This business has not moved! It is still located at the 87th street location. I just made a purchase there Feb 32014!

Who goes to Chernins the day before Easter? My BFF and I that’s who!!! We were headed to the beauty supply but decided to check out Chernin. I remember Chernins from when I was a little girl my uncle use to work there when it was thee place to buy shoes. I was surprised by how cute the shoes were. Cheap yes!!! Can you get a few wears out of them? yes! Is it a bargain? HELLYES!!! I am all about buying quality but I got a cute pair of suede gray 3inch sandals for $ 13.00 you cant beat that! I definitely will be checking them out as the summer nears. I think I will go when they first open though because it was a ghetto madhouse in there.

I went to a wedding today and broke my shoe. A shoe I had fixed once already in a different place. Cheap thrift store shoes… grrr. After walking around a dollar store barefoot, looking for flip flops, and looking like a hobo, I tried Chernin’s. I figured they couldn’t kick me out of a shoe store for not wearing shoes. At least they knew they’d be making a sale, right? It seemed a little bit like a madhouse in there, but luckily I’m decisive, saw something that would work and I trotted up to the cash register to plop down my $ 9.99 plus tax so I could stop worrying about getting a parasite or stepping on rusty metal and dead animals or something. I could have gotten some Baby Phat flip flops for $ 6.99 but I already have some«Baby Girl» flip flops that I bought at the Puerto Rican fest. Thank you Chernin’s for saving my feet.

OK, I know what you’re thinking, ‘$ 9.99 for SHOES?! Yuk!’ but don’t knock it till you’ve tried it. The selection is HUGE, unfortunately, 90% consists of your standard hooker/club shoes. However; if you’re willing to put in the time, you will find a gem or 2. I managed to score 2 pumps, one a patent red the other a pretty lilacish color. Like with any low end retail store, less is more. Use a few pieces to add a little bit of ‘pop’ to your GOOD wardrobe and you will be fine. If you’re on a budget, check ‘em out!
