This place is like every schwag wearing an affliction shirt’s wet dream. Was here for a friends bday. Everything that could go wrong at a club went wrong for me. 1. Server spilled pineapple juice on my coat. 2. Bartender took about 20 minutes to get a drink. Drinks start at $ 14 3. Drunken asshole completley insulted my date and me, when I asked him to step outside, he nervously turned to the 3 guys he was with and said, «Heh, this guy wants to go outside?» I screamed in his face, «YES. LETSGO!» His friends came to his rescue and said, «Dude, just walk away.» WHAT? MEWALKAWAY? Your drunken, pimply-faced friend propositioned my incredibly gorgeous female friend. And I should walk away? I’ll give you 4 seconds to leave my vicinity before I lose my shit. And guess what, they stumbled away. I still get mad when I think of this incident. But the bouncer did approach me after and asked if those guys were starting stuff, I said yes. Too little too late. 4. Casey Urlacher almost hit me with his black Range Rover. Fuck head. I was standing on the sidewalk also. He pulls up on the curb cuz he is Casey Urlacher and literally comes within 1 inch of my face. 5. Bottle service sucked. 6. Smells like piss and vomit. 7. Music was horrendous. Awful, everything I hate about a club times 1000.

Went here for a friend’s birthday a while ago. I don’t often wander to the west loop so I didn’t know what to expect. Bouncers were very nice to us. We were there earlier than the normal crowd so we had no issues getting in. The up stair(where his party at) was strangely set up thus made it very crowded — the cut out in the middle made the whole floor into little hall ways — between tables, lounges chairs, hostess and people trying to dance — mess! Drinks were brought to our table by some hostesses — and they made the drinks there for us. Strong as hell although that meant we’d run out of alcohol soon and have to buy more bottles. We didn’t pay for the drinks but from the look of it it can’t be cheap. When we were leaving I was waiting near the door for my friends and i started talking to a girl who worked there and was standing at the door way — looking back now I’m not sure what was she doing there but she gave us free drinks(very girly drinks). That was probably the highlight!

Nasty place that was cool for about 6 months in 2009. The few times that I was there, it smelled like vomit. When it used to be crowded, the upstairs was dangerously packed and the downstairs was a mess. It’s now closed down, so that’s a plus.

Bön V is a low high class Chicago nightclub. I am a DJ and have spun at many Chicago nightclubs myself…(literally almost every single one opened since 2006) and from spinning at Bön V I cannot say alot of bad things! I must be honest though. Use the washroom BEFORE you really need to! The Restrooms are always crowded! The décor is really great! Bön-V is some-what louder than some clubs because of the layout and design and where the speakers are located. Also, alot of the club is brick so sound does bounce off easier. Most of the promoters know what they are doing, staff is professional(besides maybe a few bouncers or waitresses) but overall, management is good. They almost always have good music and DJ’s spinning! Their crowds are usually good sized and well kept… and Brian Urlacher’s brother Casey is the owner! Be there for a Saturday night event because you will definitely like it! P. S.- After Bön-V, check out the lounge«Red Kiva» right next door! Great place is you don’t want to head home quite yet, have not found that right chick, HAVE found that right chick and just want some drinks with her…(before you go home or not), or just want to «slow down» for various reasons!

Been there about 3 times and each time I went I thought it was a weird setup. Upstairs looks down below with a big square cut out in the middle. Also the bouncer told me they don’t let humans in for free. So I asked if they let aliens or monkeys in for free? Well I don’t want to dance with monkeys or be prodded by aliens on the dance floor. Needless to say I did not enter or ever return.

…the music, the layout, the people, the fun! I really enjoyed ending the night at Bön V, could not have asked for a better way to cap it all off. It was very busy when we arrived and they were actually not letting people in, but lucky me I was rolling with a local celebrity, ha ha not really my friend knew someone… anyway in we went and the fun began. Up to the second level right to the bar a few drinks a few shots and a few dances we had a blast!

I just went yesterday night to celebrate Halloween. Hmmm, where do I begin. 1.) It was too packed and it didn’t need to be if they opened the 2nd level up. Like wtf. Why advertise 2 floors and only have one floor open. 2.)The DJ sucked ass. He had ADD. He would play a song for 10 secs and then change it. Also he had horrible transitions and it sounded as though he downloaded his music illegally because the shit was hella fuzzy. 3.) Drinks were hella expensive(I was guessed it would be, so not complaining too much about that) 4.) Nobody cleaned up shit. Cups were everywhere, drinks were all on the floor. Sloppy mess. 5.) Bitches were going wild. Everywhere I went a skanky hoe was fighting. And if the hoe hit me, everyone in the area was going to get knocked out. lbs. I think the reason I gave it the 2nd star is simply because it wasn’t a hassle to get in and the DJ finally organized his illegal downloads and played some decent shit towards the end. Would I go again… mmmm, maybe not.

