Okay, so this was my first brazilian wax and I was nervous. The waxing room looked dirty (the floor was filthy) and the (now off-​white) vinyl chair looked as if it hadn‘t been properly wiped down in weeks, maybe months. The woman who was waxing me walked in and was very quiet at first, but then when I told her I had never gotten waxed before she became very friendly and started to chat with me a bit. She was nice, but seemed a bit inexperienced.
I noticed that she applied the wax and ripped off the strip in the same direction (proper waxing is to apply the wax in the direction of the growth pattern and then rip against). They also used hard wax and strips as opposed to cold wax, which equals a much more painful wax, especially in small areas. The other thing was the wax was too hot at points and I actually have a burn mark where the skin is peeling. It took her about 25 minutes (I’m guestimating) which isn’t bad.
The biggest problem I had was there was no tweezing or anything like that. When I got home, I was not smooth at all. There were areas missed and hairs that seemed to have been broken off as opposed to pulled out. I called to let them know the problem, and they told me to come in and they’d fix it, but I don’t feel comfortable doing so for many reasons (including the fact that I would much rather go somewhere that uses cold wax). The woman was rude with me on the phone and asked what I wanted then and I told her my money back. She said no we cannot do that and hung up.
I guess you really get what you pay for.

Moreen used to work at Deba salon, and i have been going to her since now that she has her own salon it makes my life a lot easier… I get my eyebrrows, makep hair and wax done there and i’m very satisfied with the outcome. You know you have great eyebrows when people remember you years later at a random store BECAUSE of them. Nermeen is fantastic and she knows how to give me the perfect set of brows. She and her sister opened this salon recently after doing eyebrows at their home and I am so happy for them. They know exactly what they’re doing when it comes to anything cosmetic, but they are eyebrow queens.

I’ve gone to Moreen — the owner — for some time now. She is the best at painless «threading».
What is «threading» you may ask — well its this process whereby the hair on your face is removed using thread. Sorta like plucking, but much faster and generally less painful. In addition to having the technique down to a science (e.g., painless), Moreen is a phenomenal eyebrow specialist. She knows exactly the shape that will flatter your face.
In addition to the threading process, have Moreen do a face polish. Its this fruit enzyme (Ithink) she paints on your face like a mask. It deep cleans and leaves your skin baby soft.
The salon also offers a myriad of services, including hair care and a full line of aesthetics (e.g., facials, waxing, nail care, etc.).
