Gas Depot Ajoy’s

Its a gas station, what do you expect. Didn’t buy gas, just goods from inside which were horribly overpriced. $ 2.60 for a 2 litter of pop, you must be kidding me.
It seems like this place would be easy to steal from (for all you kleptos) The guy sitting in the chair behind his cubicle can barely see over the counter and if he did get up, it would take him hours to get out of that box. Run in, take 2 steps, G the candy and dip. Simple.

I think the proprietor here pretty much invented the term highway robbery. For real.
While its awesome that they greatly discount gas for cash purchase, thats where the awesome ends. Just witnessed several horrible attempts at consumer extortion moments ago.
Scenerio 1: Guy pulls in with SUV ready to fill up, sees the price for debit/​credit purchase is significantly higher than the one on the sign with «cash only» written super small. He goes inside to get cash from their well advertised ATM. ATM charges a ridic fee to get cash but he figures he’s still ahead $ 8.00 on the fill up. ATM is out of cash. Helpful, thuggish guy behind the counter says «its been out for months and the owner won’t fix it because he makes more money off you when you have to use your credit card.»
Scenerio 2: Woman, cash in hand goes in to pay for gas and then grabs a few drinks to pay with debit. Thuggy clerk advises her that its a $ 10 min to pay with credit. She asks about debit, he says its $ 5.00 minimum. She tells him its a violation of credit card agreements with Mastercard/​Visa to enforce minimums. He says «Yeah, people complain about it all the time but ain’t nobody done nothing to us after 20,000 complaints so too bad’. Her purchase equaled $ 4.20, she grabs some gum and the thuggy McThugster says «$ 5.00 before tax» She threw the gum at him at walked out.
So yeah, shadiness in all shapes and sizes here. When I mention it to my friend who lives in the area she tells me she stopped going here years ago for the same reason. Classic. I wonder if my «gallons» actually measured up to a full gallon.
