Do or Dye Salon

This is definitely a hidden treasure that I feel so happy to have discovered. I’ve had bad bad experiences with believing some reviews, so I came here with a whole lot of nervousness and honestly expecting to be let down again. I had lived with orange hair for over a month because I just didn’t want to damage my hair anymore. I kinda gave up on my blonde hair dream, I thought it couldn’t be fixed unless I went back to dark brown. I was wrong! I went in looking like carrot top and came out looking and feeling fabulous! This man is talented beyond belief, I saw pictures of his work on Facebook on REAL people and I was amazed, not only is he good at hair but he’s awesome at makeup too! I am recommending this place to anyone and everyone I meet and I am now a lifelong client. I love my hair and can’t wait to try different styles and colors.

Boysie is a talented stylist with the patients and the passion to leave you so fabulous you will have tears in your eyes looking in the mirror. ’nuff said!

Boise is really personable and lively, I love his energy but this is a review on he’s talents with hair I know but personality is important to me too. So anyways he is an awesome stylist and knows how to really make the the look you ask him you want to really work for you. I was really happy with how my cut and style came out and will patronize him again. He really does a great job and would recommend him to my friends, his prices are fair considering that I enjoy the likes of Mario Tricoci’s. The place is definitely hidden even with an address you can get lost, Lol

First time I’ve worked with this stylist in his little hide away amongst the tiny strip mall. You’d swear you’d never find the place because he doesn’t want to be «out» to the general public (no salon signs displayed!) but if you were curious enough to find out what business this was — windows hidden by long pretty curtains, you’d find your mini hideaway and awesome stylist.
Luis other wise known as «Boysie/​Boise» spent about 2 hours with me, it clearly appeared he genuinely takes the time out to get to know you while working with you. What I liked a lot too is that it was one on one, no one waiting on him but you and the stylist so, no sort of rush.
I got rid of my old color which contained highlights, cut about 2 inches and got myself some bangs along with whole new color — loved the final project!
Slightly expensive but I suppose this is because I’m still a student living with Mom. :(
He might possibly take walk-​ins but I’d say appointments most definitely preferred.
His salon is definitely modern and sheek.
He’s got a little jewelry showcase if interested, I saw some nice pieces.
Long story short…
I needed a new sheh-​bang and Boysie definitely made that happen — I will be back as he is definitely fun to work with and takes care of you.

Boysie has been doing my hair for 7 years and I’ve never walked away unhappy. He’s an amazing hair artist and always makes me feel like a gorgeous girl. If you’re not exactly sure what you want to do with your hair or make up he will never steer you wrong. Thanks for always putting a smile on my face.

No one in Chicago can do Color like Boysie. After I get my hair done by Boysie I have to go out and show off my new do. The compliments are always the best part of getting your hair done by Boysie. He is an amazing hair dresser and worth every penny.
