So it either you love Evil Olive or you hate Evil Olive. I’ve been here four times. It’s my go to night club in Wicker. The Sound System is amazing, and there is so much room to dance. They stay open sometimes to 5am. The bouncers can either be really cool or jerks. I suggest to RSVP prior to going to save money on the entrée cost. I’ve never had to pay to party here. Monday nights are my favorite! Porn and Chicken is such a cool concept.

Not the place to go to fright you prefer at least decent customer service. Every Time I’ve been there There’s been issues. A good fit for immatures. Great music tho.

I came last weekend for a show on Saturday night. I walked in and the door guy stopped me to «check your coat. It’s mandatory»… Ok so I check my coat. The lady behind me, wearing a similar jacket, isn’t stopped. Literally. The only difference between me and her is I’m white and she’s black. So. I walk back up to the door guy and ask why. Very politely like I’m confused: when really I’m far from confused. He tries to tell me that if I ask again I’ll be kicked out. Ummmmm???
We order drinks. $ 24 for 2 drinks: haha ok.
After the watery drink. I need to use the restroom. Where I’m treated like a f’ing criminal. The line is long. The women «staff» are rude. They let their friends cut in the line and then gave me the stink eye when I mentioned there is a line. Every time a lady walks out, the female staff pushes the lady out of the way to check the bathroom. Welllllll they aren’t actually checking because in the bathroom is trails of cocaine on the toilet paper holder. Which is gross.
Let’s talk about how every woman in there told me to not leave my drink alone. I appreciate women’s solidarity buttttttt the fact that it is well known that women get drugged there, potentially by staff, makes me never want to go there again. I don’t care what music is playing there. Ladies. Watch yourself. And your drink. Your $ 12 drink.
And people that aren’t black… Be ready to pay more, be given an attitude, and be threatened to be kicked out. Just because you’re not black. It’s a hostile racist ass place and I won’t deal with it again. Believe me. Everyone I was with wasn’t white … Yet I’m the one the staff treats like this.

Damn, damn, damn ohh how I love the music they play at this club on Thursday. But I will say all the reviews about girls getting raped and what not is pretty much true. I was escorting my wife to the restroom and was stopped by this huge hulk looking cat, and wasn’t allowed to pass this imaginary line. The price for drinks is mad crazy 26 dollars for 2x henny and red bull idk if I’m cheap or not but eww. Overall the people male and female come dress for the occasion and there wasn’t any dress code that I could see. So come at your own expense.
P.s a bottle of water is $ 4, and I doubt they will give a glass of water for free!!!
And that whole thing about closing at 5am naw, more like 2:00am that’s when the lights come on

Get your bracelets at the entrance… totally your monies worth… 5 drinks for $ 25.

Got down here tonight, overall good times. Interesting hodge podge crowd, a few guys and gals tried getting rowdy but the bouncers took care of things as needed. Touched base with a Latino, Puerto Rican, and black bouncer on the way out, let them know what was up. They all seemed cool. Will be back soon.

This place is legitimately dangerous for women. The men that work here will drug your drinks and I know someone who was sexually assaulted by an employee.
As a female, do not go here. As a male, prevent all your sisters, girl friends, daughters, cousins and any other female figures in your life from going here if you care about their well-​being.
If you do decide to take the chance, pre-​game before and don’t let the bartenders roofie you– girl or guy. Be safe and please take precaution.

Very disappointed with this establishment.
A friend of mine came here for a night out with friends and then proceeded to be drugged with ghb and sexually assaulted by one of the staff. This place should be investigated immediately to prevent future cases of sexual assault.

I am writing this to help protect all people, but ESPECIALLY women, to prevent a situation like this from ever happening again.
My friends and I were visiting Chicago. One of my girlfriends stayed an extra night and went to an event at EvilOlive on a Monday with some friends she knew in the city. Over the course of the night, she was roofied, someone followed her to the bathroom, and that person proceeded to have sex with her without her consent before someone intervened and carried her out of the club. She was crying, sick, and was raped at this establishment.
It might not have been the staff’s fault, but this situation still needs to be heard. Any establishment that fosters an environment where an incident like this can take place, must be reported and looked at twice. I want everyone to know this before coming to this club so that patrons can be protected in the future. While it may be hard for the authorities to take action, I wanted to let the Unilocal community know about the dangers of this establishment.

