It is very sad, but this place closed about a year ago. Seems the economy was too much.

I recently moved to Bridgeport and one day decided to stop by. Sadly, Coffee Pot closed a month or two ago. A sign on the door said it was because of the decline in the economy. A taste of things to come to the small business.

Good coffee. Friendly owner. High ceiling. Big room. Very comfy. Good for working and studying. You won’t be bothered by others. But…there was no AC when I went there on a very very hot summer day. I was almost melted. But still, I like this place so much.

I went to this place based on Unilocal Reviews. Loved it! Roy is the nicest. He makes sure everyone’s super comfortable. Free wifi. Open tables. Free parking. Cheap, tasty food. And super quiet — PERFECT for studying. A fantastic alternative to Panera or Starbucks. I highly recommend.

really good spot to study; the staff tend to keep the music relatively quiet, it’s not super busy, and you feel comfortable sitting here for hours without any awkwardness, even if you are the only person there. it would be great to see them expand their menu a bit. still, when i asked for an all-veggie sandwich the person working here was really amenable to the idea and made me a simple not-on-the-menu sandwich.

I love this place! The owner, Roy, is an incredibly welcoming and friendly host. He envisions his coffee shop as a place where the community can come together, and he regularly hosts a variety of events such as book readings and music shows. Local artists’ work is displayed on the walls and a bookshelf showcases local businesses. It works for me on so many levels: — There is a free parking lot. — You will never feel rushed. — Free Wifi. Lots of electrical outlets. — The space is roomy and bright. — They make good, serious coffee. Even decaf. Each cup is made to order. — They have ice cream. — A variety of newspapers are always available and nicely displayed.

My first thought walking in here was«how can we transplant this place to Hyde Park?» With its high ceilings, exposed brick walls, and local art, this coffee shop is a pleasure to be in and has been decorated with care. It is a great spot for studying — plugs near the tables, free wi-fi, free coffee refills(of good-tasting coffee), and a range of very affordable sandwiches and snacks. The people working there were friendly and quite laid back. There is also a free lot adjacent to the building, so you don’t have to worry about parking if you are driving(if not, there is a cta stop nearby). If I lived closer, I could see myself becoming one of the regulars. Definitely worth a visit!

I just spent all day here studying and never once felt pressurized to leave — friendly owner, great coffee with free refills, bright and cheery décor, free parking and wifi… really there is nothing bad to say about this place!

I love this place. I couldn’t believe when I read that a new coffee shop had opened in this otherwise desolate corner of Bridgeport, a corner that my apartment just happens to be located in. It’s run by husband and wife, and they go out of their way to make your morning happy. The food is good, the atmosphere is cozy, with exposed brick walls and thought given to color. I love the bottomless cup for one price idea which they seem to heartily believe in… and…they have free wi-fi! This place has soul and I hope very very much that it succeeds… I’ll certainly frequent it often. Honestly, this is more than I ever hoped for to be by me. Bridgeport’s been quickly losing, not gaining, good things. Also, since the last review, they now have Sunday hours. A couple suggestions: The dining room is a little too formal now, I think. How about some plushy chairs? Also, what about being able to drop your mail there in the morning on the way to the train… since all those blue mailboxes have been quickly disappearing, but you still have to drop your mail somewhere… that’s what I thought the«Mail Drop» part of the name originally meant, though the idea of renting mailboxes to keep regulars coming in is a cool and unusual idea too.

So, I was driving along Archer Ave and was pleasantly surprised to see a new coffee shop in the neighborhood. My GF and I dropped in shortly thereafter and found Coffee Pot to be very spacious and cozy. Several oil-on-canvas ‘local-artist’ feel paintings hang against exposed brick walls on both sides of this coffee shop. As a bona fide maildrop, Coffee Pot also has an array of gold post-office boxes, they seem very industrial but since this place is so airy, they seem to just blend right in. We ordered some Chai Tea, which was delicious, and shared a frosted lemon square. They offer a range of pastries and have a small menu of sandwiches. What I would really like to see is a full brunch menu, if only because the atmosphere in this place is so warming that it would be just perfect for a Sunday morning brunch. Oh yeah, bring your laptop because they have free WiFi and outlets near the tables. They also have a parking lot in the south-west corner of the block. Overall, I’m giving Coffee Pot 4.99 stars because of their friendly staff, good tea, and welcoming café. Once Coffee Pot builds a decent clientele, I’d love to see that menu expand to include brunch, but until then, they seem to be off to a great start…

As I write my review, I’m enjoying a yummy, bottomless cup of coffee from Coffee Pot. It’s located on a busy street(Archer) but cars drive by so quickly, it’s really easy to miss. I finally thought I’d stop by after hearing about it from my boyfriend. I love the open-ness of the café, the exposed brick wall(it’s really cozy), and the huge mail box(it’s like an art piece) sitting against the wall. I ate before I got here so I’ll give the paninis a try next time… They have soups, bagels, salads, smoothies, and all the drinks a coffee shop has to offer. My barista(is that what you call them?) was nice and I got a student discount… cause they know students have no money. I’ve been sitting here for an hour now enjoying their free wifi… and procrastination is in progress.
