I haven’t seen Dr. Shaw for several years due to lack of insurance and temporarily moving out of state. But I can still say after several years he’s by far the best I’ve seen. He demonstrates a genuine care for the well being of his patients, doesn’t rush through your visit and listens carefully to your concerns. While suffering from unexplained constant body aches, he took the time to ask deeper questions about the source. He found the cause to be stress/mild depression. Instead of drugging me up, he basically counseled me. He realized that my home life was a huge stress factor and suggested that I change my living situation to improve my health. I am so grateful to this day that he did not prescribe an anti-depressant. God only knows what kind of zombie I might have been instead of just getting motivated and changing the circumstances causing my stress. That may seem obvious but I had been to several doctors prior to Shaw that gave me a very poor /no diagnosis. He is a fantastic doctor and I will always be thankful.

Dr. Shaw was recommended by a friend, and even though he confirmed my sinus infection(which means I’m missing the Unilocal winterfest tonight) I’m so pleased with him. This is the second time I’ve gone to see him. The first time I received a full physical, with blood tests for anything you can imagine. The waiting room time can be a pain, but as I have yet to go to a GP where I get in at exactly my appointment time, I can’t really complain. Overall, I’d recommend him for anyone looking for a doctor that actually listens, asks questions, and does a complete job.

Had some serious swelling and an infection, called Dr. Shaws office on a recomendation, they were fully booked and after I pushed a bit about not wanting to go to an emergency room and all the«good things I had heard about the office,» they got me in at 10:30. I was warned they wouldn’t have time for a physical, but would see me as an emergency visit. I waited 10 minutes, the Dr. came in and gave me a basic physical, then sat down and asked me questions, he looked me in the eyes and answered my questions, he then asked me to describe in detail what kind of work I did, how long, and what specific repetetive motions are involved. For some people this does not make much of a difference but to me it makes all the difference. I have worked several manual labor jobs and my body has some pretty specific issues, and in the past I have tried to explain to Dr. s what I have gone through and they don’t really listen. I was in the office for my left leg, he ended up giving me tests on my knees, shoulder, and back, all under the same price, he was complementary, and respectful, funny as well. He chose the weakest of meds and the simplest course, and told me to only come back if there were additional problems. I have found a new Dr. and I urge you to give him a shot.
