Going to agree with Joy. Picked her for the same reason, as you just need to have a pediatrician identified after birth, but the crew there is just not good. I wouldn’t say they are dangerous, but you don’t see such a low quality in healthcare like this anymore. On a snowy day, none of them were there for over three hours, and none of them called to reschedule. Here’s some other things I wasn’t less-than-happy with — They only take cash or checks(what medical profession doesn’t take credit cards) — The place is a bit dirty and reminded me of my pediatrician… from the 70s and 80s. — She repeats inquires from the prior visit. All three visits, she asked if we had a humidifier, but never explained why — She contradicts herself. On or first visit, she said not to over-feed our baby. On the second after concerned that he didn’t increase in weight, she asked why we weren’t feeding him enough — After we switched pediatricians, our new one was curious as to why some tests were re-run when indicators were in the normal range — And Dr. Tandez and her staff are in general poor communicators. Perhaps they are better in Spanish than English — The place is always busy(which should be a good sign) but expect to wait a lot (We are now going to Children Healtcare Assoc, and are 10X happier in just one visit)

We’ve been taking our 6-month-old here since a couple of days after we brought her home. We only picked her because she is close by and accepted by our insurance(we didn’t research before we went to the hospital, and we didn’t have a minute to do it after she was born). Overall, I’ve not been too pleased. We are first-time parents, and we don’t know what we’re doing, so I really wanted a pediatrician whose knowledge I could trust and who would help us make informed decisions. As nice as Dr. Tandez is, I always feel as if I need a second opinion after I leave her office. Our problems so far: **Reception staff is a bit disorganized. The first time, they booked us during open clinic hours, so we had an appointment and waited about 90 minutes to get in. We’ve always had to wait, even if we do have an early appointment. **The place is a little dirty. I am not the best housekeeper, I’ll admit – but I’d hoped that a doctor’s office would be clean enough to prevent me from thinking about the fact that it is a giant petri dish of kid germs. **Dr. Tandez rarely asks about developmental milestones, other than rolling over. If I don’t ask, she doesn’t usually bring it up. Also, she seems to be abnormally focused on flat head syndrome. That seems to be all she cares about! She has asked us to come in two extra times just for her to check on our kid’s head and possibly send her to a specialist who would officially measure her for a helmet.(Why couldn’t we just go straight to a specialist?) I am actively looking for new pediatricians.

I’ve been taking my son to Dr. Tandez’s office since he was born, that’s nearly 14yrs. She is AMAZING. I love how she answers all our questions and addresses all of our concerns. What I don’t like is that they book 3 – 4 patients for the same time, so if you aren’t the first one to get there with the appt time you chose, they will see everyone else before you.(I personally recommend to get to your appt time 30−45mins) before your scheduled time, or request the first or last appt of the day.
