Frost Lighting

We waited until last minute to secure a vendor for pipe-​and-​drape, up-​lighting and lighting for the backdrop of our ceremony for our New Years Eve wedding, and Frost came in to save the day. Our venue was an all-​white loft (Chez), and we had our ceremony and reception both there. In turn, we used Frost to set up pipe-​and-​drape between the cocktail hour and dinner area and to hide the dinner tables during the ceremony. Additionally they placed up-​lighting throughout the venue to give it a soft, warm glow that went with the multitude of candles that we had everywhere. They were communicative, easy to work with and setup and breakdown went smoothly on our wedding day. We spent more than we thought we would for their services, but we agreed that it was worth it, as they helped transformed the space into something that was both functional and beautiful.

We hired Frost lighting for our 2015 Wedding. We spared no expense for every last detail and we happy to do the same with a detail as crucial as lighting. We had a large wedding for city standards and there were many moving parts. I was disappointed with Frost lighting communication. Several times it took me weeks to get a hold of my representative. I actually stopped by the offices at one point to check in. On one occasion I called my rep and her assistant told me they were at lunch. I called back 3 hours later and she told me once again oh she just stepped out for lunch. It was clear she was avoiding me but that was very unprofessional. I had great experiences with vendors throughout my entire planning process and I have to say that Frost was my least efficient experience. Also I specially asked for there to be no LED or purple lighting and walked into my venue to see a very prominent spot lit in purple. I’d love to voice these concerns directly to Frost but no one called for a follow up after my wedding so I thought I’d follow up on Unilocal

We had my daughters’ wedding at Café Brauer. I worked directly with Frost for chandeliers and tea lights! Maggie was a delight to work with and the lighting was amazing!

When we first hired Frost, we were skeptical that it would be worth the cost, but we were proven wrong. The lighting made the venue more gorgeous than my wildest dreams, and they managed the sound beyond expertly. I’ve said to many people now that the experience of the wedding was surrreal, to see all of these individual pieces I had experienced separately all come together, and I think Frost was a huge part of making my wedding feel like more than the sum of its parts. I will never forget what it was like to come out for my reception and enter into this soft peach-​lit room that accentuated our venue (The Field Museum) perfectly. If you have your wedding at the Field, you have to use Frost… but rest assured that it is, albeit a lot of money, money well spent. Frost and Dennis did a fantastic job at our 12/​11/​2011 wedding. They transformed our space and had such creative design ideas! We wouldn’t have had such a beautiful wedding without all of Dennis’s hard work! Thanks for all your help! –Brooklyn & Robert Yoshimura

April Recinos, from April Joy Events, introduced me to Jonathan Bancroft from Frost. How happy I am that she did! It was a great referral. Jonathan is creative and patient, and from the beginning, based on April’s description of what I was looking for, he understood exactly what to do to make our dreamy, simple wedding more beautiful. The lighting that he and Frost did for us was super, and was handled with professionalism and care. Jonathan arranged to have shepherd’s hooks and lanterns in the courtyard of the Ivy Room for our wedding, and had several styles to choose from. They looked charming. He also arranged for up-​lighting along the walls of the Ivy Rooms interior, which created a wonderful quality of light – like the room was a little jewel-​box aglow. He also designed and installed a pendant light constructed of paper lanterns in the center of the room, above the dance floor, and it was so pretty, dreamy, and simple. Exactly what we wanted. And he was creative in finding ways to hang it artfully (with the help of Donna from the Ivy Room). From the beginning he was honest and straightforward about the pricing of the components that I had requested and was willing to revise the plan to meet our budget. The pricing for the project was very fair.
Everything Jonathan planned was flawless and beautiful. He was an absolute pleasure to work with, as well. Very kind, very patient, very responsive and professional. I highly recommend working with his company, and with him.
