Honestly this place has got to be one of the creepiest and worst places I’ve ever stayed at. It is definitely not close to downtown at all and a car is definitely necessary. The neighborhood that it’s in is pretty shady as well. If you end up coming back late you have to enter in through the ally gate and back door of the place. It ends up being really creepy because it is definitely way too quiet. The electricity also all runs on one circuit and because it’s old if you have too many things i.e. a hair dryer and tv on, the entire circuit ends up shutting off and you have to call down to have the, turn it back on. The windows of the mayor suit, where me and my friends stayed at, had removable cardboard in the places where the air conditioning doesn’t cover up. When talking to the owner about canceling the reservation, he became defensive and rude and raised his voice to me and my friends. If you still decide to consider this place make sure to read the contract VERYCAREFULLY. it’s literally written down saying that prices can change without notice. Overall it was the worst experience of my life. Definitely not staying here again

Not recommended for ease of downtown access without a car. Little far from major routes on foot alone. Not bad if you don’t mind a little walking, but wouldn’t stay again. This is the first time I’d tried a B&B, granted it may be a preferred experience for some. It’s an older building, slightly run down and the toilet did not work properly. Set up like apartments with two stair wells on either end of the flat. Felt somewhat vulnerable sleeping at night. Not many people around the neighborhood or in the building. Seemed safe, but at times poorly lit and a little too quiet. Having said this, it was peaceful and definitely out of the way of tourism. Neighborhood restaurant on the lower level, breakfast included with stay. Delicious and ample meals, but required an exact time for eating. Proved less flexible as I had no set schedule for sight seeing or evening excursions. Owners were good, lived in top flat. One friendlier than the other.

Stayed in historic Bridgeport. The building itself is of interest. It was built in 1914 and has been lovingly renovated and restored honoring the original form. It was one eye catching item after another during our stay. Breakfast takes place in a restaurant on the first floor and the food is fabulous! The icing on the cake is the hospitality of the innkeeper/chief who makes you feel right at home and regals you with history of the area, the building, and stories that open you to wonder at how life intersects. All the personnel were friendly and helpful, food was good, the location is great for sports fans attending White Sox games and the layout would be perfect for a family reunion which is what I’m considering suggesting to my family. This was a unique experience all in all. Oh yeah-no charge for overnight parking in a sidelot.
