Curtain Couture

They did a great job on our initial order of roman shades and a bolster cushion. We had an issue with the roman shades pulling loose from the cord. It took awhile to get them to come back, but they did and now the shades are more secure. Thanks to Penny for her assistance.

Highly recommend both Nina and Jason. Over the past 4 years, they have outfitted nearly every room in our home with some form of window treatments (shutters, draperies, blinds…) and even a 7 foot upholstered headboard. Both are incredibly patient, professional, and obsessed with details (in a good way). Re: pricing — found a wide range of fabrics and they were both VERY willing to help find a price point that worked. Can’t recommend enough. Wish we had more windows!

I had Nina and Jason out to give us a quote on window coverings for a new home that we purchased. It was a large project, with large commercial windows, in a 4400 sq ft house.
Nina, the Owner, was great and really seemed to know what she was doing. Jason, the Designer, was super helpful and we connected right away and he made many great suggestions. They didn’t bring many samples with them, even though I told the person on the phone when I initially called exactly what type of fabrics I was looking for. No big deal. Jason ran back to the office with some wallpaper and chair fabric samples I had given him and he came back w/​i an hour to go over them. I was happy with that.
To my dismay, their quote came in QUITE higher than 2 other quotes we received. They wanted 20k to do our entire home and the other two quotes we received were $ 13k and $ 13,500. Nina’s labor was what surprised me the most — 10k in labor alone. In one room, she wanted to charge $ 1728 to sew two sets of sheer panels together and $ 1440 for 2 pairs of drapery panels. That’s just labor and doesn’t include materials and installation. The other quotes I received were about $ 1500 – 2000 for that entire room including materials, labor and install. For the whole room (2 large windows), Nina wanted over 7k. 7k for one room when two other companies quoted me 13k for my whole house.
Needless to say, we didn’t go with Curtain Couture. I wrote Jason back an email that even though he and I really connected and I wanted to use them, I was disappointed in their pricing, namely the labor costs, and just couldn’t spend that kind of money.
What is most disappointing is that I never heard back from anyone.

I went in a couple months ago to have curtains made for my bedroom. The lady helping me was very nice, showed me a lot and then i chose fabric to be ordered for samples. A month later I still had not heard from them. I called and spoke to a lady, explained that i was waiting for samples, had they come in yet? She didnt know but said someone would call me the following Monday. 5 months later I have not heard a peep. I took my business somewhere else.

I had to replace all 5 of my Hunter-​Douglas Duette shades due to smoke damage from a fire next door. I live in a loft with an open mezzanine-​level bedroom. There is a 30-​foot drop from the bedroom window down to the floor below, making the installation very complicated.
I called at least 10 different Hunter-​Douglas retailers in the city and suburbs trying to find someone who would be willing to do this and everyone turned me down. Finally I found Curtain Couture (who happened to be just up the street from me). Nina was very willing to help and sent her installer, Mel, out that morning to see my home.
Not only were they willing to do the job, Nina did all the communication with the insurance company so that I didn’t have to. The shades were ordered and installed within just a few weeks and they look fantastic. I couldn’t be happier.

I had Roman shades made for my dining room. They were perfect and the staff was fantastic. They had extensive knowledge & expertise. Both the owner & installer were friendly & professional. They offered great suggestions. I will definately use them again.
