Get the taco burrito bowl or anything with the roasted red pepper sauce! That stuff is delicious. Also, the mother clucker… YUM!

Food is pricey but real good. You get what you pay for in quality. Probably top 5 steak burrito or steak taco places in the city. The only issue I have and it happens more than once is sometimes you have wait such a looong time for your food even when the place is not as packed. Why?! Because they put more importance and urgency on their deliveries than their customers seated. I must of seen the same delivery driver come in 3 times to pick up orders of food within a 40 min span while we still wait for our food. You guys are not Domino’s! Take care of the people seated there first then mix in the deliveries

My new go-to for Mexican delivery in West Loop. The Chicken and Steak are as good as it gets. The flavors aren’t as exotic as some of the places I’ve had around town, but it’s still quite good. Get the Flour chips instead of the Corn ones!

My favorite spot for chicken tacos. Steak isn’t bad either. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Yum! Walked past and so glad that I stopped by. I am always on the look out for vegan/vegetarian food and carbon fits the bill ! I got 2 veggie tacos, a side of black beans and a side of rice for around $ 10. Delicious and priced reasonably. Don’t let the address fool you either, right off Chicago ave

Really wanted to leave a good review but I just can’t. Call me a burrito snob if you want, but I prefer to call myself a burrito believer. Guess you positive guys had a different experience than me. So steak meat quality is decent. Have a wide variety of decent sauces. Not out of this world. Asked woman if the burritos were as big as «that» as I pointed to a bunch of wrapped items. She said«no those are the tacos». im not sure if she was directly lying to me, playing coy, or what, because Iwas ready to walk right out that door if she said yes. I think maybe she realized that… I am quite confident that those were burritos I pointed to. Im a reasonable guy. Sometimes my eyes are bigger than stomach, burritos are no exception. This was not the case here. If Im paying almost $ 11 for a take out burrito you had better wow me(L’patron is my fave. There are several food trucks(Raymonds Tacos, and a food truck that parks across from police impound on sacramento that serves mexican fare, forget name they have no menu either, just pictures(!)) and picante(chipotle chicken burrito is fabulous!) in close proximity that I love. Not enough meat(totally understand why guy who ordered after me paid for extra meat… But that brought it to decent size after a surcharge…) Included is pic with quarter for size. Finished burrito in about 8 bites. If burrito weren’t so small i would have different rating. If i bought two burritos i maybe wouldve filled up. Nice enough staff but still confused if woman was screwing with me…

God this place was fantastic quality! ! Had the tilapia burrito. Was too full to finish. Just kept saying over and over again, «this is so f***ing good!» At our table was steak burrito, steak bowl, chicken quesadilla, their special Mexican corn side, and chips and salsa. All good and took home left overs. Friendly staff and fun hole in the wall setting.

This is more like a 3.5. My husband and I wanted to go to JJ thai but the line was too long so this was near by and we figured we’d give it a shot. This place isn’t authentic like our favorite taqueria trespasada but the ingredients seem a bit healthier in some ways. They use olive oil, whole wheat tortillas, and chicken breast. We ordered the mother clucker and it took quite awhile for our food to come out as we sat in the dimly lit back room. We were expecting to be disappointed. However, when our burritos arrived they were large and jam packed full of chicken. The tequila lime sauce was also very nice and flavorful on its own even without the addition of salsa. I was not blown away by the rice and beans. The burrito was tasty and I could see myself ordering that again. Many of the other offerings looked underwhelming. They are much pricier than some of the other Mexican places close by but they do seem to offer better ingredients so this is a decent option if you want to get a lot of clean protein on your burrito.

I’ve only been here 3 times and I’m addicted! The place is just off of Chicago and there are a lot of cars coming going for pick up/delivery. They do have a cozy place to sit and eat but you order at the counter and then they bring you your food. I’ve had the chicken fajita burrito all 3 visits — it is so good! It’s also huge and usually makes 2nd or 3rd meal for me. The chicken tastes so good. The hot sauce is super hot — almost too hot for me and I like hot. Today I mixed some mild in and then it was perfect. Also tried steak today on a quesadilla. It was very, very good and I’m picky about steak. The guacamole is pretty good — could use a little more flavor so it helps to put a little salsa or hot sauce in there. Unfortunately the rice and beans served on the side are pretty flavorless — but I shouldn’t eat those anyway so it doesn’t matter to me. The people that work there are awesome. So friendly, patient, helpful. They also deliver so they will be hearing from me again soon. Highly recommended.

Great food and soooooo fast! We’ve orders delivery from here and eaten in and it is awesome! Such great flavor in every bite, even the chicken, quick normally dries out due to being cooked in large batches. I was thoroughly impressed and look forward to trying them again!

