Awesome Burek, we get it frozen to go and make it at home all the time. So delicious. Must try burek.

This was the first time I had Serbian food and it will not be my last. I brought 3 other friends(2 being not very adventurous) and everyone loved it. They also have Serbian beers that are 24oz for about $ 5 which is awesome. So if you like good bread, sausage and beer come here.

–This is the only coffee shop that has ever made a design in the foam of my latte. –If you go during lunchtime, there is the added benefit of lots of hot Serbian guys to look at, if you’re into that sort of thing. –The food is excellent, and reasonably priced, and the service is fairly good.

LOVE this place! Coming from a Yugoslavian background, this is authentic and delicious! I came here all the way from Detroit, and I must say this is my favorite Yugo/Serbian place. Will be going back again soon! :)

My coworker and I were on a weekend trip to Chicago before our week of training for work started. Famished from an early morning flight and traffic from the airport, we made this stop our first one in the city for some nourishment, even though it was out of the way from where we were staying. I was delighted that I was surrounded by locals, who occupied many of the tables, eating their own breakfasts and drinking coffee, chatting away in their native languages. You know a place is good when people of the same ethnicity as the food eat there and seem to enjoy it. After perusing the menu, we both decided on the beef goulash. In no time, we were both brought steaming bowls of hearty stewed beef with spices and delicious mashed potatoes, along with a basket of bread, which I did not eat but left to my coworker. I almost finished the whole dish, but I was unable to get through the last few bites due to my stomach not being large enough! The waitress was very nice and helpful, and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I will go back next time I am in town.

Went in on a slow Sunday night. I think they were expecting more traffic as they seemed a little overstaffed. Nonetheless, I ordered a bacon wrapped Pork sausage and a Nutella crêpe. Both were excellent. They have some tvs so if you want to catch a game it wouldn’t be a horrible spot. Music was not really my style, bit of a mix between some lite fm and some Serbian type tunes. All in all, pretty good.

How could I have lived in Irving Park for the past two years and never gone to this little gem of a place? We decided we wanted to try something different on a Saturday afternoon and since it was close to home we give it a try. How happy we are that we did! The Décor inside is a bit dated. However, there was not one table free when we arrive. This was a big indicator that the place was excellent! And that no one cares how it looks inside as long as it’s clean! The staff was attentive and answered all our questions with regards to the menu. We decided on the cucumber salad to start. It was the perfect blend of vinegar with fresh cucumbers! Delish… We then had the spinach & cheese buaka. The phyllo dough was flaky & buttery. The perfect ratio of spinach & cheese. It was large enough for both my husband and I. We will definitely be returning to try other items on the menu. And it’s great that they are open until midnight!

I’m not of any former Yugoslavian background. I heard about the place and it happens to be on my way home on Sunday nights. The ladies behind the bar are friendly and open to giving suggestions if you’re not familiar with the menu. Bring a big appetite if you’re gonna eat here because the portions are big and delicious. I would personally recommend the schnitzel with a side salad of roasted red peppers. The rolled schnitzel has a melted cheese filling that will make your mouth water.

I was looking for a Serbian place for a school project and we ended up in Beograd Café. The staff was nice and welcoming especially that not all of them speak English very well. We enjoyed the little store attached to the back of the café as you can buy Serbian products. We also found a Serbian directory for North America and Canada that contained an array of information that any new Serbian immigrant would find essential and it was FREE(over 300 pages)!!! If you are a teacher and have a new Serbian family, get that directory. After looking around, we decided to stay and taste some of the food. My bf had their cheese burek and homemade yogurt, while I had their capricciosa pizza. The food was definitely tasty! We would come back again if we are in the area. Street parking.

First time eating Serbian food, I went with the salad and Jelen beer bottle. The bread they serve is so good and the beer is up to par. I sampled the spinach and cheese burek which is delish but I’m trying to watch what I eat these days so make sure you hit the gym if you go after this puppy. That day in particular service was slow, their system was down. But I wasn’t complaining I was sitting directly infront of the tv watching LaLiga game. Def recommend and I will be coming back the quality is superb!

