Back again after my first review!!! Thank goodness Billy is here and still working behind the bar!!! BESTBARTENDEREVER!!! Ordered a drink and as USUAL it was potent and lovely!!! Lol! I’m actually here at the bar as I type… Sooooooo… Yeah… On to the food. I just SMOKED the salmon salad… Talk about flavor and quantity! I’m so satisfied right now listening to the music I played in the jukebox and mingling with the other customers who are having a good time and turning up! Such a diverse crowd! I love this place!!!

The two stars are for the hall itself. Good tables, not great. Clean felt, 9 foot, and relatively good rails. I was the only person in the place, got a table, 14 $/hr plus a dollar for a stick rental(brought my own) kinda steep for one person, got a beer and was told about the food. I proceeded to play pool for over and hour and no one so much as looked at me. Wanted another beer after ten mins, wanted to order food, and wanted to have something put on one of the many tv’s, which were all off except for the one at the bar that all the employees were watching. The five people working in the place were all sitting down eating except for one guy cleaning. I went to get another beer and pay for the table, and was asked why i did not get any food? my response was i was meeting friends for dinner later and was told«I could tell you didn’t want a good meal» what ever that means. Overall kinda pricey, but a nice pool hall, cant judge the food cause i never got the opportunity to try any. Service made me think it was the owners family running the place because no one seemed to be worried about looking or actually being busy. I get there was no one there but me, but working in the service industry myself, i would think that thats all the more reason to take care of the only customer you have. I’d probably go back but will definitely give City pool hall up the street a try.

Decent ambiance but service is horrible! We went in on a Friday night and watched all of the tables around us being serviced and tended to by the wait staff. We had to walk all the way back up to the bar to get service. We ordered food that never came and when we inquired about our order an hour later… we were told that the server«forgot» to put the order in. We asked for some sort of compensation for the long wait and were told sorry nothing we can do as if it were our fault for the crappy service. The insinuation was that we were looking for a hand out… really?! My group and I had already been on the table for 2 hours(at $ 14/hr) and ordered 2 rounds of drinks… so free hand out… NOT! I wouldn’t recommend this spot to anyone as a sheer result of the insulting treatment of the wait staff and manager/owner(Penny K.)!

I enjoyed the atmoshere at the beginning of the night probably because our server wasn’t drunk just yet… very spacious, Lots of pool tables. Very pricey at $ 14.00 a hour and you pay per stick. The servers are mediocre, very unprofessional and slow .My drink was empty but our server named natalie had enough time to grab herself a few heinekins back to back and was drinking while on duty next to us playing pool… I couldn’t believe my eyes. I will not be coming back.

Nice, clean and good place. Great food. Very eclectic music selection which could be turned down slightly. Clean bathrooms. Nice friendly service.

Horrible service. Especially if you are black stay away from this place. The bartender Penelope was very rude and racist. I guess she figured that all black people are ignorant. Keep your money and go where people will treat you with dignity and respect.

ENTERATYOUROWNRISK, EXTREMELYPOORSERVICE!!! This place has horrible service. So I recently had a group of my friends to meet me here for drinks and the bartender Penelope was very rude, nasty and racist. I’m assuming they never had to accommodate a large group of professional African Americans before because anytime we tried to order something directly from the bar she disregarded us. She purposely canceled our food orders, Up charged our bill, and put every order made by anyone that was African American on one bill. Even the people who were not in our party. Even after we told her that she was being rude she threatened to call the police and put everyone out. Please do not patronize this business. Go find a place where your money will be appreciated. I Will never come back.

My niece had a get together here started off cool ended horrible… The Bartender was rude totally ignored my Party standing at the bar to order yet a man walked up and she instantly serviced him… At that time my party stated that they’ve been standing there waiting and she says to them obviously I’m busy and it went downhill from there… Our party was 95% of the bar and I’m not exaggerating but the Bartender canceled all our food orders and ran all the tabs together although it was discussed for separate tabs… The worst part about it she(Bartender Owners Daughter) stated I’m the owner and you guys can leave… The father(Owner) was apologetic and definitely tried to diffuse the situation. Bottom line is I felt Racism was in play and it was very unprofessional. All I can say is do not patronize this place.

