One of the best special occasion experiences I have ever had. The restaurant is small with a light open feel. The noise level is low so that you can have a conversation. The wait staff is professional and attentive with no pretentiousness. The wine list is varied in price and selection. The food is delicious and interesting. The tuna tartare, lobster mac and cheese, and main course duck were superb. They gave us a bananas foster because it was a special occasion. And the view! Spectacular!

BADBADBADBADBAD!!! The service was fair at best. No one knew a single thing about wine and when I checked their prices against other restaurants wine lists, they were marked up between 5 and 7 times more then other comparable restaurants. The escargot was good but not great and the Greek salad was awful. It was swimming in oil. They sat my table next to a cracked window on the 70th floor which is not only illegal to operate with such a significant safety hazard, but tacky on top of that. Last THEHEAT, THEHEAT, THEHEAT!!! This is clearly a business having some problems because they didn’t have any air conditioning and the waiter said they were unable to adjust the temperature. It was unbearable. They had mobile a/c units but they didn’t help. 3 tables around us end up walking out. I would have also had I not noticed till the end of our meal the restaurant didn’t have hot water in the bathrooms. Which leads me to believe the restaurant was operating without hot water. Very much against the law. Ewwwww!!! This is and old restaurant trying to be relevant in a day and age it is not. It’s pathetic. I will not be going back.

My wife took me here for my birthday. Since the restaurant is in a very nice building and great location, she had assumed that the dining experience would be exceptional but unfortunately that was not the case. The server was very nosy and just outright Annoying. It was supposed to be a special dinner but he just didn’t seem very professional and was fairly inattentive. It took a while to order and to get our food(which was very very short of exceptional, average at best but overpriced for what it was). By the time we had finished dinner we were running short on time due to the slow service on a not so packed evening and were dying to just get the check and leave(which also took forever). Only good thing is the view but not worth going for it.

Came here recently for brunch. We sat by the window with an amazing view of the skyline and lake. The food was really great and everybody was nice. Might come back for dinner sometime to enjoy the sunset and city lights at night.

Went here to celebrate my birthday and the place did not disappoint! We went there during sunset and the view was just breathtaking. I tried the foie gras and the duck. Both were fantastic, especially the foie gras. Waiter was very attentive and friendly, and even gave me a small birthday cake on the house. The meal was definitely expensive though, around $ 200 for two people. Would definitely return next time I visit Chicago.

I guess you come for the view not the food, which was an absolute disappointment. We did this as a date night and my honey knows I love food but here nothing was spectacular about the overpriced fatty piece of meat I recieved(prime rib). Othing on my plate wowed me or even left a lasting positive impression. Can’t see going back there to eat maybe a night out for drinks but no food.

My fiancé took me here for our anniversary. Although the view was very nice, we had window seating across from the bar; the food was alright, nothing special. I’m not a huge Mac and cheese fan but the Lobster Mac and cheese sounds good and I’ve had it else where so I wanted to see if they make it just as good. Eh, I’ll pass next time. It wasn’t cheesy enough, felt more like I was eating lobster pasta with light gravy. I ordered the Filet Mignon, it was just ok… Basically you’re paying for the View. Just like how I feel about The John Hancock. You take people there to let them experience the view of Chicago, period.

Beautiful view, but the food and the service was not great. My boyfriend and I had to wait for a long time for our food to come out. And when they brought us our food, his steak was cold. Definitely not coming back.

I was skeptical of the negative reviews, but took the elevator up to the 70th floor of the 505 Lake Building near overlooking Navy Pier with an open mind. The panoramic view from our table was gorgeous: the windows to one side overlook Navy Pier and you can see several miles in every direction. We were there for Sunday brunch, but I’m sure it’s even nicer at night. We were a large party(11 of us), and we were the only customers there for some time. Eventually, a few more folks trickled in but the ambiance suffered a little in my opinion due to lack of activity. The décor is slightly gaudy, but the carpeted floor is a nice touch. I chose the appetizer-and-entrée deal for $ 35. For my first course, I went with the tuna tartar, which set the tone nicely. The dish was plated with style and care, and everything from the roe, to the fish, to the little crisps were very good. I had a taste of my brother’s sweet-potato lobster bisque and it, too, did a great job blending flavors into a cohesive experience. My main course, the lobster sandwich, was less satisfactory. My biggest issue was with the toast, which was neither crunchy nor soft, but instead existed in some weird Styrofoam-like state. The cold lobster filling was acceptable, but I could’ve done with more. The truffle-parmesan fries were admittedly quite delicious. My poor review is less about the food and, like many other people, more about the service. I understand that larger groups can be difficult to handle. But if your clients are paying $ 40 plus a pop, you lose the right to use that as an excuse. Our server seemed like a good guy, courteous and well-meaning, but could definitely use some polish. Maybe he was new? I can overlook minor details like forgetting who ordered what, but splitting the check was a disaster… it took over 30 minutes for us to get our credit cards back, and the charges were all wrong when we checked later. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth, despite food that was acceptable and a fantastic view.

