Five Star Mobile Electronics

I bought a new Sony stereo with Bluetooth and needed installation. When I called Best Buy, they required an appointment and the tech is only on site 2 days of the week! They mentioned I should try another location if I’m in a hurry. I called around and other places I found via Unilocal didn’t seem at all interested in a «small job» as as mine. Some even try to convince me to buy a stereo through their shop instead, blah blah. I was not impressed!
When I saw Five Star Car Stereo and read its reviews, I thought it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try. Called the number and received a quote and response right away. I’m so glad I found this car stereo shop!
Mr. Lee was extremely efficient and professional. He was finished with the entire installation within 30 minutes. Other places told me it would take at least 60 minutes. Now, please keep in mind that I have an older vehicle (90s) and a Japanese car. Different vehicles and type of work being performed may take more or less time, so please don’t quote me on that. As with most services, always call and discuss what is needed to receive a direct quote from the professional.

So I’m an international student from India and found this place close to my apartment. Mr. Lee was very kind, down to earth, honest and helpful. He did a perfect and fast stereo installation for me for a very good price. Towards the end I asked to buy an auxillary wire and wasn’t satisfied until I got the best fitting one which was the same price even though I said it was okay. Oh yeah and screw best buy they wanted me to set an appointment online and when I got there their behavior was like they were doing me a favor while Mr. Lee was conversating with me during the installation. Oh and the price was $ 100 cheaper.

Really nice guy, professional and knows what he’s doing! Great prices, will definitely come back.

It’s near Chinatown and run by a quirky guy who speaks really fast. He does decent work (I’ve bought 2 remote starters from him), and his prices aren’t bad. I’m contemplating about seeing if he can install an aftermarket stereo for a new car. My only reservation is his customer service.
The shop sits in an area that’s pretty run down and it’s easy to drive right on by his place. It’s no frills and he doesn’t have a shop, but rather does his work in an alleyway… or maybe he has some tucked away garage (at his house?) that he takes his cars to work on.
He’s HARD to get ahold of. His posted hours are not accurate, he seems to come and go as he pleases. Which is fine since it’s his small business, but as a customer, it’s almost impossible to predict when he’ll be there. More than once, I’ve shown up in normal business hours to find his shop locked up (even his employees can’t seem to track him down at times).
All and all, if you feel comfortable about the quirks, he does do decent work. However, I’d probably feel better about taking my car to him if I could track him down easier.

My tire was blown and I was riding on one spare. I needed to get my snow tires on desperately, for the weather conditions as well as safety so my brother told me to just stop by Five Star. They were courteous and inexpensive. And I probably waited under an hour there — they actually let me sit behind the counter, right by their heat to keep warm.
They offer a ton of other stuff for your car too and can just about install anything you need on the spot (as I witnessed another customer get installation done). Great place!