Best burek ever. THEYSHOULDRAISETHEPRICEONBUREK… Crapes aka palachinke are the best srbijan desert they have here, I have to admit I even had to call my mom overseas and tell her that I love her and that the burek she makes«out of this world delishes» is now my second favorite. Lol. Ok now I’m sticking to my 5 stars review just because of these two food items however the waitresses that work here. Could be a little more friendly and smile here and there and check back with clients ME, more often it took her 25 min after my order to come back and ask me if I want a drink. I had to call her several times before I can get her attention. Anyway. The food here is a real reminder of back home. Thank you again and don’t forget to order the Crapes with Nutella and banana

The food was tasty. We got the spinach and cheese burek as well as the cevapcici(ground meat sausages). The cevapcici were amazing 5 stars and the burek was 4 maybe 3.5 stars. I would definitely go here again. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it took us an hour to get our food at lunch time. Aside from that, I highly recommend it. Quick tip: outside is more like a smoking area, so if you hate cig. smaoke while eating, I’d avoid it while others are outside.

Cheap foreign beer. Friendly but not overly attentive service. Wi-fi. Plentiful seating and table space in the backroom. Grilled meats(get the spicy pork sausages), flaky stuffed pancakes called burek, and large wheels of warm seasoned bread to accompany it all — Beograd Café is a happy place and I only hope one day to have room for dessert.

Yum! We ordered the spinach and cheese burek — a delicious warm package of pastry that if more than enough of a meal for one person. We split the Beograd special, which has enough meat for at least three people. For a sense of scale, it came with two loaves of bread the size of my head. The spicy pork sausage was by far my favorite, although nothing was bad. Good food, wifi and outlets, beer, and large space? This would be a great study or hangout spot if I lived nearby.

I can’t say enough about the food. Whenever my friends and I stop by for dinner, we get Beoburgers and spinach/cheese burek — absolutely delicious. However, the service is sorely lacking. I am not of Serbian descent, and have noticed that this seems to contribute to the slowness and what many have termed ‘indifference’ of the waitresses. This past time I went, I waited 20 minutes for the waitress to refill my drink while she stood and chatted it up in Serbian with a table of customers. To make myself clear, this was not an isolated incident; each time I go, I have a similar story to this one, as do many others. I will most definitely be back for the food, but the servers should NOT expect tips from me if they continue to act in such a rude fashion.