We had a birthday celebration here(and for that, 3.5 stars). We did a $ 35 wristband(top shelf) that had our guests in express entry w/no cover. We got there early(it was pretty empty), but I didn’t mind — we had a fun group. The place had a nice vibe, but it was smaller than I was expecting. What I did like: + Staff friendly and helpful in coordinating our event(many other places took their sweet time getting to us) + Bouncers and bartenders were all very professional and friendly.(I was surprised to read such mixed reviews) + Our entire group got in fast without any hassle + Strong and good quality drinks + Relatively quick bar service(bartender made sure to get to our birthday group). + Very clean bathrooms(such a girl thing to say) What I didn’t like(or wouldn’t without a package): -$ 20 cover(I am not a big fan of covers to begin with, but think this is a too much and overrated for it) –Music was just OK — some songs were great and the others… not so much(didn’t even want to dance to them). By the end of the night, it got too loud for me too(Yes I know I sound old) — Would have liked to have had some seating/table(w/o bottle service). –Relatively smaller space can make it crowded(we had left around 1) Overall, I would go there again if there was some planned event, but I can’t just see myself just going there.

If I had to pay to get in to this place(or wait in a line), I would have given Bön V a 2 or 3. It’s not worth a cover. I first have to say that the music(at least on the night that I went, which was a Friday) was terrible. Holy crap. The music just wasn’t spliced right at all. Other than that, I really can’t complain about Bön V. I mean besides the fact that its overrun with 21 year olds, its not that bad. The bar service was fast. The bathroom was clean(there are plenty of stalls ladies). People don’t really dance here though. They just people watch. But whatever, there’s some things that you can’t force. I would definitely go back to Bön V(on a different night) as long as I’m on the list.

Having been this this establishment once before, i was extremely impressed with the service, music, and overall atmosphere. Being that this nightclub was so impressive, i decided to have my birthday party here… bad idea. The night started off great, we were told that if we wanted to stay in the VIP area we needed to purchase two bottles at 250 a piece, because of the amount of people that were in our party. We were also told that when buying two bottle we would have two seperate tables. As the night progressed we were told that we were now only allowed to have one table for my party of eighteen people, which was not what we were originally told, regardless the night went on without any problems. When were getting ready to leave and board our party bus that was suppose to pick us up at 2am, the waitress in the VIP area some how LOST one of our credit cards and a photo ID. Having already waited almost 45minutes for the wait staff and managment to locate the missing credit card/ID… our party bus could no longer wait and left all eighteen of my party members with no transportation back home; which was an hour away. the PLACEABSOLUTELYSUCKS and i have already filed a complaint with BBB. I don’t recommend anyone to go to this hole in the wall.

This was the first club I went to in CHI. I really liked it. I went with a friend who had another friend that had a table. The cocktail waitresses were very nice and constantly refilling our drinks for us. Everyone at the club seemed to be having a blast because everyone was dancing. The place was huge compared to ATL clubs.

Another birthday and another club. I never celebrate my birthdays at clubs but my friends and family seem to enjoy these types of celebrations. *shrugs* I arrive to Bön V. that I hear is owned by Casey Urlacher(Brian Urlachers brother). I would have expected to see VIP types but nope none. However, that doesn’t make a club. What makes a great club is music, great service and fun people. The music SUCKED! This is coming from not only a music buff but someone who listens to just about everything. Not to mention one of my friends is an actual dancer(not stripper guys!). She was just sitting down. What? The service is ok but nothing to write home about. I did valet($ 10) and still had to pay the($ 20) cover. I expected that therefore I really wasn’t disappointed. The bouncers seemed very cool and they let me straight in. I was disappointed when I entered the club because I didn’t see anyone to check my coat. Luckily I had a very nice over coat but it was of course not a coat you walk around in and dance(as if the music was good anyway). The people were also a disappointment too. It’s not that they weren’t fun loving(the music was really BAD) but they were dressed very casual and some were slightly bummy. I’m from the southside and I thought I was in one of the bars on western ave.(Beverly). So now I’m possibly overdress and I have to keep on my very dressy coat because… thanks. $ 6 for a corona and about $ 4 for a Miller. Coke and Rum came out to about $ 10. My problem isn’t with the prices but it’s about the club in the whole. The design of the club isn’t upscale it just seems like an empty store. Noting fancy and you can pass this place up. By the way this Saturday it wasn’t crowded and people seem to leave at about 1am. :(My friend(the birthday girl) seem to have fun and that is all that really matters.

