Ok nothing special… Hate to admit it but crisp is lot better! But will continue to give them support since they are trying

Not a huge fan of the wings here, but the dukkbokki is bomb. The rice cakes are extra crunchy and make the visit worthwhile!

I’ve been coming here for the past 3 years and I figured that I would finally give them the credit they deserve. Hands down some of the best tasting wings in Chicago. I normally order the jumbo spicy wings, but I sometimes get the spicy dak chicken bowl or beef bulgogi. The egg rolls and waffle fries are great too, although I wish they still offered the sweet potato fries. I would highly recommend Dak to just about anyone. It’s located directly off of the Granville red line stop and there’s usually ample parking available.

Place was clean and staff was actually knowledgeable and courteous! Fulfilled my jonesing for Korean food! Although I wish they had more of a diverse menu and soups! Highly recommend to anyone for anyone that hasn’t tried Korean fried chicken.

Every time I am craving for Korean food this is my place! It is one block from my apartment, it is never too crowd and the food get ready in a few minutes. It is not the place if you are looking for cheap meal but it is definitely worth the price for the amount and quality of the food.

I went there with three girls and we ordered one bulgogi with dabulgi as well as 10 wings. At first I thought we didn’t order enough, but it was so filling. The portion is huge, and I liked how the rice cakes are cooked crispy.

Great hole in the wall Korean fried chicken joint. Can here on Friday around 6 and there were plenty of seats inside. However, 30 mins later, this restaurant was full and the smell of fried chicken filled the air. My friends and I ordered the dak soy ginger wings and the dukbokki with bulgogi. The wings were AMAZING. Best wings I’ve had in a while. Perfect amount of crispness and the sauce is just the perfect blend of sweet and sour and savory. The rice cakes, on the other hand, were fried, and thus crispy on the outside but chewy on the inside. Go try this place, your tastebuds will thank you for it.

Great hole in the wall place with awesome wings. Friendly staff in a cute small space. Great for a quick lunch or to go

These wings are good but pretty average in taste and not too memorable. I’ve been here 3 times and each time was pretty underwhelming. I don’t really taste too much of a difference between the 2 sauces either. The bulgogi is good and tender but on the sweet side and the ddukbokgi is okay(it was really crispy and chewy the first time I had it, better the second time). Not a place I would seek out since I’ve had some amazing wings at other places around Chicago.

I’ve always enjoyed every item here! From the wings to the rice bowls to the fries to the ddubokki! The wings are very filling and the sauces are so delicious, from Dak to the spicy sauce. The rice bowls are just perfect and the meat with it is seasoned and cooked to perfection. There’s just so much harmony in all of it! The ddubokki here is very special, because they deep fry to to give it that crispy and extra chewy texture. It is seriously so addicting, especially with the sauce.

I’m torn writing this review: Should I give you 800 stars for the food or zero for increasing my waist-size? Seriously, though. The food is outstanding. Unlike so many other places, the menu is simple and straight-forward. Since it has opened, I’ve tried everything on the menu several times and haven’t encountered anything less than great. If they delivered, I might actually weep tears of joy.

These wings are the best! I’ve tried Crisp and they are very good too but I think Dak has a slight edge. I don’t know if it’s that I tried Dak first but I prefer it more. My wife on the other hand prefers Crisp as her favorite wings. Crisp has more flavors but I think the ginger and BBQ flavors are fantastic here. You decide which is better! But all I have to say is they had a top 5 wing here at Dak.

I gave them one star because it took over 40 minutes to get my food. I had read the Unilocal reviews and new it would take a while to get my wings because they are made to order. However, the five other individuals in my party received and finished their food before I even got my wings. When I went up to the counter after waiting 30 minutes to ask about my order they said they were just starting it. I think they legitimately forgot about my order and I wasn’t given anything for the wait. The wings were okay when I finally got them. Update: they were just really busy and felt bad for not keeping me updated on the status of my order.

Last night, a group of four of us came to Dak after escaping a nearby restaurant whose menu prices were all jacked up in the name of Valentines Day weekend.(Editorial: regular menu should *always* remain an option.) Dak was the perfect solution to our dining failure. For eight dollars, you get a quantity of rice, spicy pork, and pickled vegetables that leaves you fat and happy to the nth degree. And of course, don’t pass up their speciality, the Korean BBQ wings, which are so indulgent that it feels like you’re at some summer street festival as you gleefully chow down. For being a fast dining option, they make you feel at home. Fluorescent lights and aluminum chairs are tempered by wood and tile accents.(Besides, a place that hands you wet naps with your wings shouldn’t have much upholstery, for obvious reasons.) Thank you, Dak, for saving us from dinner mediocrity!

Full disclosure: I haven’t had anything besides the wings at this place besides fries. But honestly, this place has pterodactyl sized wings tossed in flavorful sauces, I don’t see why you’d need anything else. The Dak sauce is wonderfully sweet and tangy and the spicy sauce adds a mild kick to that spice, nothing too crazy though. It’s all made to order as well, so freshness guaranteed, although that adds around 15 minutes of wait time. I live in the area, so when I had my uninitiated suburban friends come down, we placed our order and went to Whole Foods to pass time and take advantage of the BYOB policy. That was a fantastic gastronomic experience, although one that my waistline can no longer afford. But for all you youngsters at Loyola and anybody else looking for quality wings, be sure to stop by Dak, you won’t be disappointed.

Ahhhh, loved their rice bowls. A little bit on the pricey side but yummy nonetheless, will come back to try the wings!

I’ve eaten here a few times now and every experience I’ve had has been pretty good. Service is okay, food is amazing. I’ve tried a few different things on the menu but if it’s your first time eating here, definitely get the wings! I prefer the soy garlic, I think the spicy BBQ tastes a little bit too much like gochujang; spicy but not really much flavor. I would say the soy garlic wings here are better than any of the wings at Crisp. They also seem a little bit smaller, but still MASSIVE so don’t worry about being hungry because five will definitely be more than enough to fill you up. I’ve also had the dukbokki with bugolgi which was good but I probably wouldn’t get it again. I really liked the bugolgi, but the dukbokki was a little bit overwhelming after a while. Also, fair warning: there are a couple of tables here but it’s been pretty crowded a couple times that I’ve gone(especially during dinner hours) so consider ordering carryout if you can! If you’re in the area and looking for some good chicken wings, definitely check this place out!

This was my go to spot when I was in college. Hungry? Dak. Sad? Dak. They have huge tender chicken wings and really good bibimbaps. The bibimbap is a little more on the pricey side at 13 dollars for a beef bowl, but it’s worth it. I’ve tried at least a few bibimbap places in Chicago, but none of them compare. The rice cakes here are pretty good too. However, the wings and bibimbap are the highlight of this restaurant.
