Chicago Gentlemen

As a second time customer, I have been beyond happy both times. I requested «Ricky» and his new name is «JJ» and that’s who we got. He was great and had a skit so there weren’t any awkward moments or pauses. He was friendly, prompt, and had great communication. We were his first show of the night-​6pm for a bachelorette party. My advice was book for an early evening show because we made him late to our second show. He was great and we were all very pleased with his appearance. He started out as a cop and ended up as a cowboy. Several girls complimented my choice and asked them to save his number for their bachelorette parties.

Just used them for my bachelorette party. booked «jj» and got «jovhani» without a phone call letting us know who was VERY in your face and down your shirt which would be an ok thing if he was good looking. he was 3+ hours late, told us «he give us good show» and only stayed 40 minutes and wanted the full price! we gave $ 75 which was generous, considering this guy had a pimply ass, flabby gut, and very gross all around OH and a mullet! did not have a cd player so we had to supply one. DO NOT USE! Company said they were «dissappointed» in what happened but could not get us our money back. Told us next time to pick out 3 different guys, then that way when one cannot make it, another can. SCAM! Pics from website are from YEARS ago!

Do not use this service!!! We booked one male stripper, received a completely different one without any notification. He arrived over three hours late. We were told on the phone that he would only work for tips because he was so late, and at one point we cancelled. He was suppose to dance for an hour, he came without the equipment we were told he would have, danced for only forty minutes. As him and the driver lady he showed up with were leaving she asked if he could have a shot. They then left, walked back in the house without knocking and asked for the full amount.

Ok. So. I wanted a «stripster.» A stripper hipster.
For my friend. For her bachelorette party. I needed it to be pretty funny, and not SO raunchy. I thought this element would be just the trick. Funny! Ironic! Hipster stripper! Ok. Bear with me.
I requested a stripper that I found on the Chicago Gentleman website. I talked with him on the phone. I talked with a booking agent on the phone. All set, he was going to meet us at the intended (private, of course!) location at a specified time and had instructions on what the crowd of girls would be like (pretty tame, as it were). Jake was to be our dude.
I was instructed to bring the $ 125 (an hour) in cash to pay him, and to make sure my friends had singles with which to tip him and stick in his underwears, etc. Ok, fine. We can handle that. It is an hour after all.
And, instead… another random stripper dude showed up the night of the party. The original stripster couldn’t make it, and this was the replacement. Was he hot? SURE. Was he the least bit hipster/​ironic looking? NO. Costume request ignored. Instructions ignored. This guy looked a little more Jersey Shore and while the rock hard abs were pretty sweet, he was not into the tame games my friends would’ve found much more hilarious, and much more into the grinding around in his tiny little underwears. Sigh. Not so great.
Honestly, we had him leave after 20 minutes or so. Of course we paid the full amount and he left with practically all of the ones we had divvie’d out… but it just wasn’t great. We weren’t intoxicated enough, they didn’t listen to what I wanted, a replacement showed up without my knowledge, and I felt shady as shit paying some really hot guy $ 125 in cash in the hallway of Lincoln Karaōke. Yeeesh.
Most definitely could’ve been a better experience. I wouldn’t use them again. THen again, this is my only experience hiring a stripper… so, take it for what its worth. I just think if I’m paying $ 125, it better be what I talked to someone about… especially if its 20 minutes.

I was planning my friend’s bachelorette party about 4 years ago. It was the first time I had been given the responsibility of planning a bachelorette party and I was pretty excited.
I knew what we needed. We needed naked dudes.
But I think that strippers coming to my home or to a hotel room is GROSS so I wanted to go somewhere out and about and see a show away from the sheets I would be sleeping on that evening. So, I googled «male strippers Chicago»… and saw the special at Funk…
… and the rest is history. My friend LOVED the show, loved her party and it was a great weekend.
She liked it so much that when the time came last year for her to plan MY bachelorette party, I should have known that’s where we were headed. After dinner we all loaded up some cabs… and of course… ended up at Funk.
Fun fun fun!!!
I think the special is something like $ 20 a person for seats in the audience… and then like $ 10 for general admission where you have to stand in the back. Then, at the door, you have the option to buy a wristband for $ 30 that gets you open bar for three hours.
Duh. That’s a no brainer.
Our group of about 10 settled in our seats and for the next hour, my face hurt from laughing my ass off. I watched friend after friend willingly go up to the stage and be humiliated (in a good way!) by these strippers. The girls insisted on buying me a lap dance and I think the guy could tell I was embarrassed because he went easy on me and then said a very respectful «congratulations and good luck!» (referring to my sash that screamed «BACHELORETTE PARTY»… as if it wasn’t obvious).
This regular Saturday gig at Funk is an absolute riot and a must for bachelorette parties, big birthdays, girls night out, etc.

This place really to me is all about the laughs. I laughed so hard I couldn’t breathe. We went there for a friends bachelorette so the visit was warranted, but my goodness, I honestly saw some «regulars.» What made me laugh was how some of the girls thought these «strippers» liked them. hello it’s their job. Also, my friend got a picture with one and he was the biggest diva I ever saw-​complaining he didn’t like the picture and to delete it. ha! I would never go here again, but glad I have the experience to laugh about!