Cite is perched high above the hustle and bustle of the city right off of LSD with floor to ceiling windows and a 360 view. Whether you are there for drinks, dinner or dessert, the ambiance and service is impeccable. The food is always fresh and delicious. Fireworks can be seen from Navy Pier throughout the summer.

I dined here on Valentines’ Day with my boyfriend. There was a Prixe-fixe menu and everything they served us was absolutely incredible. My mouth is watering thinking about it. My boyfriend absoultly loved the lamb that he ordered. You also get a breathtaking view of the city and the lake. The views are a lot better than the Signature Room. This restaurant is excellent for special occasions.

It was my birthday weekend. I was told to dress really nice. I was very excited because my other half was spoiling me everyday that led up to my special day. So of course, I was very anxious to see where he was taking me. As we were driving downtown, my curiosity grew stronger. We pulled into the parking of the building I got very excited. As we reached the top, I was in awe of the beautiful view that this restaurant offered as you walk in and even while dining on the delicious food from the chef recommendations, to the appetizer, the entrée and even the dessert. The service was even top-notch! So gentleman, if you want to spoil that special lady… this is the place… she’ll love you for it!

My second time back at Citè & I never get tired of soaking up the beautiful view of the Chicago skyline. Arrived at 5 p.m.(when the restaurant opens on Sunday). Tons of open tables to have an intimate view high above the city on the top of Lake Point Towers of the revolving restaurant providing a 360 degree view of the beautiful Chicago skyline. The food is top quality with unique items on the menu. For starters we enjoyed the«Ahi Tuna Tartare» Next for entrees we had the«Cervena Striploin venison» and the Filet Mignon Au Poivre«(both cooked to our liking). Lastly for dessert we choose the«Chocolate Hazelnut Cake». Prices are steep but worth the experience . Highly recommend this restaurant for an intimate dining experience with a beautiful view of Chicago up above with quality food & dining experience.

This place is a bit pricier than Signature Room on 360 John Hancock, but definitely a better view! Staffs and view were amazing! Food was not super nice, but I still liked it. This is definitely a strong candidate for a special occasion! I came here for 5th anniversary dinner. I mentioned it when I made reservation at open table and we got a special décor of rose petal. That was lovely! Stuffs were welcoming and service was very nice! When you show parking ticket, you can get discount. It was $ 20 instead of $ 32.

Valentines Dinner: The food & drinks were good. Table settings… lovely. View… Amazing! Our server(william) very unpolished and sloppy. To start, we had to ask for our waiter, then he forgets our soup and brings it after our entrée. Then we had to ask for our dessert and prior to that, never asked if we wanted another glass of wine. And lastly, he brings the bill out face up on a tray without the folder. That was the icing on the cake. But…the entire time Santos(a runner) was Amazing. Very sharp, personable, polite and made our night very enjoyable. He definitely deserves recognition. Santos was Stellar!

I hate to write reviews like this, but Cite was rather disappointing. Way too overpriced for average food. The portions are minuscule and wine ridiculously priced per glass.

My husband celebrated his 50th Birthday a few weeks ago and as part of the celebration, he wanted to try Cite. When I called for a reservation, I mentioned his birthday and they noted it and proceeded to decorate our table with rose petals and even put his name on the menu. It was a really nice touch — something we both appreciated. And truth be told, I wasn’t sure they would remember to do this for him. I’ve made reservations before and mentioned a birthday and lo and behold the day it arrives, the restaurant completely forgets about it. Cite raised the bar on that. The restaurant is really pretty and while I specifically requested a table by the window, so many of their tables have a great view. We really could not have gone wrong. Our service that night was also really good and it met all our expectations. The manager stopped by a few times to make sure we were happy — another nice touch. As for the food — I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. After reading all the reviews, I was not anticipating much. I was completely surprised. We both did the Tasting Menu and I definitely think that’s the way to go. It wasn’t a ton of food, but it was a nice mixture and each of the different courses was good. There actually was not a course that I did not like. From the shrimp to the lobster ravioli to the salad to the venison. Everything was really good. And on top of that, we requested that we swap out the dessert for the bananas foster and our waiter did just that(which was much appreciated b/c the bananas were delicious!). I know some people are complaining about the price — but $ 90 for a multi-course meal with a fabulous view and great service was well worth it in my mind. I would definitely come back to Cite and I recommend it to others. While it’s not a place you go weekly, it’s a place you bring people to on special occasions or when you just want to splurge for dinner.

The food was excellent. I highly recommend the seafood risotto. Their signature dessert(bananas foster) was delicious too! Our waiter was nice so we did not have any bad experience with the service. The price was worth for the food and the view.
