mama! The chicken laffa was extremely bad beside the fresh cucumber, it tasted like a leftover. The only good part was the fries. They were good. This place mastered the making of fries. Please, if you ever step a foot in this place, DON’T get the the nasty cheddar cheese they offer when ordering fries. It’s very disgusting cheddar cheese –out-of– the can– that tasted like it’s been sitting out all day. I ended up paying $ 11 and some change for such bad food and bad service. Lesson learned! So if one day I was left out, butt naked in the desert and BenjYehuda was the only place there, I would get the salad and the fries. That’s about it. But for now, there are a ton of great places to choose from in Chicago other than BenjYehuda. One last advise. Do yourself a favor and never leave the raw chicken meat on the rotisserie without turning the heat on it and having it cooked. Leaving poultry meat hanging on a rotisserie uncooked at a room temperature with no heat is a recipe for disaster and would easily cause a massive food poison. I was shocked when I noticed that while I was half way into my chicken sandwich! Scary!

I was excited when this location opened based on the recommendation of a friend who kept raving about the food from the downtown locations. Well I have been here a handful of times and it never disappoints! Definitely feels like a taste of Israel in Chicago. I like the chicken shawarma but on the laffa vs the pita since it stays together a lot better. The sandwich is made in front of you and you can add the things you want to make it your own. French fries are also very crunchy and worth the calories. Took my best friend there yesterday and now you have another fan!

How has no one told me about this place?! We walking by when the Hebrew-ish font caught my attention. The staff was so friendly and helpful for it being my first time. It’s not too hard to figure out how to order considering it’s set up like a Middle Eastern Chipotle. The Jerusalem Salad was to die for. To really get my point across, my carnivorous husband and sister-in-law ate ALL their vegetables… willingly. The ingredients are so fresh and portions so large you’ll probably be bringing some home. Their wolf logo still confuses me, even with the explanation painted on the wall.

It’s kind of interesting how I enjoy this place more than the two Loop locations(Van Buren and LaSalle). Maybe it’s because of the lack of huge crowds and hurried eating. But I’d like to think that the food and the extra care service is what makes me lean this way. I’ve been here a few times now, and find that the fantastic fries I experience in the Loop locations might actually be even better here. The cheese sauce they provide here seems to be tastier, and stronger flavored. I’ve order the chicken and the steak box here and the meats were both pretty flavorful, but not anything special from a Mediterranean fare. The toppings are very fresh, and excellent. The hummus provides a great creamy balance, while the crunch of the fresh veggies make it all tie together quite nicely. I usually get a little more hummus and corn and the staff is willing to go the extra mile to make sure I’m satisfied. So I think they earn an extra star for that. Overall, the meat is good. Not anything over the top. The fries are AWESOME. The additions are fresh and delicious, and the price is about the same as a fare from Chipotle(with about the same amount food). Thing that puts this location in particular over the top is the street parking and the quick, polite, and patient service.

eh. I want to like this place but sultans is better. I like by better because there are many veggie choice and more variety, however the price is quite high for a portion so small. I got the falafel box and it was good, until I got to the falafel. jeez Louise it was like a ball of salt, literally. saltiest ball of falafel I’ve ever eaten in my life. not coming back!!!

This place is an great addition to Lincoln Park. The service is extremely fast, the restaurant is clean and best of all the food is amazing. I opted with the falafel box per the many Unilocal reviews and it lived up to my expectations. These guys do not hold back on the toppings. Plus no upcharge for adding extra of a veggie is a plus! When they handed me the box it was so heavy filled with food I expected it to be pretty expensive. When they told me it was under $ 9 for all the food I was shocked. I would absolutely go back!

BenjYehuda is a phenomenal addition to this stretch of Clark Street. Quick, enormous servings, and fresh ingredients, this has become my new go-to. The ordering style at BenjYehuda is very Chipotle-esque, with the option to choose a pita, laffa(large flatbread), or box. I typically go with the box option and it is definitely two meals. For the box, you can choose half rice and half lettuce which I really like. The steak and chicken are both great options, and then come the veggies. I love that BenjYehuda uses(what seems like) authentic Israeli recipes for their accompaniments. Options like hummus, Jerusalem salad, corn, carrots, cabbage, etc., all complete the meal. If you like spicy, do the hot sauce. However, it’s HOT, so proceed with caution. As I mentioned earlier, you get heaping portions of all the toppings so this box ends up lasting a while. BenjYehuda also has a really tasty spicy lentil soup that I recommend. Overall, there aren’t many places on this part of Clark to grab something quick and filling, BenjYehuda definitely fills that void. Highly recommend for a quick lunch or dinner that will satisfy a Middle Eastern food craving!