I found myself saying, no, more like screaming, «I’m too old for this!!!» as I walked out of this club on a Saturday night. A friend and I came here for their Halloween«Dance With The Dead» party. We smartly bought advanced tickets online for $ 10.00 each. We arrived, at what I thought, was pretty early 9:30, and there was already a line wrapped around the building. We confidently walked up to the bouncer and announced that we had already bought tickets online. He informed us that it doesn’t matter, that everyone has to wait in line. Um, excuse me, but what is the point of buying advanced tickets??? I pull out the physical tickets and he rudely asks us to move to the back of the line. We wait for over 40 minutes, FREEZING. So, we finally make our way to the front of the line, the same bouncer as before states, «$ 25.00 each ladies» and I reply, «Oh, well, we already bought tickets online» and then, get this, he says«Oh, well why didn’t you say that before? You could have just walked in!» It took all my strength to not scream and start strangling him. We decide to forget about the nasty bouncer and walked in. Only to not be able to breathe. It was entirely too packed, I can’t believe they met their fire code violations. We wait 30 minutes to get a drink and try to find a place to stand. This was supposed to be a dance party, there was no place to even raise your hand to wave to someone rather than actually dance. It was sweaty, smelly, and full of overly skanked out college girls. We sipped our drinks as fast as we could, hightailed it back to the street, hopped in the first cab we could get and didn’t look back.

Not to be blasé about it, but there’s not much special here. I dug the atmosphere, lots of red and black, but the scene is the typical yuppie club-cats. Not heaps of dancing, but if there was I can imagine it being pretty decent. Not liking the bar directly on the dance-floor or the location of the coat check, both create a lot of inertia preventing a better atmosphere. Expect $ 10 a drink and jostling to get service. Not a whole lot can be done due to the size of the bars, just making a note. Not a place that would jump to mind to head out to, and, aside from the bottle service, nothing you can’t find at any other club.

Non Club Guy back at a CLUB?!? Eh, Been to better. Were treated well by the Front Door and whisked upstairs immediately to the bar up there. Insanely Crowded for the space. Music mix was good till 2AM when they started to play the«Every Club» Mix. Crowd was diverse but at times a little much. ie the Short Guy Mafia, cut the crap you ain’t cool cause you block the bar with you tiny little bodies. All I wanted was some egress to get a cocktail and your little body builder frame and cute tiny print tee’s did not garner respect from me. Nor did I appreciate your tall friend(5’8″) bumping me in retaliation for asking for room. LOL or - Drink Whores that chat up successful looking guys for a drink, if I am not interested don’t give me a dirty look. yeah you the Tall Blonde who did not get a drink from my table at Y-Bar a month or two ago… what makes you think I going to give you one tonight. A for effort but you should remember the boys you suck up to, especially the ones that indicate you are not getting a drink. Good for a giggle though to watch em «work» it. Big complaint, which is really not that huge, is the Bartenders were quite full of themselves and unless you were throwing them tips disproportionately high to the drinks you ordered expect to stand there for quite some time. Saved me Money and spared my Liver. I would not say no to going back as the comedy level is high.

Ok. I guess almost 5 months after my birthday(last time coming here) I should be sober enough to write this review :) The drinks are on par for price with other places, but it felt like my gimlets were really potent. The music and ambience I thought was really good. The doormen and staff were really accomodating, though I don’t remember too much as the night went on. I’m glad I chose this place for my birthday. Took the risk without ever going before and was not disappointed!!!

Was just here on Friday and my friends and I had so much fun! We had a private booth next to our DJ’s booth and had a good view of the crowd the whole night! At one point I made eye-contact with a random dude in the crowd and we were singing Hypnotize by the Notorious B.I.G. together and just really feeling the music! The crowd was awesome. My crew also didn’t really mind when Bön V ran out of private booths and they asked us if we could share ours with a bunch of chicks who were there for a birthday or something. As long as they were cool and didn’t annoy us we were fine with it. I know, how nice(or stupid) were we, right?!! Anyway, I will definitely be back! Go DJ Crash!!!

BonV, you would have gotten about 3 stars — until I found out your lovely bouncer said to my friend«You have to be either fucking Wop or a Jew with big ass nose like that» Lovely. Really, really lovely. Cooincidentally, this same exact bouncer was a total ass to me l ast time I was there. I attempted to go outside to smoke and I asked Mr. Douchebag bouncer if I needed a stamp. He gave me a nasty look and said«once you walk out the door, you’re not getting back in» Okay, fine, no ins and outs — so I asked if I waited in line again if that would be acceptable — and he flat out said no — That once I walked out that door, he would REFUSE to let me back in. Funny thing is, he must’ve just had it out for me personally, because on my way out I noticed about 15 people outside smoking, and as I waited for valet I witnessed a handful get back in with no issue. Oh — and the go-go dancer that kept whipping me with her hair was pretty damn annoying too, as was the balls-to-the-wall crowd and the huge group of screaming girls from Japan that had me pinned against said go-go-dancer. In all fairness, BonV would be a really nice place if you make it on a night when it’s not SO packed — and when said racist-@$$hole bouncer isn’t working — but for now, it’s getting one star from me.

This place sucks big time. My friend made a reservation here for her birthday and when we got there, they had«lost» our reservation and demanded that we buy bottle service for $ 275 or they wouldn’t let us in. That was ridiculous considering that we were a group of 30+ people, prepared to buy a few drinks each. They had promised us that there would be no cover before 11pm for our party. They lost our business forever as we went elsewhere. Why would they try to take advantage of us in this horrible economy? Where are their business ethics?