Stripper never showed up and owner did not refund my deposit!!! Found out later that the strippers on the website don’t even work for them!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!
I ordered a stripper for my Bachelorette party and the stripper never even showed up! They ruined the whole party! It was all planned around this guy showing up!!! Chicago Gentleman never returned my phone calls or e-​mails when I tried to call and talk to someone. I would never recommend this company to anyone!

Jake performed at my girlfriend’s bachelorette party and we had a blast, he was super cute, ON TIME (he got there before we got there from the bar), and just the right amount of bump and grind but in the classiest way possible. I asked him ahead of time not to whip it out since some of the girls were already very hesitant about getting a male entertainer, but everyone ended up enjoying themselves and the bride had a blast doing body shots off his sexy six pack and he put on a great show for us. I recommend Jake for showing all your girls, or guys, a good time.

This review requires a bit of a back story…
Many many moons ago my friend and roommate at the time, Ali, had a bit of trouble landing a job after college. And like many other 22 yr olds she decided to work for a temp agency to pay those bills. One day she showed up for her temp job near Wrigley Field and they asked her to put on a burrito costume and hand out fliers. For some unknown reason (oh wait, the reason was we were dumb 22 yr olds) she actually obeyed and spent her day as a burrito. I came home from work that night and found her in tears because after 4 years of hard work at the University of Michigan she was now spending her days dressed as a burrito. Fortunately, she ended up just fine… landing a PR job pretty soon after the burrito incident. Thank goodness she didn’t graduate in our current economy or she could have ended up a burrito for more than just a day!
Flash forward 6 years and Ali has landed herself a husband and I’ll be her Maid of Honor in about a month. And as MOH it was my responsibility to plan a bachelorette party, which I decided would have to involve a stripper dressed up as… you guessed it, a burrito.
Due to my sheltered life I’ve never hired a stripper so thank goodness for Unilocal!I read Patricia K’s review of Jake from Chicago Gentleman a few weeks ago and gave them a call to book my «burrito». The nice woman who helped me on the phone had the same name as the bachelorette so I took that as a sign I had called the right place! Minutes later I was told that my first choice, Jake, was booked for 30 minutes and $ 135 of burrito craziness. I wasn’t even questioned much when I told her I’d want Jake to wear a burrito costume that I’d be happy to provide. It actually turned out to be a taco costume because burrito costumes are apparently very hard to find!,
This past weekend was showtime! Jake showed up half hour late, but he was kind enough to call to let us know he’d be tardy. He was clean cut for a stripper, cute, beyond ripped, friendly, and polite… he even called to check in with his mom before the job began. ;) And most importantly he was a good sport when we threw the burrito costume over his head, although he did mention this was among the weirder things he’s been asked to do in the past.
When Jake walked in Ali was definitely surprised and even asked «is that a stripper?» Minutes later he was out of that burrito costume and in his g-​string. He did a great job of embarrassing the bachelorette and involving everyone else in the room as well. We played the same games he played with Patricia K’s girlfriends. Suck for a buck, which involved sticking a lollipop into his g-​string and putting us in various strange positions to get our sucker. I somehow managed to escape playing that game by hiding in the corner, although I was unable to escape the body shot game where we had to lick rum off his chest and then take a lemon from his mouth. A good way to catch the Swine Flu that’s going around!
Once everyone had a turn with Jake he wrapped it up by licking rum out of the bachelorette’s bellybutton. Lucky gal and she thought so too because she kept telling everyone in her very intoxicated state about how much she loved her stripper!
I don’t have many strippers to compare my new buddy Jake to, but several of the girls at the party commented that he was by far the best and most appropriate stripper they’ve ever seen.

I’ve see the Chicago Gentlemen numerous times at Bourbon Street & Polekatz. They are awesome. They put on a great show and make the night very enjoyable for the girls. I love it how they pick the birthday girls or bachelorette girls out of the crowd. I enjoy seeing them the second Friday of every month at Bourbon!!! Highly recommend.

early december ’08:
i am just starting to plan my NYE party, and have decided to hire a stripper. after a horrendous experience with venus dancers (see previous review), a friend happened to have a bday party and hired jake from chicago gentlemen to dance. jake was great! he was not very hot, but he danced on all the boys as if he was a fellow f.o.d., had us sucking lollipops out of his gstring, and even brought body shots for us to lick off of him. i was sold on the company, and figured i would give them a call for my party…
2 weeks until NYE:
i have spoken with dave, the owner, who seems very friendly and professional. i have told him that this will be for a group of gay men. THEY DO CHARGE EXTRA FOR MAN ON MAN DANCING. but at least he was upfront about it, explaining that the extra charge was at the dancer’s request, not the company’s. so instead of $ 150 for 30 – 60 minutes, it was $ 200. 50 down on a credit card and 150 cash on arrival. i reserve jovany the stripper. i even get a call to confirm the week before.
NYE:
jovanny the stripper was supposed to show up between 12:30 and 1:30. i get a call around 1 from JAKE. jake is driving around looking for parking and is calling me to complain about it. he’s bitching to me on the phone how he can’t find a spot and has another party to go to at 2. um, wtf? that is not my problem. and where is the dancer i ordered? but i am slightly drunk at this point and people needed a dancer, so i said none of that and just told him to get up to the party. so we all saw the same dude do the exact same routine yet again. which was a good routine. but c’mon– been there, done that.
January ’09:
i have called multiple times to try and ascertain what went wrong with my reservation. i have been polite in the messages i’ve left because they now do not answer the phone. even after the stripper mix-​up, i would’ve been prepared to give them 4 stars had they got on the customer service and let me know what the hell went wrong and how they were going to fix it. but no. now i am pissed. and the only reason they get 2 stars is because jake actually puts on a pretty good show. but i will never patronize them again.

