Nice place! Fast and efficient. Coffee is horrible but they have some great breakfast sandwiches and the layout is nice. Lines can get very long on weekends so give yourself extra time. Nice outdoor patio

I work next door, but this is it, i won’t be returning to this location. I try to give them another chance over an over and I return here once a week and they ALWAYS mess up with something. Today was TOOMUCH. I bought the last slice of lemon pound cake and after I paid, the cashier sliced it in half! I’m like, «What are you doing?, I bought this here several times and I already paid for the slice» the rude manager Arturo Bustos stepped in saying, «we have been giving you the wrong size then, this is the right size» so I asked for a full refund and went to the starbucks next door, where they treated me like a customer. Both managers are doing a pathetic job there, whenever I need coffee the pots are empty, my orders take forever to get ready if I order food in the mornings, etc. In fact, I ordered freaking pound cake because I didn’t want to wait, and then this happens. Oh, well, I hope they enjoyed the last thin piece they kept in order to hold the price tag in place. #Stupid

So I was on conference calls so late in the morning but I missed breakfast in the hotel. So I Walked on down the magnificent mile and stopped in at the corner bakery for breakfast. Folks at the counter are nice… service is quick… food is hot and taste good… and has a little bit of a view based on this location. Did what I wanted(and more)

Located a few doors down from Starbucks, inside a building(the sign is visual from Michigan). My husband and I stopped by the Corner Bakery Café this late afternoon for a little snack. I was in the mood for something sweet and as soon as I saw the bars, I knew I wanted one. So this is what we ended up ordering: Lemon Bar, $ 2.69 prior to tax– My husband is a fan of lemon bars and decided to order this one. I liked the cake like lemon layer, on top of a chewy bar like layer. Together, it was truly a wonderful experience. The lemon flavor wasn’t too sweet and had the right balance of sweet and sour/tartness. Maple Pecan Bar, $ 3.29 prior to tax– Just as I had expected, this maple pecan bar was delicious. I loved the nutty flavor from the pecans and the sweet maple flavor. This dessert was an easy chew(but is a bit sticky, so be sure to brush your teeth so your dentist isn’t upset when you come for your next teeth cleaning). — — — — — — — — — — — – (Total= $ 6.59 after tax… sales tax in Chicago is currently 10.25%…that is pretty high!) The employee(whom I am suspect is the manager or supervisor) who took our order was friendly. We did not wait too long to get items after ordering. When he placed our bars on a plate(we dined in on this visit), he handled it to me, along with utensils wrapped in a napkin. But both my hands were full(and my husband was heading towards the beverage fountain to get some water for the both of us) and told him I can put my stuff down and come back. But he told me he can carry it out to our table and that it was no trouble at all. I really appreciated that extra step he did for me. Although the Corner Bakery Café is a chain, I still really like their desserts and am glad to have stopped by today(and also poach off their free WiFi while savoring my dessert and taking a few minutes to just relax).

My daughter works in the building this Corner Bakery is housed in, and I called in to put together a box of baked goods to send up for her birthday. The staff went above and beyond to fulfill my request, even going so far as to hand-deliver it and include a heartfelt note. I really appreciate the level of customer service and attention to detail, the delivery made both of our days.

Visited for a quick breakfast last week. Had the bacon, egg, cheese and avocado sandwich on sourdough toast. The sand which was great and the service was fast. Looking back I wish I had gotten the oatmeal as it looked amaze! Would recommend for a quick casual breakfast.

As Corner Bakeries go-or any of our fast casual places-this one takes the top spot. They are always so so friendly here! They check in on you and make sure you’re enjoying your food. And just the pleasantness and pride everyone takes in their work here is lovely! I know downtown is not always the easiest or friendliest clientele, and that can grate on a person(I know-I work retail down here!) so I just want to give a shout out to everyone here. My food is always prepared well and served quickly, with a smile. It really is the little things that make the experience! Thanks guys!

Love this place! Steel-cut oats with everything except walnuts is my go-to here, and coffee, of course. Excellent staff although I do miss Davion. Their scramblers and paninis are also good.

They are speedy and good for a quick coffee. However, they are moderately but not incredibly friendly, particularly at coffee shops I look for a little more of a personal vibe — but what are you going to expect at a chain? This place is good to stop in if it’s on your way somewhere, but certainly don’t go out of your way. There are much cuter, less corporate places to get coffee or study.

The manager Jeremy is truly a very kind man. Really knows hospitality. I enjoy coming in whenever he is here.

Soup tastes like its out of a can. Flatbread chicken cesar is good. For those with food allergies, their ingredients dont reflect reality. Paprika or red pepper is nowhere on the list according to staff, yet its in the soup thats why 2 stars only.

Kind of hard to find — in the back of building lobby. Very friendly staff. Your typical Corner Bakery fare.

The staff is friendly but the food is just not great. Our party had salads and a torta. The bacon on the torta had congealed grease and the salads(Southwest) was equally disappointing. Now we know we why the restaurant was empty…

Walked in for a quick breakfast bite before hitting a river cruise. Business was booming at 10:30am and it was a push to get in line. I expected this«chain» bakery to have more options. There are NO gluten-free breakfast options other than yogurt(ugh!). My mom decided to order a breakfast panini. She inquired about specifics because she wanted to order a Power Panini she previously had and enjoyed. The cashier seemed annoyed and in the end she did not get the panini she wanted. However, she somewhat enjoyed the one she did order. Overall not a good experience and won’t be going to this location again.

Considering that for a couple bucks I can sit outside dabbling away on free wifi ogling the superfine pigeons and the likes this place could do everything wrong and I would still five star em.

While visiting Chicago for a convention earlier in the month, I stumbled across the Corner Bakery and was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the place, friendly staff and a variety of fresh dishes, including a great breakfast menu reasonably priced compared to hotel prices! I believe they have a number of locations within the Chicago land area. Next time I’m in Chicago I will certainly go back and visit. A must if you are in Chicago!!!

Never saw one of these before, the chain doesn’t have a CT location. It’s a really nice place with fresh, made to order food. We had breakfast here today, it’s located inside an office building. You order at the main counter and they bring it to your table. I had a scrambled egg whites with tomatoes, spinach and apple turkey sausage. It was served with toast and your choice of home fries or fruit. I was surprised how big the portion was– Lots of tomatoes and spinach, Food was excellent –it ran about $ 10 with coffee. A nice solid, reasonably priced meal.

This Corner Bakery serves consistently worse food than other Corner Bakeries in the area, every sandwich, soup or other item I’ve gotten here was somehow less pleasing than at other locations. And their service is hit or miss, you come in wanting to order quickly on your lunch break and you get a girl who hates her job and doesn’t care about you or your order and won’t stop talking to her co-worker long enough to take your order – or you get a guy who makes smart-ass/sarcastic remarks about your order. Not cool. Go to the Corner Bakery on Wacker and Michigan instead.

If you are staying at any of the hotels in the area, this is a quick place to get breakfast. It is a bit on the pricey side, but I’m sure they get away with it because of their central location. Also, any place in a central business district can charge high prices because everyone is eating out on corporate expense accounts! I had a bagel, which was overpriced and not very good. But the coffee I had was delicious and you can get yourself a refill. This is definitely not a destination dining spot, but if you are in the area and need something quick and relatively healthy, it will do the trick.
