Gets super crowded. Just a good bar to stopby for good 1 drinj then get out. They have karaōke on Saturday nights and it’s a bit entertaining to see but still shoulder to shoulder and can get super crowded.

Bobby Love’s is a somewhat divy bar with a friendly neighborhood feel in the Lakeview area of Chicago. If you’re looking for a place to karaōke in this part of town, this is it. It can get pretty crowded on the weekends, so come early and sign up. The patrons also get involved. So if you’re really good, someone may just do interpretive dance to your rendition of Kate Bush’s Wuthering Heights while wearing his costume from The Music Man, and you’ll be a better person because of it. The drink prices are reasonable for the location, and they have specials at different times of the week. Bobby Love’s is overall a really fun bar to hangout with friends, and will be one of my regular places to visit when I’m in Chicago, whether or not my vocal instrument is up to the task. Friends, karaōke, drinks, divy would be my key words for this place :-)

Drunk people belting out Madonna and other pop idols? Sign me up! I met up with a friend at this bar. I was pleasantly surprised. The karaōke here is so fun-I didn’t participate, but I was an avid friend supporter. The half naked bartenders were very nice. It was packed, but they still found the time to ask if we needed anything. The drinks are decently priced and strong! The crowd is great-it was definitely a fun, no judgement on how bad your singing is, karaōke night. I would visit again.

I came here with some family not knowing anything about Chicago’s gay scene except for the Viagra triangle. I’ve always loved me a good gay bar but this was THE funnest night of my life. It was a Saturday evening and karoeke night and it was just the best night ever! The workers, the staff, the clientele-everyone was just so fun and warming and flamboyant! Never have I felt SO fabulous whilst belting out Madonna’s like a prayer! Oh, and these men make some delicious and strong drinks for a great price! For a second I forgot I was in an expensive city!

Stopped in for a drink on a Monday evening after just getting into town. Great little local place with good drinks! Damien, the bartender was so nice and friendly. Chatting away with us! Would definitely go back!

I got here early on a Friday night(9:15ish) after dinner and hung around long enough to hear some people singling karaōke, down a pitcher of vodka and lemonade, and people watch from a comfy bar seat while the bartender provide some suggestions on what he would do in order to get me to give my bracelet to him.(I had to check the next day to make sure I still had my bracelet) Bobby Love’s is a cute little spot in the middle of the city. The crowd ranged in age from young to old and from male to female. Everyone is welcome at Bobby Love’s. and the drinks make me want to go back rather quickly.

My wife and I came in for a beer between activities on a Saturday afternoon. We’re moving to Chicago and are considering the Lake View area. Bartender Damien was as friendly as can be. The other people at the bar were also super friendly and giving us advice on moving to the city. Happy we dropped in. Will drop again after we move in.

If you find yourself in Boystown on a Friday or Saturday night, Bobby Love’s is THE place to be! There’s great karaōke and a friendly regular crowd. Stop in for $ 2 Tuesdays with domestic bottles + drafts. Leave your modesty at the door because, like Damian said, the unisex bathroom has no lock on the door. People usually pay attention to whether or not the restroom is occupied or not.

The best place ever! A co worker and I went into this inviting bar on a Saturday afternoon and felt welcome as soon as we walked in! Excellent, friendly regulars were sitting at the bar and wasted no time in making us feel at home. The bartender Jesse was a doll, very friendly and even bought us a shot. I recommend this place to everyone. Relaxed, inviting crowd, and a very laid back atmosphere.

This is a great Karaōke bar, it does get packed early, still a blast. The staff is always friendly. The DJ is super nice, even though my partner can be a pain in the a$$ when it comes to his Elvis song. Thanks Bobby Love’s for a good time every time!

Karaōke and, although a small bar, this place gets packed. I had my birthday party here and wow if it wasn’t awesome. Drinks are moderately priced although servicing a gay clientele(mostly men) there are many straight clientele that come just for a fun atmosphere. Even some of the bartenders is straight and they are comfortable just serving and hanging out. The bathrooms of course are unisex so sometimes you may walk in on someone when your not supposed to, but everyone understands. It happened to me three times that night and oh well. Drinks are moderately priced and of course this is a good thing. Since most bars up the price and make it kind of impossible to treat your friends all the time. But here, you will definitely be able to stretch the dollar. If you like, fun, Bobby Love’s the place to be. He’s actually in the bar all the time and is just as sweet as can be. Check them out.