Oh. Wow. I’m truly impressed. My frustration in the past with Carbon was that I never really went away full. So today I saw the portion of the menu«best of the best«which says«oversized portions». When I received it(see my picture), I thought ‘not oversized at all’, maybe even smaller than chipotle burritos. Man was I wrong. There was so much chicken, FRESH, TASTY, sliced, grilled chicken breast that I couldn’t finish! And the flavor! Wow! So tasty — almost a Vanilla-citrusy flavor along with the grilled chicken, cilantro and mild salsa. If you like to eat ‘clean’ protein, this dish is for you! The ‘mother clucker’ also includes a side of rice and beans(a bit plain in comparison but hey it’s just rice and beans.)

Pretty average. They messed up my order. Burrito was ok. Steak taco was just a tortilla with steak in it. Fish taco was also pretty average. Not great flavor. but not terrible.

The seasoned meat is great. The portions however, are very small. The burritos are a tad bit on the small side. I believe a burrito should look like a burrito. Not a wrap

Great tasting food and healthy! Not greasy the steak in the burrito is well cut and very generous. Chicken is also good but I preferred the steak. Minus one star for being pricier than most places around albeit better quality.

By far the best tacos in the city and suburbs. I found them when I went to the taste of Chicago and then realized they were pretty close to my house. Since the taste I’ve eaten /ordered from there 6+ times. You might be thinking, I don’t know what good tacos are? Wrong! I’ve eaten tacos at too many places to count! I love taco places as I’m gluten free and tacos are the perfect food. By far the best quality, decent prices and fantastic taste. Everything I’ve eaten there is awesome! I usually go with the steak tacos(which is flank steak), medium salsa and guacamole. All delicious! I usually pick it up but last time I was there my wife and I are there and I liked there easy going environment. It’s not a hole in the wall but it’s also not fine dining. I highly suggest!

I’m so glad I don’t live across the street from Carbon because that’s where my pay check will end up at. After a night out on the town the next morning my friend suggested Carbon for breakfast. I’m a typical eggs kind of gal when it comes to breakfast but I went along. Once the open sign lit up we headed on over(my friend lives across the street from here). We take a look at the menu, made up our mind and before we know it we were paying $ 69 for Mexican take-out for 4. Holy mother. Was it worth it you may ask? Well, yes and no. The burritos are fan-tast-tic! We had 2 stelote and 2 mother clucker and although I’m a red meat girl, I think the clucker takes the top spot. The stelote is meaty, but the clucker was packed with flavor due. The corn overwhelmed the stelote, making it a bit too sweet. I would skip the tortilla soup. Where’s the chicken? With every spoonful all I saw was corn and more corn. It was a corn fest in that little bowl of soup. The rice and beans is typical, nothing special here. Oh and if you went for their chocolate quesadilla I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s essentially a tortilla slab with nutella. It does give you that chocolate fix craving though. Carbon is more of a 3.5, but because I still taste the deliciousness of the burritos I’ll round it.

Let me just start off by saying I don’t like sweet mixed with salty most of the time — it has to be the right mixture. After seeing the buzzfeed article about burritos to try all over country, I had to come here and try the mother clucker burrito. My bf got the steak burrito. I thought it was more in the pricey side with $ 10 – 11 per burrito. We got the mixture chips and salsa and loved the tortilla chips. The food came out quick and I was excited to take my first bite of my motherclucker burrito. For the price, it was a pretty decent size. As soon as I bit into it, I got a mixture of sweet and salty. The corn was actually a very sweet corn mixture and was overpowering my burrito. I was not a fan. I liked the steak burrito, but the proportion of meat to veggies seemed off. I was full by the end but not satisfied. I’ve had better burritos. I’d even pick Chipotle over this. Maybe going in with an expectation was just not a good thing and I don’t think I’ll be back here.

I remember when this was good ol’ Mr. Taco’s! Carbon is legit. Besides being expensive. Seriously, this neighborhood has a ton of options for Mexican. But we all know Carbon is yuppified, so for a good meal I guess $ 10 – 15 isn’t tooooo bad. Steak tacos don’t disappoint. The steak in general is really good. The burrito could be bigger for the price… I’m just sayin. Maybe I’m greedy, but I’m down with burritos as big as my head. They have tilapia and chicken options, which I’ve not tried because I’m a Libra and always order the same shit. Three stars for really good steak, a cute space, and for not charging me extra for a second thingy of salsa. It’s the small things! And since you’re on the same block of Chicago Ave, go get some pie at Hoosier Mama and some pints at Loop Tavern :)

Carbon is about the closest thing to Chipotle that someone in Chicago can get delivered. Only problem is it’s not Chipotle… not by a long shot. It’s good stuff, but cost about four dollars more for a smaller serving and it lacks all the fixens that makes Chipotle so magically delicious for me. The burritos are pretty standard served with meat, cheese, and some hot sauce. Personally I prefer some pico de gallo, lettuce, and a bunch of other stuff inside but for just the basics they do a pretty darn good job. The chunks of meat are thick and juicy so it makes up for the lack of other stuff. There’s other menu items including tacos, quesadillas, and other Mexican side items. All are pretty decent, but again a little on the pricey side for what it is. Overall it’s a good spot especially if you’re too hung over to get out of bed and get yourself over to a Chipotle.
