I came here looking for food. They were closed. Before midnight when their hours said 2am. I am butt hurt because I’m hungry.

What a wonderful Vietnamese noodle restaurant, and you don’t even have to fight the crowds in Chinatown or stuggle to park on Argyle Street. We ordered chicken noodle soup, beef tenderloin noodle soup, and eggrolls. The food was EXCELLENT — better than our favorite noodle shop on Wentworth. It is open for lunch, and because it wasn’t too crowded on this first cold Chicago winter day, we chatted with the lady in the kitchen, who explained that she makes everything herself. It shows, as the food is very homemade, with no shortcuts. Café Huong is a gem Vietnamese restaurant in a quiet neighborhood.

I went here for lunch and ordered #22 egg noodle beef stew and it was amazing. The beef was so tender.

My friend and I came here tonight. The food is really delicious and the servers are nice. I had spring rolls and a pork noodle dish. I’m definitely coming back.

Really good pork chops(com suong) if you’re in the area. I’m surprised to find it so empty on a Sunday evening. I would give it 5 stars if it was a byob restaurant. A little more expensive than most Vietnamese restaurants in the area but since it’s so convenient for me and the food was good, I’d come back.

We visited midweek for dinner and we were the only ones there! Didn’t know if it was good or bad sign, but since the hostess/server was so nice we figured we’d stay. The menu looks huge, but there are many pages of pictures for those that do more of the«show and point» method of ordering food. And if you do that, get over it, attempt to pronounce the food names already, it will endear you to the servers and then if all else fails, that’s when pointing may come in handy. We opened with the fresh springrolls – pork and shrimp. They were well-made and super fresh and the peanut sauce was delicious. I just didn’t dig the noodles. They were thicker than what I’ve normally seen in fresh springrolls. But I guess CH likes their rice noodles on the thicker side because it was same noodles in my Bun Cha(I got the grilled pork and fried spring rolls). It was also the same noodles in my husbands Phở. The flavors were all there – but still just average. Those noodles though, just didn’t seem right to me. What would set CH apart is the interior is colorful and a lot prettier than other Vietnamese restaurants I’ve visited. Service is also friendly. A lot of hovering though – kind of freaked out my 3yr old son how much she kept coming and telling him how good he was eating.

I went in today to purchase an Avocado smoothie. Usually, it comes with the tapioca pearls but this time they left it out. I go to take a sip and see a hair in it. Gross. I go to tell the woman who made it that there was a hair in it. She fights with me about how it’s not there. Then she scoops it out and says, «this? It’s not a hair, it’s an avocado.» She sets it down and walks away. I won’t be returning.

Sauteed chicken with peppers, onions and lemongrass… yumm. Next time I’m asking for extra spicy.

If you’re jonzing for Phở & can’t make it to Arygle Street, then this place will make do. Pleasant service, attentive for the most part. The let down is the Phở broth. It’s not ‘beefy’ enough. On the weak side, with not enough seasoning or spices. But that could be a good thing if you find the normal Phở broth too meaty. Update: I went to Hung again, not by choice but because it was the only Phở place opened. Big mistake. I should have just sucked it up & gone elsewhere. Super slow service(the place is empty) and they actually were out if bean sprouts! *sign* never again!

My family and I love to order take out or delivery from this place. They provide the best service in the area and the food is always consistent. The shrimp spring rolls are fresh, their salt and pepper shrimp is delicious and the Vietnamese crepes are my favorite here. Delivery is fast! Give this place a try especially on a cold, winter evening when you just want to bundle up and stay indoors.

I stopped in here for lunch, and the menu is very authentic and diverse. I had the salty Vietnamese shrimp with noodles, and although it did not look like the photo in the menu, it was very tasty. Will have to come back and see how there phở and other soups are.

I’m giving them 3 stars because I am resisting the impulse to give them 2 stars to balance three 5-star ratings that(frankly) astound me. 2.5, in my estimation, would be accurate. First, the phở: Clearly missing the wonderful aromatics that make phở such an addictive taste. This version is a relatively bland beef soup that did not hold my interest(Wife had Phở Ga, the chicken version, which she also found bland). My first thought: mediocre. My second was that almost every other phở I’ve had offered much more than this. Bad? No, but something very important is missing. One would never grow to love phở with this as the only example. We also ordered a charred pork spring roll and a pork and noodles dish, both of which were just fine, but not exceptional in any way. Service was mediocre too. At best. Going back again? Nope. My advise? Skip it.

Loved it! I thought it was a bad sign that it was completely empty other than my boyfriend and me, but the food and service were great! We had the phở ga and the phở tai. The broth was flavorful and the meat was tender. We liked it so much we went back the following night!

This place has been open no more than two months. I thought the phở was better than Tank Noodles’ with the added selection of condiments they had on hand at Huong. The broth seemed tastier, too. Granted, my experience was late at night on a Sunday with little to no consumer traffic, whereas Tank can preform consistently with droves of people. And yet, Huong, with its snazzy clean new menu filled with a variety of food and tasty phở, begs to be explored.