Totally stumbled into this place when another pool hall was crowded and we sought out backup options. They have over 10 pool tables in surprisingly decent condition, deliiiicious food and they were playing oldies(not hip hop/pop…yay!!!). It’s a family owned and managed establishment and a rare find for the city. They also have plenty tvs for sports but not at all a dingy sports bar feel. Love this place!

Stumbled, literally, into this place to use the bathroom, stayed because the waitress grabbed us, and glad she did. Lots and lots of pool tables(duh) and pretty decent beer selection.

This was my second time around G-Cue and it was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. Everything started off cool, my boys and I were at Taste of Randolph when it started raining so we ducked into G-Cue to avoid the inclement weather. We got a table ordered food and drinks and hung out for a while. G-Cue has, for whatever reason, a policy that they take your credit card and ID when you sit down even if you aren’t playing pool. I don’t get it but no problem. I gave both to our waitress and, as I said, ordered food and drinks and hung out for maybe an hour and a half. We had probably three rounds of beers and a round of shots, our waitress was friendly we were bantery and all was good. At some point our waitress stopped coming to our table. She was working her other tables but, it seemed, actively ignoring us. For 20 minutes we tried to get her attention while she brought food and drinks to every table but ours. We finally get the attention of a different waitress and ask her for our check. She tells our original waitress who brings over a receipt, not a check, not my card, not my ID and she immediately turned to leave. I ask her where my card is and she snapped at me that I pay at the bar. How am I supposed to know that? I didn’t realize they run their restaurant like a Denny’s. So, I walk over to the bar, my friends are laughing because I’m visibly frustrated and when I get to the bar they ignore me too. Now, I’m a pretty big guy and I go out a lot. I’m not accustomed to being ignored or to getting such shoddy service. So, I was less than cordial to the bar tender when she finally made her way to me. I said something along the lines of «I’m just trying to pay my fucking tab so I can get out of here» and she flipped her shit. «Don’t fucking curse at me» «I’ll come around this bar and kick your ass». I apologized, said I was frustrated with the service and simply wanted to get my cards back and pay. She ran my card, continued to talk shit and I paid and turned to go. Unfortunately it was still raining. One of my friends offered to go get the car if I’d lend him my umbrella. Done. Now we’re waiting in the bar area behind a couple waiting on their Über. Their car comes they leave so we step up into the space they were standing and two seconds later some guy comes up and starts yelling at us «in or out, you can’t stand here». I asked him why I was getting treated like assholes here. we come in, spend money and get treated like assholes and I couldn’t understand why. in the meantime another couple is now standing where we had been without a peep from this guy. I don’t think I’m going back.

An interesting experience here recently to say the least! Me and some buddies decided to come here as it decided to pour down raining @ Taste of Randolph and we wanted hang somewhere to keep dry. One of my buddies loves this place as they have a nice amount of pool tables and is a cool environment. We came in and grabbed a high top and was greeted by a nice waitress. I wasn’t hungry but they were so the ordered a nacho plater which was huge and enough for 4 people to feast on. Once we were ready to go, we were hoping our waitress would come and grab our bill, but that didn’t happen. We kept trying to get her attention and it did not work, nor did she come by and see if we were ready to go. We wound up having to flag down another girl to help us out only to find out that we were supposed to go up to the front to pay. How in the hell would we know that if no one tells us? We sat there for 30 mins waiting to go and no one said a thing. Once we went up front my buddy had issues getting them to take his card for processing which caused him to get quite angry as we had already wasted 30 minutes. The girl behind the counter wasn’t apologetic or anything… all she could say is «its not my fault» and«don’t yell @ me!» He was obviously upset about the poor service and then waiting round again… she could have been more understanding which would have calmed him down. Just when we thought things couldn’t get worse, we stood in the doorway as we were waiting on our other buddy to come around with his car as it was pouring down raining. Some guy who seemed to be the manager felt the need to tell us to go have a drink or get out which set my buddy over the edge due to the previous issues I mentioned. We were the only people he told to leave while others were waiting in the door area as well. He said he thought we just ran in to avoid the rain and we told him we had been there for an hour or so and we were waiting for a ride. I would maybe come back here to shoot some pool but would not expect to be treated like a paying customer. It is my hopes we caught them on an off day.

