Safe to say I’m never eating here again. They are frequently outside of my office and lately I have been loving the chopped salad. Today a coworker and I went down to their truck and were greeted by the same usual woman and I got the same usual salad.
Imagine my surprise when I got back to my desk and found a ladybug in my salad. Disgusting, unappetizing and ruined my appetite for lunch that day, let me tell you.
When I trekked back downstairs to the food truck, I waited in line to return my salad. Despite literally holding an open salad container, the rather rude (as usual) woman working the truck asked my friend what he wanted and didn’t even acknowledge me. He he was here with me, when I explained my issue and showed her the bug and then asked for my money back. After glancing back and fourth at me and then my salad, she said nothing, turned around and handed me $ 7 in cash back (paid with a credit card originally FYI). I especially appreciated how she looked at me like I was lying, because yes, I bought the salad, planted a ladybug and walked back to the truck to get my $ 7 back. Right…
Looks like someone else found a moth a few months ago so obviously wherever these guys are preparing their food isn’t a disgusting environment. I could let the rather grumpy woman running the truck go, but after the ladybug issue, I’m done with this place.

The deep dish was not as hot as I would have wanted it to be (it seemed like a reheat). However, prices are good compared to the other food trucks.

I found a giant dead moth in my salad today from the food truck while they were in Hyde Park. It’s a shame because up until I saw the creepy crawler, I was enjoying it but that is just inexcusable. Sorry Caponies… you need to do better!

Got to try an arancini from Caponies at the Pilsen Food Truck Social. I believed we paid $ 6 for 1 ball and we chose spinach (no meat). The portion was adequate and I shared it with my husband. The tomato sauce was delicious-​I liked it because I definitely prefer a more acidic tasting sauce to a sweet tomato sauce. The spinach and cheese contrasted with the breaded crispy rice was very tasty. I would definitely try other things from this truck if I ever caught up to it again, but I would definitely re-​order the arancini.

I’m a loyal customer of this food truck, though to my dismay they seem to be on the road less and less often these days — often only twice or three times a week, and mostly at the same food truck stops (none of which are near my office). Cry.
For those of you who are lucky enough to be within range of them, I would definitely recommend paying them a visit to try out their pasta with vodka sauce. The sauce is a tomato-​based sauce but also just creamy enough (i.e. you won’t feel like you’re going to have a heart attack after lunch). Add this flavorful sauce to their pasta and sprinkle the included red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese — so great! The portion size is also huge for $ 7 — it could easily feed me for at least a meal and a half, and if I don’t use up all the sauce (very likely), I can bring it home and boil some pasta at home and use the sauce on it.
I will say that the pasta is the only thing I’ve tried on their menu (it’s good enough that I never feel the desire to stray from it), so I can’t speak to their other offerings. But the pasta alone is worth a trip!

Great food truck. They have been coming to LUMC in Maywood since our cafeteria shut down and their mobile pizza blows the doors off of the Connies we normally have.
I highly suggest their calzones. They are big, delicious, and there is no skimping on the ingredients.

Gotta love the sausage and pepperoni calzone… not too doughy or runny, and it tasted great. Keep coming back to 600 W Chicago ~ we love your food truck !

The food is great tasting and decently priced for the portions. I’d highly suggest the pasta with vodka sauce!
