As a native Chicagoan I take my popcorn as seriously as I take my pizza lol Garrett’s is the ONLY place for Chicago style popcorn. rich cheesy goodness mixed with the crunchy sweet caramel corn, cannot be beat. grab plenty of napkins and dive in, but Get more than you think you want cause you’ll be craving it later!!! This location is nice because, while there always seems to be a line, it’s at least indoors as opposed to some other locations.

It’s not that this place is bad, it’s just that Berco popcorn is WAAAAY better. Overall I’d give this place a feeble thumbs up.

Since I was heading to a movie, I thought I’d check out this Garrett’s location to grab some popcorn. I’m a fan of this popcorn. The location is on the 7th floor and was very easy to find in the Water Tower. Believe it or not, there wasn’t a long line. The counter person, Quincella, was very chatty with the couple ahead of me including giving them all the samples they wanted. They ended up buying the smallest bag of cheese popcorn. I walked up and please note, I was not in a rush, I had plenty of time. She became a nonsense person, «what do you want» and have a good day. WOW. What happened to the customer service? I been to other locations with much longer lines and better customer service. Overall great popcorn. Service can be much better.

I like Garrett Popcorn, but this location is so slow and unfriendly that I’ll go to the SouthLoop before buy anymore popcorn from this place! My child wanted a sample and the women didn’t even speak she just shoved a sample his way. Can you say rude! Then the guy at the register was doing more talking then working… can I please place a order before you start your next conversation with the person behind you?!? Oh and the popcorn is so salty that my tongue is sore!

You can’t be in Chicago long before hearing about Garrett Popcorn. It’s achieved iconic status. I visited the store on the 7th floor of Water Tower Place and found a line waiting to get their Garrett fix. The line moves swiftly and efficiently so the wait is minimal. All kinds of tempting flavors await in a variety of sizes. I chose the CheeseCorn and their signature blend, the Chicago Mix, a combination of CaramelCrisp and CheeseCorn. I was slightly disappointed with my CheeseCorn. It was so cheesy it was almost greasy. Plus, there were broken pieces like you find at the bottom of your movie popcorn bag. The Crisps, with their caramelized brown sugar seem to hold up better. Go and enjoy so you can say you experienced Garrett Popcorn, but don’t get too caught up in the hype.
