Blowtique Salon

I went to Blowtique for a blow out before my Bridal Shower, it was gorgeous and lasted all day even to the next day. My hair looked so flowy and voluminous. Danielle, who did my blow out is amazing and super fast, I told her she had been one to blow out my hair the fastest ever. I have very dense, thick, curly hair which often holds on to moisture, but it was effortless for her! Definitely recommend this location and I will be back!

I had a great experience at this salon. Traveling from out of town, I ended up without my regular products due to a luggage mishap. I had a wedding to attend and three days of Chicago wind on the beach hadn’t been kind to my hair. Victoria perfectly (and patiently) calmed my naturally curly and absolutely knotted hair. The soft curls she put on have held up great and I’d recommend the salon to anyone. Very fair price as well.

Amazing! Came to Chicago for a conference and needed to get a great blow out that would last a couple of days and make me feel my best when I was presenting in front of a large crowd. They went above and beyond… and I got three days out of it! Amazing!

My hairdresser moved away, and I’ve been searching for a replacement. for a long time. Search is over!!! I never thought I’d find someone that could do my hair as well, especially since she knew it from having done it for so long. Steven gave me a full cut and color today, followed by Blowtique’s signature blow out service, and THIS IS THE BEST MY HAIR HAS EVER LOOKED! Thank you STEVEN!!! The color gods have blessed you with an amazing talent!

I saw Stephen yesterday on Huron. He was charming and did a great job with my hair. I’ve been to both Blowtique locations and have never been unhappy with the result. Their stylists are friendly and professional. Booking is easy and the cost is very fair. What more can you ask for?

I had my first ever blow out at Blowtique. Initially I was blown away (pun intended) by Blowtique. They greeted us with coffee, water, and a fresh fruit tray. The décor is fancy and beautiful and it was a fun environment. One by one they got to work on the girls of the bachelorette party I went with. The shampoo was relaxing and the products they use smelled amazing. My stylist was friendly and personable, carried on a conversation with me the whole time. When I walked away from the chair my hair looked amaze.
It literally fell flat as soon as I stepped outside. There was no volume to my hair and my hair was completely straight! She never used hair spray, just a bunch of other products she claimed would hold my hair. Obviously not. It looked so good for the 5 minutes after she finished but I didn’t pay $ 35 bucks for it to look good for a minute.
I was the happy one out of the group of girls, if that tells you anything. One friend didn’t even have her hair washed by the stylist! She told her she wanted loose curls and walked away with ringlets. She was in the chair for 10 minutes, didn’t get a shampoo, and was still charged $ 35.
Umm ok. Another girl had her makeup done by an employee without a license to do makeup. I don’t know what the rules are in IL for that type of thing but pretty sketch.
Overall I feel like Blowtique is really good at looking like they’re amazing but honestly we were disappointed.

Great experience! Visiting from Las Vegas… Oscar nailed my hair and the way I like to style it. Everyone was so polite and accommodating! Thanks for making my hair look great!

I totally put myself in his hands and he created a perfect hairdo. He was thoughtful and attentive and I left the salon with a smile.

I came for a bachelorette party and traffic was so bad. I ended up being 20 minutes late. I was told they wouldn’t do my hair, even though one of the girls in the party was just sitting down to get her hair washed. They didn’t try and make any effort to help in the situation. One of the girls there was telling the stylist my update as I was coming in, but the effort was in vein and I ended up having to sit there while 3 stylists stood around and chatted about me being late. Definitely never coming back!

I’ve been to this location for a blow out and trim (very satisfied) but the color and cut I received today by Stephan was amazing. Not only is he personable, he listens and offers insight. Probably the best complete highlight I’ve ever received in any city (Denver, Portland, Phoenix, etc). And the salon was not pushy (number one reason I don’t go back there a salon). Highly recommend.

I love Blowtique! They are so accommodating and talented. I love the atmosphere, and it was very clean. All of the stylists are wonderful. Today Eimear did my hair and she made me look and feel great. They also have amazing events :) I love the people there! Can’t wait to go visit them again. They also do color and cuts, which I had no idea about! Thanks for great service.

Every I come here I have to see Victoria she impressed me with how she repaired my damaged hair teaching me how to upkeep at home. The staff there are incredible but Vicky is just a star she’s going places!

I have been coming here since they opened. I have always been extremely impressed with the service and professionalism I have received. My stylist Victoria is amazing! My blowouts are always perfect.

I made an appointment 2 days ago for a blow dry. Day of my appointment, when I checked in, I was told my stylist is running late. And then I had to check in with the receptionist 10 mins into waiting who then informed me she doesn’t know much and most likely the stylist is not going to show up.
I understand unexpected circumstances can happen. But, I was hoping the receptionist could have been a little more helpful.
She just watched me while I frantically called nearby blow dry places.
I have been a loyal customer for years and I was truly disappointed.
If dry bar wasn’t able to accommodate me, I would have been totally screwed.

