Sue. Sue is quite the evil villain from your worst dry cleaning horror stories. I bring a pair of $ 174 black J. Crew pants that had leather tuxedo paneling to the east tower of Alta Cleaners. When I get them back, I hang them in my closet, and go to wear them some time later. The top of one of the panels is distorted because apparently, Sue and her minions are not capable of cleaning leather at her facility. I take them back downstairs and ask if there is anything to be done. Rosa tells me that she can ask. I hand over the pants and ask for a receipt and she tells me that«It’s okay. We know who you are» and tells me they’ll call me with an update. I never hear back. Long story short. Cause this was seriously a year ago. I try calling Sue a number of times over the last year. One time, a couple of months ago, she tells me that she«doesn’t have time for this» and hangs up on me. Like puts the phone down into the receiver while I’m talking. I just tried calling her back again because the management office suggested I ask her to submit a claim to her insurance. I find out that they don’t actually lease the place to her. She gets it for free because it’s a convenience to the residents. A «CONvenience» if you will. Hey OH! Bud-um-ching! So I call Sue back and I tell her my story again and she says things like «you don’t have a receipt,» «you can’t prove anything,» «we don’t have a record that you ever brought anything here,» «I don’t have to listen to you» — this of course was her response when I asked her to stop talking over me so I could finish conveying my story. So there’s that. Take your clothes to the Alta at K Station cleaners because it’s easy. Don’t expect to get them back in good condition. Don’t expect to ever get them back. And don’t expect to be reimbursed if they lose them.

I NEVER imagined when I sent my dress to the dry cleaner that would mean I would NEVER see it again nor did I ever think that someone would find it acceptable to return my dress to the store after they ruined it, without my permission! The actions this dry cleaner and Sue, the business owner, are completely inexcusable and irrational. I had a brand NEW dress that I had altered and I wanted to get it dry cleaned before I wore it. My building has a service called Alta Cleaners(in Alta at K Station) but they send our dry cleaning out to Cleaners Mail Comp. When I picked up my dress from getting dry cleaned it had black marks all over it that were NOT previously there. I gave it immediately back to them and pointed out all the black marks. I picked the dress up for a second time and it STILL had black marks all over it. Once I found out that the dry cleaning service at Alta at K Station actually sends our clothes to Cleaners Mail Comp at 900 N Kingsbury St. I brought my dress there directly to show them what happened so that they could fix it. The manager, Sue, refuses to see customers so you have to work through her employees. I left my dress with them and asked them to call me. I kept checking back for an entire week to find out what was going on with my dress only to get a voicemail from the owner, Sue(a week later) telling me that she returned my altered ruined dress to the store and I would get a refund! I was SHOCKED! I could not believe she returned my dress that I had already paid to get altered that she now ruined to the store WITHOUT my permission! Never go to this dry cleaner! And if you live in a building that has a pick up dry cleaning service FINDOUTWHERETHEYARESENDINGYOURCLOTHES. If they send them here, the convenience is NOT worth what you may have to deal with when CMC ruins your clothes!

I used this dry cleaner for the better part of two years. During this time, the girls at the counter were great — super nice and friendly. Their prices are fairly high, but for me, it was worth it until they mangled the cuff on one of my expensive shirts. The owner was there and refused to do anything. She basically told me to take my shirt and leave, saying that they only made $ 0.20 a shirt, and that it wasn’t worth doing anything to help me. On top of it, she was fairly rude about it. I probably have a dry cleaning bill of between one hundred and two hundred dollars a month. They are in the building where I live, so I was an easy sale. I will never, never go back there. I’m happy to pay money for good service. I’m not happy to pay money to be lectured to rudely after you’ve destroyed my clothes. I recommend goi elsewhere for your dry cleaning.

This place is awful! I brought in some items for drycleaning — I usually go to Larabee Cleaners but thought I would try out this place because it’s closer to me. Terrible mistake. I went to pick up my clothes and when I got home I noticed a shirt that wasn’t mine. I brought it back and realized that I had brought in a similar shirt which was now missing. The girl at the counter told me she remembered I brought in a white sleeveless blouse, so she found one and gave it to me assuming it was mine and figured since I didn’t say anything initially it must have been mine! Seriously?! So she called the plant to try to find my shirt which has yet to be found. I asked what happens if they don’t find it. She said they will give me a store credit for the cost of the shirt but they will not reimburse me. So then I will have a credit to bring more things back there for them to lose? I don’t think so. When I asked if I could talk with the manager, she told me that the manager drops in unannounced from time to time but she doesn’t have her phone number. Don’t them anything you expect to get back.
