Chase Bank

I know automation is taking over the world, I except that in certain situations but when it comes to banking I want to talk to a person. Just recently I went to my Chase Bank Branch (8340 S Kedzie Avenue, Chicago, IL 60 652) I hate the new look. They’ve replaced majority of their tellers with ATM machines. So either you use the machines or wait in a long line. I’ve used the machine before and to my dismay the machine malfunctioned I did not get my money and had to wait a month for it to be corrected. I like and prefer speaking to a person when it comes to my money. The branch use to be welcoming and inviting when you walked in. Now it seems more impersonal and automated. When I see seniors trying to understand the ATM, to no avail, it confirms my belief that Chase is headed in the wrong direction when it comes to branch banking. I understand the drive-​through, and the lobby ATM, but when I walk in the bank I want to see a teller not a machine. Shame on you JP Morgan.

Slowest coin change service ever. Around 30 min wait just for this when at other locations is done right away. The bank wasn’t that busy but insufficient seating area so just imagine how fun the visit to this location was.

No stars! I went to this bank over a month ago to open a new account. Imagine my surprise when the rep told me someone had already beat me to it using my social security number and wrote a lot of fraudulent checks! The rep told me I had to go to the SS office and get a letter from them stating this was my SS number even though I had showed them my original SS card! The next week I brought in the letter and still couldn’t open up an account because they wanted to get it cleared up first with their fraud dept. The Chase rep told me I would get a call from them in 3 to 5 business days. No phone call but a letter stating what I already knew and a number to call if I had any questions. Well after 5 more days and no phone call I called the number to check on my status. The CSR informed me I was suppose to call and give them some information! I told her I gave all that to the rep in the bank to fax over to your dept. The CSR says there is no report on me! I was livid! To make a long story short. I cleared up my own file with Chexsystems in less than two weeks. I went right over to Bank of America and opened up an account with no problems! I still haven’t received a phone call from Chase bank! BEWARE at Chase bank anyone can open up an account using your SS number because they DO NOT require the person to show their actual SS card!
