They changed their name(LaCecina) ok so I have to say tacos de canasta very good. I’m glad they recommended this place. Very clean couldn’t complain! Chips and salsa were good too!

I really love this place, they serve a lot of interesting specialties that are unique to D.F. and their portions are generous and well done. They have pretty amazing ceviche for a cheap price. They’re also really nice. It’s also BYOB, always an A-f**king-plus.

This is Mexican diner food at its finest. Stopped in during the 18th Street Mole de Mayo festival to try their pupusas, one of our personal favorites, and my husband and I both agree we have found our new go-to place for this Salvadoran treat. For three dollars each, they are huge, flavorful and filled to bursting with ingredients. The complimentary chips taste housemade and come with a warm tomatillo salsa. The horchata is served the way it should be, slightly spicy in a glass with no ice. The space is small, with a long counter for solo diners and those that want to watch their meal being prepared in the open kitchen. Service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back to try their other menu options.

Ordered the enchiladas with red sauce with beans and rice. While the chips and salsa were quite good, the actual meal was VERY bland. Like, seriously no taste. Coming from Texas, I expected the food to be less than, but this was blasphemous. No flavor at all. My tastes buds were ready to be filled with an explosion of flavors, but, alas, were met with flavorless chicken, rice, sauce, etc. Try across the street at Neuvo Leon, their line made it seem like something worth waiting for. This restaurant fulfilled the«Mexican food up north sucks» prophecy.

If you are craving food only found in Mexico City(DF) like huaraches, tacos de canasta or alambre, there is no better place in Pilsen! Very authentic and delicious.

Stopped in to try steamed tacos-and they were really good. These are not the usual –these are filled with potato and chorizo, potato, beans, or pork skins. We also tried some guacamole, which the chef just made fresh for us. The place is small, fast-food type setup, ie go get your silverware and drinks. Service was ok, my friend spoke Spanish to our waitress but she brought our basket of tacos and one plate. Prices are very reasonable. I would definitely stop in if in the neighborhood.
