Elm Street Plaza Cleaners

I lived in Elm Street Plaza for four years and consistently used the cleaners 1 – 2 times per month for suits + shirts for work as well as my wife’s dresses. Over the years they helped me alter and hem new clothes, fix old jackets, and other difficult jobs, and kept us going strong through some intense wedding seasons. They always over delivered and were consistently the most dependable Dry Cleaner I’d ever worked with. They were never late with an item, and often would make repairs that I hadn’t even noticed or forgot to report. Professionalism, Dependability, and a truly friendly and welcome atmosphere. I could not and would not ask for anything more from anyone I did business with.

Accountable and dependable. My wife got her dress altered significantly and she was pleased with the end result.

Kind of surprised at the reviews. I have used them a few times. They did ruin a dress of mine, but paid for it in full no questions asked. I am moving from the area so I am allowing them to clean my wool coat again and I have had no issues. May be I just got lucky. I was sad about the dress, but I have since lost 20lbs so it wouldn’t fit anyway.

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a dry cleaners and there are some horrible dry cleaners in Chicago. They couldnt get 1 of 3 stains out a shirt. So I showed them the remaining stain and they offered to try again. However, when I got the shirt back, the stain that was originally there, was gone, but there were yellow (chemical looking) spots and blotches all over the shirt! The man who works there/​owns it wouldnt take responsibility, he wouldnt reimburse us, nor would he even give us the $ 1.50 back that he charged for the shirt in the first place. Once we got his wife on the phone, she was willing to pay for us to try it somewhere else, but he took the phone away from us and threw a $ 1.50 and yelled at us as we left completely defeated. DONT EVER GO THERE!!! IT DOESNT EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR!!!
