My favorite place to study. Everyone don’t come here so I can always find a table to work. It’s quiet, but not too quiet. The only problem is it’s a pretty small place so it’s hard to find a table. The coffee is on point which is important for a coffeehouse. Strong. Nothing special but still pretty damn good. It’s a bit expensive though. $ 4 for a cup of coffee(no specific size). Meh, but will continue to come because I really like the atmosphere for studying.

Buzz is a friendly place to have a great cup of coffee. Work there on one of the 2 floors, relax or just meet there. Plenty of space, nice music surrounded by the smell of amazing coffee. Well behaved dogs add to the homey feeling too.

I’ve been here four times now, each time hoping that the previous lousy cup of coffee was a fluke. This place has the WORST coffee I have ever had. This last cup(which btw cost $ 5.00) was dumped onto the street because it tasted and smelled more like ketchup than coffee. It was totally undrinkable. Before this I got a different pour over that tasted like potpourri. Another time I tried a chai drink that was way too sweet and way too spicy, and I have had a lot of chais in my life. Everything here is an over-chic disaster. It’s the Emperor’s New Wardrobe. Avoid. Pros: nice space, has an upstairs, allows dogs

There are a dozen coffee shops between me and Buzz but I still pop in from time to time because It’s really a cool spot. There is lots of great seating on first floor, outside or upstairs. The coffee is really good, and so are the selection of pastries. I especially like coming on a nice warm morning at sitting outside to people watch(or more likely dog watch) on Damen ave.

This was our second try and finding a seat here on a Sunday afternoon — it’s exactly the environment we were looking for, a quiet focused space to get work done. Their cappuccino and their coffee were both good. We’ll surely be back but once our patience for waiting has recharged.

First time visiting. Pros: Real barista! Cool space! I love coffee have never described any coffee and delicious, just had the most delicious Americano ever! Cons: Tiny public washroom, but since I don’t make a habit of drinking my coffee in public bathrooms, no biggie.

This is my favorite coffee shop in Wicker Park. It’s bright and cozy, with good coffee, friendly staff, and lots of places to plug in devices for recharging. It’s an ideal spot to meet with friends or to get some work done on the wifi.

Great spot to relax and enjoy some killer espresso. Tons of seating with an upstairs with spots but it does fill up during busy hours. I had a dirty chai Latte and it was delicious with a super fun design.

Really beautiful looking coffeshop with big windows that view this fun street in Wicker Park. Amazing pastries from Vanille: a great French bakery. A must go if you love coffee, tea or pastries.

Fourth stop on Chicago caffeine crawl. I found out what the buzz about Buzz was. I found it to be a pleasing place but it didn’t really stand out a whole lot in the Chicago coffee scene. Here are the facts: They roast their own coffee. They use a La Marzocco. It is in a good location i.e. hipsterville aka Wicker Park aka Chicago’s Williamsburg. They also sell tea, which I got. Yes, I got a non-caffeinated tea at a place that says clearly: Killer espresso. But c’mon. Another fact: my coffee-water/food ratio for the day was already slightly lopsided and it was only to get alarmingly much more so, the longer the day progressed. Best design feature: this place is perched up off the ground about half a story plus an upstairs yet, so you have a good view out over Damen St. I can’t remember what kind of tea it was but I remember that I got it iced and that it tasted quite refreshing and wonderful actually. So I got a non-caffeinated tea on what was supposed to be a caffeine crawl. So what?

Came here once to meet up with someone who blew me off. I love that they have an upstairs area as well as plenty of seating in the downstairs. I am not a huge fancy coffee drinker and typically when trying out a new coffee joint I stick with what I know I like, which in this case was a mocha latte. It was amazing! and I enjoy the foam art the barista did for me. It is in a great location right by 6 corners, and is fairly priced. I would come here again.

Super friendly service, «hipster central» as Monica H says — but without the jerky/holier than thou ironic vibe. — Excellent espresso drinks and smooth cold brew. — Fast, free(2 hrs) wifi — TONS of seats — AND outlets at the seats — Yummy pastries from a legit bakery — try the chocolate croissant Basically this is nirvana for everyone — whether you’re seeking a quick in/out caffeine jolt or you want to stay and crank out some work.

