Cloverhill Bakeries

I bought a package of Lakeside Bakeries Cream Cheese Crumb Cakes and found ants in the cake itself. I am not exaggerating on this one bit. I have proof in 2 photos and the package was closed when I purchased it. They are white ants and I hope that I didn’t swallow any.

Can’t say that I’ve eaten anything from here, but walking past cloverhill from the metra stop unfurls a smell so sweet that it’ll give you diabetes.

I tried the cream cheese crumb cakes. Best gas station cup cakes ever! I would never have expected such a magnificent consistency.
I have yet to try another flavor but I hope these guys stay in business, if not just to make those crumb cakes…

Unlike the previous reviewer I didn’t get to bask in it’s delightful baking smell. I got to taste it for the mere cost of eighty cents and out of a vending machine. These bear claws BLOW! The taste is mechanical, I want a refund. Alas, I purchased mine from a vending machine. I’d successfully avoided vending machine goodies for sometime but this place I’m working at currently hasn’t got a convenience store and I was hungry. Two bites into the bear claw and I lost my appetite. Within minutes of being outside its package it lost its moistness and became hard. The taste of the topping is almond maybe? It’s overwhelming, smelly and if you look at the ingredients there are far too many glcyerides, sulfites, acids, bleh. 470 calories! Gosh. Get rid of that nasty topping and then maybe its feasible for eating.

I just moved to the area, and when I drove along Narragansett I kept smelling cinnamon and sugar. I thought it was churros, because once I saw someone selling them on the street, but I kept smelling them and not seeing them. Sometimes I even smelled the scent in Oak Park.
So after much online detective work, I feel confident this is the source. The factory here makes bear claws and cinnamon buns and the like. Unfortunately none are vegan so I do not partake, but the smell is nice so they get some stars.