So I guess the bouncers last night thought they were workin the River North scene. Now there’s a dress code and $ 10 cover?! Needing a collared shirt for an after hours spot in Wicker Park makes no sense. Where else would I be wearing a collared shirt to party in Wicker Park?!
This used to be my go-​to spot for late nights & bangin music when I moved to Chicago a few years back. I’d always end up bringing my out-​of-​town guests here, which was pretty frequent. $ 5/​free entry and no dress code are now things of the not-​so-​distant past.
Evil Olive has lost its way. 3 strikes, now this venue is a destination of the past.

Not worth your time if you have a VALID PASSPORT. Kevin the bouncer doesn’t seem to understand immigration law. I paid $ 42 for an event and was turned away. Don’t be surprised if you hear from my immigration attorney very soon!

terrible place thats over priced. The staff is really rude and there is no class here at all. There are wayyyy batter clubs in chicago that are the same price to get in. there is no class here at all so I do not recommend it for dates or showing a friend thats new to the city. Hope this helps.

Fuck this place. Had the worst experience at a bar/​club ever. Had to wait to pay 10 bucks to get in… Got yelled at coatcheck when i was wearing a sweater. Got verbally abused by bouncer. Expensive drinks. And no free water even though i was clearly intoxicated. A cup of water. Really…

Horrible experience, bartender allowed other people charge my tab without authorization by me. I think she called the owners over and they had security detain me for not paying, yes detain. I showed them the receipt and they said that that doesn’t mean I paid it means I was charged lol. Than I show him my chase account on the phone and showed I paid. Than he said he was detaining me because I was going to dispute the charges. I wasn’t let go until I called 911 yes I called 911. I had a horrible time and don’t recommend this place at all.

Been awhile since I’ve been here, but a good friend invited me over recently a couple of Saturdays ago. I didn’t know they had house music rocking on Saturday nights!
Most people were getting their dance on and others were chilling over in the seats a little ways past the entrance. For some reason it was $ 15 for guys to get in that night… normally don’t like paying anything, let alone $ 15 to get inside of any venue but I was already there and I heard the music… LOL. Drinks were a little overpriced as well, but what club doesn’t raise the damn rates on what should be $ 6-​$ 7 drinks.

Evil Olive has a ton of events that I heard never really disappoint, so of course I had to go and check them out. I went for their Monday night P&C event which was even crazier since it was coupled with a costume contest. The energy in there was bananas! Essentially it’s like a giant rave and the constant flashing of lights made me pretty pissed that I didn’t have glo-​sticks. Everyone was in their own world and no matter how horribly all of the shots of tequila made them dancd, it was accepted. The place is pretty spacious, with a large main area and a smaller back area, which plays different music. It was definitely crowded, but hey, what’s a rave without purposely throwing your body into people while yelling inaudible things to each other?! Despite the crowd, the space handles it well and there are bars both in the front and back area to accommodate all. Speaking of the bar… *insert chicken story here*
I was pulled up onto the bar by some of the hot, female workers there. No way I was going to refuse. As I’m dancing on the bar with a host of other females also on the verge of slipping off, a person in a chicken costume comes and pours free shots down our throats! I don’t know why I thought that was the coolest thing ever. I need help.
I didn’t leave from there until around 2ish and had an absolute blast. Even the annoying males in search of attention were entertaining. And what else is better than free chicken at the beginning of the night. Nothing. Nothing at all.

If the answer to someone asking «What’d you do last night?» ends in «and then we went to Evil Olive» you know what comes before probably involved drinking heavily. It’s a late night dance club that doesn’t really cater to much but being shit faced and dancing your face off.
The staff is pretty rude and they don’t really carry anything other than Jameson and a few beers, but I guess that’s all you really need when you’re at a place who’s biggest night is porn and poultry.
That being said… who doesn’t like porn and who doesn’t like poultry? Put them together and it’s worth checking out on a night when you’re down to go wherever the wind blows.
There’s a cover and sometimes even a dress code which is weird considering the crowd, but you’ll probably have a good story to tell your friends the next morning after going here.

It’s not often these days that I review a club… particularly one that I ventured into after 2am.
When we arrived, the place was just getting filled up.
Lots of lights and great setup for the DJ above the crowd.
Go-​go girls were dancing.
There were two rooms, both packed by 3am.
Music was bumping, the girlies was hot…
there was a coat check, and being from texas, that was weird, but cool.
overall fun club, if I lived in Chicago and I still went to clubs, I would go back…
