Tacos Margaritas Hot salsa & chips while you wait Juke box with Latin music Soccer game on every TV Beautiful waitresses Since this is my first time in «La Villita» part of South West Chicago /Little Mexico, I’ll have to admit I’m surprised at how fast the service was & how legit the restaurant was. I’ve had thousands of tacos from around the world & these are up there in my top 10 favorites. Lol I had the Tacos Al Pastor & Tacos de Carne Asada, I added avacado, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream to the Asada tacos just to try it. The Al Pastor ones just had onion, cream & cheese. They’re both on point though. Also, the margaritas were good.

I’ve been eating @El Chisme for many years. They’re consistent with providing good food at a decent price. I’ve never had any issues with them. I dont know what their delivery service is like because I always eat in. They have their own parking which is also very convenient. Really enjoy their roasted chicken!!! They have plenty of beef and seafood options as well. Though I usually go there for their chicken. Im sure they’ll be around for a long time!!!

El Chisme has the most expensive roasted chicken in Chicago. We usually order stuffed pizza and most of the time we pick up the order because we live a block away. A few days ago it was cold and we decided to order a roasted chicken to munch while we were watching a movie, we did not wanted to wait for a pizza because it usually takes an hour and the chickens are ready only to pack and deliver. So we ordered the chicken, half an hour passed and no delivery. After an HOUR we called back to find out about our order. First, they had the wrong address. We live on the 2600 south(Mexican community and the order was placed in Spanish) and they had 1600 south(African-American community), the delivery guy call us to confirm the address, he did mention that it was strange when he checked the address. Second, when we called to check for the delivery, we also asked for the total price and it was like $ 16.00 including $ 2.00 delivery. My God, we did not ask for the chicken dinner that includes rice and beans, and they responded that this order did not include the rice and beans. Third, the lady that took our order was very rude from the beginning and since we canceled the order because it took longer than an hour to try to deliver a simple roasted chicken one block away, she threatened us not to deliver anymore to our address. We have known El Chisme since they opened in the 80’s and we have been good customers for over 30 years, but with this service, prices and attitude they will lose a lot of sales. Next time we just walk to Cermak Produce across the street from El Chisme or we can drive to Pete’s Fresh Market or Sam’s Club for a $ 6.00 roasted chicken and for $ 16, we can also bring mush potato, macaroni salad, coleslaw, and rolls too. In addition, having in the neighborhood El Pollo Feliz and the new Pollo Feliz on 3120 W. 26th(I will try their food soon) one across each other, El Chisme has a lot of competition. The restaurant industry is highly competitive with respect to price, value and promotions, service, location, and food quality. Our community is highly focused on value and if other restaurants are able to promote and deliver a higher degree of value, El Chisme may suffer negatively affecting their sales. In addition, more local grocery stores are offering roasted chicken at $ 5 or $ 6 price. El Chime, can you compete with that?

As you enter Little Village, this is one of the first places you come to on the north side of the street. I love to come here for Mexican breakfast. It’s cheap, quick, and downright good. The chorizo omelette is out of this world, as well as the huevos ranchero. Comes with a side of rice and beans and the chips and pico are excellent. Also, you can take a whole rotisserie chicken with a side of rice and beans, and a 2 liter bottle of your favorite soda to go. Freshly made every morning. All for around $ 15 and enough to feed the whole family. In addition, I love the jukebox. It’s chock full of your favorite oompah ¾ time music.

Had lunch there with my family last Sunday. After informing the waitress of the small amount of fries in our order of fries, she stated, and I’ll translate, «Our order of fries have very little fries.» They should have a notation of that comment on the menu next to «Fries.» It would serve as an appropriate warning. Food is good. However, the service is questionable.

Delicious. Up there with elias and nuevo leon. I particularly like the breakfast menu(chilaquiles! and chorizo with eggs!). Practically under the arch on 26th street.