Kick ass father son family business worth checking out for a game of pool, some drinks and maybe a bite or two. Its always got a few tables open since there are so many, really a nice place to shoot around. They are doing some reno on it right now, but its a fun place to check out, especially to rest your feet while exploring Taste of Randolph fest.

It’s taken me awhile to write this review because I’m the type who thinks it’s better if you have nothing nice to say then don’t say anything at all. I wish I would have listened to the bad reviews(I rarely do) but maybe, just maybe this will strike the right cord and you will be saved by my review. We called ahead of time, were informed not much of a wait(didn’t really care about a wait but would prefer if it’s an impossibility to be told prior to driving in traffic to come to your establishment). Paid for parking. Ordered first round of drinks-$ 13 each– drank it in two sips-ordered a water-drank that-didn’t feel anything– ordered a different drink(this time more fluid but same amount of alcohol(practically nothing)). My boyfriend got a buzz off one of his drinks(it was $ 24 for that). Ordered food, ate food. Finally noticed that we were kind of being ignored as no table was to become available and kind of felt played(Bye Felicia). If the drinks were better prepared I would have stayed another hour and waited but at $ 70 for booze and no buzz to accompany, it was pretty disappointing that we didn’t get to play any pool. Felt little appreciation by the staff for coming to spend my hard worked and honest earned dollar here and hope that after you read this review you will make the smart decision and go ANYWHERE else but here.

I’d love to give this place five stars. I’m giving it four because Penelope(the head waitress) is the shit as well as the food and the price point. When we came in here for a late lunch this place was right on time, service was great, food was excellent. I’m here now on a Saturday night and the service is sub-par. I’m not sure why all the waitresses have on high heels, but this may be a reason why service isn’t as stellar as yesterday. This really isn’t the place that calls for heels, but I’m not sure if it’s part of their dress code or if they all just like wearing them? Anywho, hopefully the food is still on point. I’ll def come back, but hopefully the service will improve. Overall nice atmosphere, good ass food, nice prices, tons of TV’s.

WORSTPLACEEVER! Treated us with no respect and had horrible service. The waiter actually tossed my drink and then the manager refused to refund the amount for the drink. Will NEVERRETURN and I recommend that no one ever comes to this place.

What a great neighborhood find. The waitstaff was not only extremely helpful and attentive but also pretty damn cute. Good night my wife and I were there they had a private party that had a DJ great music and a fun crowd. My only disappointment was I’ve lived in the neighborhood for more than six years as the first time I heard about the place. It could use some good neighborhood attention! My wife and i look forward to making it one of our regular places.

A great candidate for a show like Bar Rescue. Use your $ 14(hourly charge for a table) for an cab/über to go somewhere else where pool is free and have better service and ambiance. Wait staff was friendly enough but had some trouble keeping tables straight, they gave us the wrong bill(and there were only 4 tables being used). More reminiscent of a dysfunctional family than a professional staff. For the hourly fee you get just the table, they don’t even collect the balls and sticks from you when you’re done. Beers were $ 5 up, décor was bizarre(chandeliers next to multicolor light bulbs, lavender walls, old carpet, and Van Gogh prints). Save your money and come back when they’ve renovated and fixed their kinks.

My friends and I stopped in here only because it was empty, so we knew we’d have a good time with just us. We just came from a crowded bar, so we were wanting a chill place. A few of the girls went straight to the juke box to pick out songs and really make this OUR party. They paid for their song selection, then waited. One song came up right away… which we line danced to.(Yes, we did that. No, we have no shame. We even got applause at the end. Oh yeah!) We were waiting and waiting and waiting for the rest to come on. One of the bartenders had the remote for it and skipped some random songs, but stayed on the ones she wanted to hear. I have no clue how the juke box chooses its music if people are putting money in to play it. Wouldn’t you think it would play the paid-for songs? SMH. Eventually they did play, but that definitely killed our vibe. Next the billiards tables. Some of our group played. $ 14/hour or $ 1/game. Oh, and $ 1 to rent the sticks?! That’s ridiculous! I’ve never been to a pool hall where the sticks aren’t included. Shame. No wonder the place was empty when we passed by… No worries, though. We still had a good time… on our own accord. We were literally the ones who brought the party. My friends playing pool even got free shots from the bartenders, who had no work to do so they were playing pool. «Thanks for livening up the place!»