I can finally say that I experienced Serbian and Regional Balkan cuisine! I truly can finally say such a thing. I never knew that I wanted to say this, but thanks to Beograd, I am happy to say as such. I am convinced that long standing families that cook together will produce the most delicious food. Beograd has been a family owned and operated business since 1984. Just a look around the facilities and you will see family photos as well as influential history icons of the Serbian and surrounding cultures. There service is top notch as well. Maybe I am weird, but I do not mind a person that comes around to check to see if my glass needs refilling, while also allowing me to actually eat my food. They do not rush you out, because it seems as though they enjoy having a person eat their food more than they are interested in making a dollar off the person that walks through the door. My service was simply of this nature: 1. What would you like to order? If you do not know, I have some suggestions for you. 2. These items will take X number of minutes. Would you like a drink until then? 3. Here is your food, is there anything I can get you before you start your meal? Would you like the drink refilled. 4. Many minutes later, after several staff passed by and ensured the drinks were filled: How is the food? Please stay and enjoy it more. That is a great dining experience. Drink full without me having to flag down a person to do as such, plus a competent server that truly knows the best items on the menu for a person that has never been to the area before! Learn how to hook in a potential return customer! The food is grand here. I mean that texture, portion and most importantly, taste are prevalent here. I had the following items: Appetizer: Shopska — tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, onions and feta cheese. Think of this as a really fresh salad. Spinach Burek — Filo pastry filed with a blend of ingredients. This is a House Special, and I recommend this to anyone that is a fan of quiche or any quiche like items. The main dish was a meat extravaganza. I was presented the mixed sampler plate which comprised of three chevapchichi, two spicy pork sausages, one pork chop and pljeskavica. All items consumed at Beograd are made in house. All of them. Every item. There is a meat market on site, so even they cut the meats themselves. Freshness is an understatement. As a fat man, I am telling you that the salad, Shopska, is phenomenal! There wasn’t even salad dressing on it. The salad blended together so well to whereas you did not need anything more than the light olive oil that they placed on it. If eat continued to eat this, I would lose my fatness, but it is so good, to whereas I am not sure I would mind! The spinach Burek had a nice balance of cheese, spinach and love. This dough present item had nice flakiness and was very pleasant to eat. Being a fat man, I prefer to munch of meat filled, meat grilled or meat of some form items. All in all, you got what you came to expect from a meat mixture, but in my opinion, the spicy sausage is the true winner out the entire platter. The delicate blend of spices did not add unnecessary heat to your mouth, while providing your taste buds with happy times of chewing bliss. The dessert, The Ice Cube, was a great blend of cake, custard and love. Not sure what to say about it besides that! Was not heavy at all, and very well balanced with texture and taste. There are not enough positive time and energy to truly explain how happy I am with this place. I have never physically been to Serbia, but my taste buds have. My taste buds says that I will be happy if my Southern Soul had to stop in that cold place for a little while! The mixed grill plate, just like all their BBQ, takes 20+ minutes to prepare because of them not precooking anything. I was shocked to see how much food you truly get with your order, and how little the food actually cost. You can get a fat stomach here, if you don’t live on Shopska, and maintain a fat wallet here. I showed up to this place VERYLATE night, and the inside was still half full, and the plenty of outside seating was completely full. That is how good the food is and how good of a value this place is. I never heard the staff ask anyone to leave once! For all of my readers that drink alcohol, they have Serbian brandy that is supposed to be really good. This place is Fatman approved and frugal meter approved. Get here now!

Walking into this place is like walking into another world. Straight into Jugoslavija. The food is freshly prepared,(the cheese burek, the beef burek, cevap, all are flavorful, authentic, and simply put, AMAZING), and the selection of desserts and espresso coffee are great. Love the cappuccinos here because they are very very strong(typical Balkan style). The staff are kind and knowledgeable, and I prefer the laid back European style service than someone coming every 10 minutes to check how the food is, while your face is full with food! There is a market attached to the restaurant where you can buy typical goods of Srbija and neighboring countries. Great place, I wouldnt miss this if I was in the Chicago area again.

Amazing, just as promised. Feats of culinary deliciousness at crazy reasonable prices, a non-pretentious chillax setting, and free wifi with plenty of nearby parking-what’s not to love?! I finally went there for my first time tonight and I can already tell it will be a regular late night study/work spot for me. Yup, there’s EtOH, but at least on a Monday night, it was chill enough to study even after 10pm. And I witnessed that folks were able to meet up with friends and have a nice place to chat. Highly recommended!!!

On a random morning, I stopped by since I was just down the street fixing my car and decided to try the crepes while busting my study on at the same time. I got the Crepes Eurokrem which is essentially a Serbian version of nutella. Weirdly enough… I also had a banana with me, hence the decision to try the crêpe. Holy goodness — SO good. What a steal at just around $ 3! The mixed fruit tea was delicious too and it’s so nice that they bring you honey with the tea. Beograd has quite the eastern Europian look to it inside, especially the gorgeous ceilings. Around late morning, a bunch of families also came in and no one was speaking any English. I wish I could tell you whether they were speaking Serbian, but alas, I have yet to master most of the European languages… but if it was Serbian, it only speaks for the authenticity of Beograd! Great service, very cool and new ambiance for me. Lovely outdoor area to dine as well. Will absolutely have to return to check out the food(which will determine whether my rating will be bumped up a notch).