Wow. Best stripper we’ve ever seen!
Ok, one of my oldest, dearest friends is getting married and she wanted a stripper at her bachelorette party. Not my thing usually but I obliged. In the past, I felt that the whole thing was boring, sometimes crude and overall not as entertaining as it may sound. The guys aren’t usually nearly as hot as you’d like them to be and sometimes, it is just downright blah. As more of my friends get married, I’ve experienced my fair share. Don’t get me wrong, I laugh. But its usually laughing AT the stripper or laughing at my friend who is being tortured. This all changed this weekend when we actually got ourselves a good one! Way to go Jake!
His «act» was fantastic. He was not only sexy but comical and you could tell he put actual thought into it. He started with a little lap dance action with the bride, pausing occasionally to pick on another girl in the crowd. After getting down to his g-​string, I figured there would be a bit more dancing and then it would be done. I was wrong! He said «let’s play a game! — Suck for a buck!» He then proceeded to put a lollipop in his g string. Each guest had to retrieve their sucker in whatever hilarious position he put them in. It was a riot! He was original and inventive — the way most of us ladies like our men! *wink wink* Again, I though things were winding down when he started a new game. This time, he danced around with each girl — in even more hilarious positions — and then laid on the ground for body shots. It was extremely well planned out. He had all his supplies ready and waiting. The execution sent each girl roaring in laughter! After a little bit more dancing, the act concluded. He stuck around for a drink afterward, playing a round of «I Never» with us and then left. Should I need a stripper for another bachelorette party, I will certainly be requesting our buddy Jake. Kudos!
My only minor critique is the service ahead of time. Their line is often busy and when you happen to get a voicemail, you don’t always get a return call back.

Just like Ange D. I had also booked a male entertainer for Saturday (⁸⁄₁₆), I also requested a specific ‘gentleman’ and they ask you for a second choice so I chose another ‘gentleman’. I requested a specific outfit, a fireman. He was supposed to be there at 9:30pm. He arrived at 10. Which okay, the company called me Friday to let me know that he would either be a few min early or late.
So the guy gets to the room, its more than obvious it is NOT the guy I requested. I asked him his name, and I proceed to ask where is the guy I requested. All he said is that he goes by many names. It turns out it was actually his 2^nd time at a bachelorette party, he did not have the costume I requested and he said he would come out full blown naked, with only his hat covering him up. I said, u better come out with something! Your supposed to «STRIP» your clothes. He tells me he needs 5 minutes to change.
Time goes by, maybe 6 – 10 minutes and he comes out, dances, but he looked very nervous, and I even had some girls telling him «do something, what are you going to do?» He was not very entertaining, he was nervous, he wasn’t the guy I asked for, he didn’t even have the right costume. Which I was very disappointed because he happened to come out in the costume I told the customer service lady I did not want at all. And keep in mind that they asked me for a second choice ‘gentleman’… The guy that showed up would not have been my 6^th choice either! I wanted a Latino dancer, they didn’t even send a Latino dancer.
Over all I am very disappointed. I tried calling them, and they picked up on the 2^nd ring. As soon as I started explaining what had happened, the lady hung up. I called back maybe 10 times, and no one will pick up my calls anymore. I e-​mailed them, and it is all useless.
I haven’t seen these dancers at that bar, I’m guessing they do perform good, because otherwise a whole bunch of women would be very annoyed and request their money back. If you want to book a male stripper for a personal party DON’T BOOK FROM CHICAGO GENTLEMEN. That was the WORST experience ever!!!

I planned a bachelorette party last Saturday (8÷9÷08), and was completely disappointed with this company. Let me start off by saying I had requested a certain «gentleman» to perform at this party. They told me he was available and actually told me how to pronounce his name. They then called me the Monday before the party to confirm. Come Saturday, they sent the wrong guy. Not only did they send the wrong guy, and I told him this, then he tried to overcharge me from what the website price says. To top it off he was horrible at entertaining. I would have rather had a random guy off the street.
I would not recommend this company, nor will I ever use them again.

As Maid of Honor, I felt it was my duty to provide the Bride-​to-​Be with a great Bachelorette Party. So last Saturday we went to Funk Groove Bar for the Saturday night male revue. The boys from Chicago Gentlemen put on a great show and I truly enjoyed it way more than I ever thought I would.