It smells weird in here, and sometimes we find good company and sometimes we find some crazy. But one thing Bobby Love’s has going for it is Wednesday $ 5 Martini nights. They don’t skimp on the Svedka people! We also learned, happily, that if you finish off a bottle of booze behind the counter, you don’t have to pay for that drink. Nice rule Bobby! Cash only unless you spend over $ 25. I’ll be back, it’s close, it’s weird, but it’s cheap and strong!

NEVER — under no circumstances — use a Credit Card here. They have double charged me for a bar tab that was $ 169.00(friend’s birthday) and are doing nothing to correct the second fraudulent charge. I’ve spoken to «Bobby Love» himself, who says there’s nothing he can do to credit my card, as he’s already done his batch for the day. My bank tells me this is a boldface lie and he could easily credit my account. I’m so sorry I gave them my card. I will not be back.

Awful staff and unresponsive management staff. I was assaulted by two guys, and due to their lack of help, both guys got away. I emailed the next day to follow up and still have yet to receive a response. Simply an apology would have been nice, but I have yet to even receive that. DON’T SUPPORTTHISBAR! There are tons of other deserving establishments nearby where you can spend your $$.

Yikes. This place is the definition of a dive bar. I ended up here on accident one Sunday night… a few girlfriends of mine tried to meet up at Kit Kat for half price martinis but they were über-packed. I suggested we go to F.O.Mahoney’s but one of the gals in the group said that she couldn’t stand the smell there(still not sure what this was about). So she suggested Bobby Loves. I have a hard time believing that there is a bar nearby that smelled WORSE than this one. It had the aroma of stale smoke, cheap beer and sleaze. And the bathroom? Imagine a latrine on a hot summer day. Disgusting. I stupidly asked for a glass of red wine and was shocked when they asked if I wanted merlot or cabernet. this place did not strike me as one to have more than one bottle of wine. I went for the merlot and was quickly sipping some of the cheapest vino I’ve had in awhile. Next, I opted for a vodka. Let me tell you, they give a nice strong drink here. Also, the crowd was very friendly, even though we were the only girls in the whole place. The only way I would come back here is if they had a patio and if I knew there was no way I was going to need a bathroom anytime soon.

Cheap drinks, gay men, and karaōke… What woman wouldn’t love this??? I love Bobby Love’s. The men are so sweet. The karaōke is great! People are always dancing! Who wouldn’t like a party like this!!! The only thing I didn’t like was that I saw some dudes small ding dong when I opened the bathroom door… they don’t lock! Woulda been nice if it was big(and if he dug chicks).

Met some fellow Unilocalers there for karaōke last night – FUN! Small place, but very welcoming vibe and even on Saturday night we managed to get a wee table. Drink specials were not bad, and the regular selection of booze was more than adequate. Not a huge beer selection, but the Goose Island Winter Ale went down easy enough to inspire a rendition of «Unconditional Love». Word of warning: if you don’t like Stevie Nicks, you might want to avoid karaōke night.

Apparently I was here but I don’t remember. So why am I giving this 5 stars? Because witnesses tell me I actually enjoyed a karaōke bar and Bobby Love himself bought my group of friends a round of shots and apparently I loved Bobby Love and he loves me. So really why not 5 stars?! Bobby if you read this call me! :-)

I don’t know why I skipped this bar for years… maybe since it kind of blends in next to North End. However, now that I’ve been here a couple of times… It’s a cool hang out. Gay bar with gay karaōke… but the guys that get up and sing are actually talented… not your straight/drunken karaōke where people almost fall over before belching out a few more words(see Friar Tuck) The first time I went here was with a girl friend and some of the boys bought us drinks… yes, go figure gay boys buying straight girls drinks… I love my neighborhood. The second time I went alone and met a cute gay girl… that’s where the story ends. So keep up the love… Bobby Love!
