The Doc here sure did me right! I had been experimenting with mono-vision contact lens and had been unable to get the concept to work for me. I had seen 2 other eye docs over the years wanting to have mono vision contact lenses. This guy nailed it for me! He switched my dominant eye AND added astigmatism lens to one eye and WOW! I would have given the shop 5 stars, but had a bit of a go around on the high cost of disposable lenses. Now I get my prescription here but elsewhere for a competitive price on lenses.

REALLY inexpensive and nice. Very good pricesfor lenses, frames and add-ons. They had a deal at 2 for $ 160, and I need glasses for a short time as I will have Lasik again(I hope). So here’s what I got: 2 frames, one sunglass, one transitions, scratch resistant, all for $ 230. They were really fast, and very nice. Also let me know my insurance may rebate me(which they do – $ 105, so I’m set for $ 125 total – score). They are moving to a bigger place across the street. So nice to have a local place with prices like Visionworks. I initially thought their selection was small, but the receptionist/office manager went in the back and got me some frames that fit my small face — perfect! I paid less than half what my husband paid at Pearle and got better quality glasses. Yes, they are busy. Yes, they accept Medicaid. BUT, if you want a no-hassle pair(or 2) of glasses, or if you have frames you want them to put lenses in, go for it! You will not be sorry and your wallet will thank you.

I had to wait until I got my contacts before I posted this review. The doctor did a great job calculating my prescription, I have to give him that. But there was absolutely NO professionalism here. The receptionist/assistant to the optometrist has an air of constant hurry. She doesn’t welcome you in at all but just says“Whats your last name”. Also, get everything in writing. That includes appointment times, quoted for the cost of lenses, everything. The doctor told me to come back on Thursday and when I did, he had already left for the day. The receptionist said he just left, that I had just missed him. I asked if she could call him because maybe he could turn around. She did call but he didn’t come back. I was annoyed because I had taken off work. Then when I came back the next time, he told me he thought I just wasn’t going to come back at all. Now, this place accepts Medicaid, and I don’t know if that is why they feel they can get away with the lack of professionalism. I got my contacts today. They tried to charge me full price after the doctor had told me that the price if the exam would be subtracted out. The receptionist made another phone call and got it settled, but really! So as convenient as they are, I will be taking my optometric care elsewhere.

I think these guys need a slightly better review than the one below. Even though I still don’t know my doctor’s name(usually just referred to as «your doctor») the one that’s there on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays really got my vision and contacts right. I normally would have walked by this place, but since they are one of the few places in our neighborhood that take our insurance, we made an appointment here. The place certainly doesn’t have a lot of charm, but the prices aren’t too bad it seems. We have insurance, but I’ve seen plenty of people walk out of there happy with their glasses and prices and what not. The staff is pretty friendly even if there are dozens of people in line and the receptionist seems to keep an organized ship as far as I can tell. I’d give this place a higher rating if the décor was nicer. It might be worth investing in a remodel to attract more customers.

SO i had to update my review cuz some loser thought mine was too short, boo hoo. They are great, small, and can do custom sunglasses /glasses. I brought in a $ 400 pair i bought in some wacky shop in Tokyo, Japan and guess, what, they put my perscription in that biatch. YES! Then I get a crazy ass pair of sunglasses from St. Alfreds that look like they are from the Harry Carey collection and guess what? They nail it again, though it took a week longer than they said. YES! The guy in there who is the owner is awesome, he will get your custom frames outfitted with your cokebottle lenses no prob. They are sometimes real crowded, but just get ur ‘scrip in there once and everytime after, just drop off some goofy frames and they will have em for ya. I love this place, they have no problem doing, did i mention, CUSTOM frames. Ill matic. Support small biz, Chicago!