I was overjoyed to find out about this location when looking on Grubhub Friday evening and especially as the delivery charge was only $ 1! I was obsessed with the Lasalle location when working over there. Bf and I both get the chicken rice box with all the fixings minus the pickles. We also get a side order of falafel and ½ lb. of fries with merkts cheddar. After placing the order, delivery said 60 – 75 minutes, in which I wish I knew beforehand, as I chose Benjyehuda in the first place partly because I knew that the food would be ready fast with little preparation. The given ETA was after the place was already closed so I contacted Grubhub, and they contacted the restaurant and they said that it was actually 10 – 15 minutes less. I was a little more relieved but still discontent, as that is a long time for casual food. Anyways, I was happy that the food overall came in about 40 minutes, which was acceptable. Food was exactly as we ordered and tasted amazing as I remembered it to be. Even having a large appetite, this was a lot of food. This was my first time trying their falafel. It was good but different. I’m not used to tasting sesame seeds on the shell. All the toppings in the rice box were fresh and chicken was juicy. Fries were perfect, especially when paired with that creamy dreamy Merkts cheddar. It was nice that they gave us an extra sauce of each. While being a spicy addict, I get my sauce mixed in and add in a little extra. But I do admit that their sauce is actually quite spicy, as they always use fresh chili peppers, so ordering it on the side isn’t a bad idea. You get a lot of tasty food for such a great value!

I agree with other reviewers, their fries are pretty fantastic. I skipped out on the side of cheese, but I’ll be more adventurous next time. I got one of their steak wraps and I thought it was great. The portion was more than enough for two meals and the ingredients tasted fresh. Overall, it was good but nothing special. The only reason its four stars instead of five is because of the price. Its a little high for what you’re getting, and in comparison to other establishments that are the same.

Got the chicken shawarma pita for $ 5.99, it was a lot of food but even with the provided to go fork it was hard to eat. The pita got really soggy and the bites seemed to be either all meat or topping, come on! I was expecting more flavor from all the fresh amazing toppings they let me put on, but I wasn’t wowed. Will be back to try the box which is served over romaine lettuce!

My parents always told me that if I really, really wanted something bad enough, all of my wishes would come true. Well, not to knock my parents, but I am still waiting on my millions, my penthouse, my fame, and a puppy. Thankfully, one of my wishes came true and that, my friends, is the opening of my favorite Loop lunch spot, BenjYehuda, in Lincoln Park. Errmagerd. I watched and anxiously awaited the opening of this location. They actually opened on the day I was doing a Saturday Funday with friends celebrating two of our friends who are moving to Pittsburgh. I was like, mmmm I am so hungry and I need BenjYehuda now, but then I was like, no, I can’t get it now, I just ate lunch like an hour ago and I am not even hungry and my body and mind are just playing tricks on me saying that I am hungry when I really am not. So I sat in the window of Tin Lizzie and just dreamed of how, so very, very soon, I would get my hands on some Benj. My co-workers always joke about who found the beacon of Mediterranean goodness by our office, because it really is life-changing, and your culinary world will be turned upside down. My go-to is the chicken pita. My preference includes a dollop of hummus, a scoop of the jerusalem salad, a load of tomatoes and carrot salad, a heap of the red cabbage, and some of their flaming hot holy crap this tastes like burning sauce. Sometimes I put the corn salad in, too, but it has onions. Red onions. But sometimes ya feel like a corn? It’s delicious. Oh, and you can’t miss out on the fries. It’s like they leave them in the fryer for at least 15x longer than is recommended for cooking so you get a whole sack of those greasy crunchy fries. No soggy ova heeeere. I generally try to avoid fried food but sometimes you just have to look at yourself and say hey, I work really hard, I exercise whenever possible, and I brush my teeth 2−3x a day. Fries, be mine. So I do. But only every so often. If you’re really hungry or crave adventure you get yourself that yehuda flight. It’s two meals and you get to try their steak and their falafel. Both are great. Actually, I never even really liked falafal before until this place. Must have forever now. Share with a friend, or enjoy it later during secret eatings time. Just don’t complain when you’re stuffed, foo. It’s like a fun Mediterranean Chipotle. It’s super cheap, too. Like, you won’t spend over $ 10 cheap. And you’ll love it.