I love Blowtique! There is no other place in Chicago that offers such incredible customer service as they do. The pricing of their services is awesome as well. I have a few fave stylists, including Victoria. My hair always comes out looking great and I leave feeling beautiful. I highly recommend booking a blowout!

This place isn’t quite nasty, but it isn’t clean, either. I saw no signs of brushes and combs getting cleaned, and the furniture is all kinds of dinged up.
But it’s more the attitude of the people. When I checked in, I was told my person was just finishing up. I looked over at the hair being done in the only occupied chair, and thought «OK, that looks good.» But 5 seconds later, I’m assigned to someone who had just been hovering over a computer.
I thought she was bored. She asked at least three other co-​workers during my blow-​out when the end of their shift was; if they were coming in tomorrow. And I don’t know if I’m just too old and don’t get this generation, or what, but when they answer each other with eye rolling, I just think everyone hates their job. it doesn’t give me a lot of confidence. Plus, the place had 6 employees, maybe, that night; and except for my stylist, they were all on their phones the whole time.
Which might explain why my email reservation request from 2 days ago was never responded to.
But my blow-​out was *not* top notch. It started off bad, with my hair wash. My stylist was only actively using her right hand, and only on one quadrant of my head. Scrub scrub scrub. Then the left hand would sort of make a circle. Scrub scrub scrub. Then the left hand would make a light circle. It was irritating — so much so that I asked her to start from scratch and make sure she washed my entire head, and not just one part. To her credit, she listened to me and re-​washed. And the re-​wash was much better. But, yeah — not rocket science. Wash. The. Whole. Head.
The blow-​out and curl was ok. Nothing special. But then she said I was done, and she hadn’t even done my bangs — like at all. Everything was flowy and finished, and then I had a lump of bangs.
It was a waste of time and money. And I would not be upset if I got a refund, frankly.
I like their choice in hair care products: Oribe and Kerastase. That’s good stuff.

I am usually a big fan of blowouts, but this one was a waste of an hour and $ 35.
When I first sat down she asked me if I needed her to wash my hair. I said uh yeah… didn’t think you could do a blowout without washing it first? She just rolled her eyes at me…
I then asked for the signature blowout with extra volume on top, and my hair was as flat as a pancake when I left. I have very long/​thick hair (that tangles easily) and she didn’t even comb out my wet hair before she started drying it. She took the round brush and with each piece tried to brush it out as she dried it. I even told her that my hair needed to be combed out first, but she continued to do it that way. And, she didn’t put any product in and didn’t even offer hairspray (I had to specifically ask to spray it myself).
Can’t say I’ll be returning here anytime soon that is for sure. I always go to Blowout Junkie, but only went here because I was pressed for time and its close to my office… BIG mistake.

I was in Chicago for New Years Eve and was fortunate enough to have the lovely ladies of Blowtique squeeze me in for an appointment at their completely booked swanky blowout salon. We were staying off of Michigan Ave and this was a hop, skip and jump from everything. I walked on over (in the freezing cold) and was treated very nicely. The receptionist offered me coffee, water, etc. (no champagne like DryBar unfortunately, but the coffee was damn good.
A red-​haired woman named Rhona chatted away with me. I absolutely loved her! She was from Ireland and had the coolest accent to go with her super cool, bubbly personality. We chatted the whole time and she really made the entire experience pleasant, welcoming and fun!
Initially, I was worried that she may not be able to handle the super curly texture of my hair, but she took care of business using heat protectant and remaining delicate with my locks. I was impressed. Washed my hair with wonderful products, straightened my curls to silky perfection. I loved the updo she did for me but unfortunately it didn’t stay for longer than a few hours because of the windy weather and walk home.
Other than that, it’s a great local business that is run well and staffed with awesome folks. Can’t wait to return for a visit next time I am in the Chi.

Came here for a blowout for my friend’s wedding and was expecting great service like in my past visits. Nope, not today. The front desk seemed busy and a little confused whether to seat me or not. Also what happens to getting a confirmation email or call the day before? My stylist walked up to me and asked are you Sara bluntly. No handshake and not even a smile. The stylist was way too rough washing and conditioning my hair. You would think she’s scrubbing dishes! The stylist barely said a word to me and seemed like she was annoyed being there. I mentioned about my baby hairs around my forehead and she goes very bluntly «yeah what do you do about that?» Needless to say I felt like I should’ve skipped getting my hair done. As for the hair. it looked good when I was in the salon but after 20 minutes my curls fell flat and my hair frizzed. So much for a professional blowout… womp womp