Charming little place with friendly baristas. I’m appreciative of one in particular(Madison) who remembers me and knows my coffee combo. Pleasure to see this crowd in the mornings. Astro, our puppy and I have been back 5 or 6 times since my last review. Jacking up the stars to four. I still wish a certain added temperature to the coffee, important if you are into sipping the coffee rather than gulping it as if you are rescued from a desert. Glad they are in the neighborhood.

Cute. Hipster central. Two floors with tables(seating mostly 2 or 4 people groups) and outlets spread evenly along the wall. Wi-fi is strong and you can get a passcode with purchase good for 2 hours or accept a sponsor paid wifi for 3 hours. I got the chai latte 8 ounce for 3.75. It was yummy, maybe a tad too sweet and could’ve been spicier. I’m not picky though so good enough for me!

Frankly, there are many great coffee and espresso shops in Chi town. This one is — well– killer! Plenty of seats inside and outside. 120 min of free wifi and a great city vibe. Latte was great and both staff members were friendly.

Great spot to kick back, sip on great tasting coffee, people watch & work away from home. I enjoy the simplicity of the menu and environment. The artistry by each barista makes the coffee experience that much better. If I lived in Chicago, I’m sure I’d spend a lot of time at Buzz: Killer Espresso.

One of my favorite«work from home» spots. Friendly baristas, 2 levels of seating, free wifi with purchase… what more could you want? Well, they also serve pastries from Vanille. I usually grab my drink and head upstairs where there are plenty of seats near outlets as well as a larger communal table. The atmosphere is very«chill» and I really like how bright and airy it is thanks to all of the windows and ceiling height. They also have some seating out front along Damen. Nice to have a place like this in the neighborhood!

Really cute coffee place in Wicker Park. I stopped by and grabbed a latte to go on my way to work. I wish I had enough time to enjoy it there, but it was still really good. I will definitely be going back to try an espresso and sit outside!

This was a great place to grab coffee on a Saturday morning. Again, it was the Indie Coffee Passport that introduced me to Buzz: Killer Espresso.(If you don’t have this and you are a coffee lover, I highly suggest that you google it and then jump on the bandwagon!) It was 10am with an unbearable windchill. I walked up a small set of stairs to a duplex-like building with a modern interior(2 floors of seating), sleek wooden tables and plenty of nooks to read, study/work, chat or just spend a quiet morning, as I did. Actually this destination was to reward myself after I reluctantly filled air in all four tires of my car(the pains of winter weather). My frozen fingers needed warming up. I absolutely loved the relaxing ambiance. Uncrowded, no lines to wait in, no thumping rock music. Just a smattering of people already tucked away in their spots. I ordered a pour over with the«black diamond blend» which usually goes for $ 3.43. Below the glass counter, pastries from Vanille Patisserie were on display. I didn’t grab anything to munch on, but I’ve always wanted to try that bakery. Next time for sure. The bottom floor had a range of high/low tables & chairs. Upstairs, you will find a more open seating area with a large communal wooden table and lots of natural light from the windows. For some reason I felt like I was in a lodge. It was so chill and homey, like I was having coffee in the communal area of a resort that my friends had rented out. No need to scan around the room and see how you fit in to the coffee-drinking populace. There was no mismatched furniture, no sticky residue on the counters, no self-conscious dread linked to the type of laptop you decided to haul in. The baristas would quietly chat to one another or their customers. It was refined without trying to be. Just like a best friend who is insanely awesome but doesn’t ever have to try to be. Are you getting my drift? I’m all about the comparisons today. This café provides a calming, clean-cut and orderly sort of vibe without being pretentious and not to mention, has«killer» coffee :)

Chill, relaxed, large coffee space in Wicker park. The space itself is hip and big with an upstairs too. The design and interior are sleek and modern. The music is calm and relaxing, as you would expect at a coffee spot. I ordered a to-go mocha. The temperature and flavor were perfect. Price seems slightly high for a 12 oz. The espresso is good but not the best I’ve had either. Will stop back by to try some other drinks and pastries too.(they looked very tasty)
